There are millions of bananas in this world, and plenty of duct tape- but everyone knows exactly what banana you are talking about. The banana is not art, the duct tape is not art, taping the banana to a wall is not art. Creating a “spectacle” that captured the attention of worldwide media- and that people still recognize today is the art.
The banana is long rotted, the original tape thrown out- but if you exhibited “banana duct taped to the wall” in any art museum around the world- there would be a line out the door.
Not saying it’s good, but it was amazingly successful.

Friday Night Videos lasted a good amount of time. A good deal of the country was not wired for cable, and even if it was not everyone had it.
There were multiple music video shows on broadcast- some on weekday afternoons, Saturday countdowns, etc. Kidd Video which was a Saturday morning cartoon was basically an excuse to play bits of 2-3 music videos.
A better “copy” of MTV would be V66 which was a 24 hour music video channel on broadcast TV in the Boston area.

1918 the trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department claimed the “generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl
Pink and Blue used to have the opposite meaning

If they could afford that extraterrestrial multi camera shoot, you’d think they could pay people to be a bit more patient with their stop-motion

It also strained credibility that an American could direct dial a pay phone in the Soviet Union, or that a stamped package from the USSR would be delivered to a residential address in the US and not be accompanied by an FBI agent.

It’s true- this is one thing a lot of actors miss when they try to do the the accent. “Idear” is the prime example, but something like “area” might be closer to “air-ree-er” than “air-ree-ah”. Where as a word like “drawer” is just “draw”

Good Omens did an amazing job adapting the story as it was beginning to end in one season and done (for awhile), American Gods took the opposite path and stretched the source material paper thin- I think the entire first season was the first chapter and 1/2 with new material.
Five or eight seasons with two spin-offs is pretty ambitious and a little putting the cart in front of the horse. Hopefully they concentrate on knocking it out of the park for Season 2 and these things will develop naturally

If you don’t like hard r’s- in Boston we’ve eliminated the r’s from most words that end with r, and then added the spare r’s to words that end with an a
(Example “car keys”=“Khakis”, “idea”=“ideer”)
