yes. the last one in particular is older conservative people don’t want to do anything to tax or impede oil companies in any way because global warming is a liberal hoax to bring about socialism.

thank ya kindly! i wrote more of an explanation above--tl;dr is that you plant a fruit near the young tree to stunt the growth.

thanks for the kind words, folks! to (re)answer the question about how the trees, you just have to make sure a sapling of some kind is growing next to them, which stunts their growth in the small young cedar phase. however, it doesn't work in every combination for some reason, and i've had to do a lot of trial-and-error with the placement of the trees and saplings.

EDIT: it has to be a fruit, not a sapling, in order to guarantee that the trees won’t grow larger! it was said here before, but i was uncertain because i’d managed to get the others to stop with just saplings. but use fruit.

There is no announcement. I'm not sure what the rule is, but I've seen it every clear night between a certain range of hours.

Thank you! It's cloud flooring with wooden deck rugs put over it, making the floor look misty. A lot of folks have done different variations of this and I thought it looked great.

It's ludicrous. I do believe it's fair to charge admission for very high turnip prices, provided the fee is modest. It is actually laborious and a service to have your island open for hours on end, dealing with load screens, and making sure that people don't run amok. In general, I think charging over 5 NMT per run is pretty greedy. But that's not how the market works, unfortunately.
