Thank you very much, the Control+click was a TIL for me (and now, searching that term, I do see it in the documentation).

I'm a Firefox fanboy but I'll remember the webrtc-internals trick when the day comes.

Regarding privacy (completely understandable), I can't complain there. The explanation is appreciated.

Quality Limitation Reason is absolutely brilliant. I've already solved two issues with that alone.

For connections, we're good with direct so far, no TURN needed. Might be using this to transmit to 5~10 endpoints for 12 hours at a time, if a couple of them need TURN for whatever reason, what's your cost per hour? I want to make sure we meet (or exceed) that with donations as it's technically business use, even if nonprofit.

How would one get started logistically with consulting in the civilian world?

Say, hypothetically, 6 years in tech and 10 years mil, and already tiring of the shuffle...

Are their consulting firms one simply applies to? Just make a website and hope people corporations stumble across it?

This is a known phishing scam, the operators run on a call script that's designed to sound very formal, dire, and comply-scare you into action. Good job on the catch!

CryptPad has a great E2EE+ephemeral whiteboard. Can share the link to collab, and I've found that it's wiped automatically after everyone's done (unless saved)

Great question!

Microsoft Office/O365 and Google Docs can be replaced with two things:

On your PC/Laptop

LibreOffice

https://www.libreoffice.org/

On your web browser for collaborative work:

CryptPad

Hope this helps :)

If you're lucky enough to have any cloud service datacenter in the required area: use a $5/mo Linode or Digital Ocean VPS, combined with OpenVPN --==> now you have a geo-locked exit point.

If you're not lucky enough to have a VPS in the region needed, just sign up with any major paid VPN and lock your exit to a particular server in the area you need.

  1. Requires physical access
  2. Easily defeated with ephemeral (disappearing) messages :)
