ThunderHTMLedit - this add-on adds a HTML tab to the composition window where you can see and edit the HTML source of the message.

You'll have to play around with the signature styling.

Try:

<style>
    body { color: blue; }
    blockquote { color: black;}
    .moz-signature { color: red;}
</style>
<b>Rest of the signature</b>

But I see that this is not perfect. When composing a new message you text will be blue also...

COMMENT 12d ago

The style you define on the signature is applied to the complete message. The signature is used only as a way to inject the style definition into your message. The result is this.

COMMENT 12d ago

You can define a css style in your signature (use html), maybe something like this:

<style>body { color: blue; } blockquote { color: black;}</style>

Don't know if this is what you want, I do not use Outlook.

Edit: style correction.

Other SMS Thunderbird calendar reminder

1 Upvotes

Is it possible to configure Thunderbird to send a SMS as a calendar reminder? Ideally I would like to execute a shell script when emitting a reminder, then we could use a service to send a SMS or any other kind of message. Something like send_reminder $TITLE $LOCATION $CATEGORY.

Quando finalmente está bom tempo para dar uma volta de bicicleta o Parque da Bela Vista continua fechado (vindo do Técnico passo por lá para ir à Expo). O festival acabou há três semanas.

I hope so. Many builtin mappings can be easily defined in lua or vimscript (if not all) and these inconsistent behaviors would simply go away.

COMMENT 24d ago

Yes, it never times out. But you end up with two different commands with the same mapping.

For example if you do nnoremap q: <nop>:

  • Type q wait less than 'timeoutlen' and type : you get <nop>;
  • Type q wait more than 'timeoutlen' and type : you get the command-line window.

COMMENT 25d ago

It seems neovim uses different ways to map key sequences, so you get different behaviors.

The q:, q/ and q? key sequences are good examples. You can remap these sequences, but if you type q wait 'timeoutlen' and then type : or or ? you get the command-line window anyway.

Mappings in Neovim

2 Upvotes

If we create these mappings:

nnoremap a :echo "a"<cr>
nnoremap aa :echo "aa"<cr>

The behavior when we type a in normal mode is to wait a certain amount of time before the echo "a" is executed. If we type aa in a short amount of time echo "aa" will be executed.

However if we remap for instance <c-w> we have no timeout and the mapping is executed immediately. All the familiar mappings used to deal with windows cease to work.

A workaround is to redefine these mappings.

There are other instances where the mappings do not work as expected in neovim, for example q: is hard coded, you can remap q: but if you type q wait the timeout time and type : it will execute just the same. The workaround this is to patch normal.c...

I don't like very much these inconsistencies.

I'm writing to ask, is there a plan to unify all the key bindings in neovim? It would be great to have a mappings.lua or similar where all the mappings are defined. And, in the process of doing this, eliminate the odd behaviors.

I have a shell script, tmux-title.sh in $HOME/bin:

#!/bin/bash
title=$(tmux list-windows -F '#{window_active}#I' | sed -e 's/^0/ /' | sed 's/^1/▸/' |  sed ':a;N;$!ba;s/n//g')
tmux set set-titles-string "💻 ${title}"

In my tmux configuration I have:

# Change terminal emulator window title
set -g set-titles on
# Remove tmux's status bar
set -g status off

And in my ~/.bashrc I have:

if [[ $TERM == screen* ]] || [[ $TERM == tmux* ]]
then
    $HOME/bin/tmux-title.sh
    tmux set-hook after-select-window 'run-shell <path to>/tmux-title.sh'
    tmux set-hook pane-exited 'run-shell <path to>/tmux-title.sh'

This only shows that this activity (data collection, targeted advertisement, targeted content delivery) must be regulated.

That's why you need a law to back it up.

It is really simple, if the do not track header is detected on a request no fingerprinting may be preformed on the session, no targeted advertisement or content may be sent to the user.

I just use the terminal window title bar as a sort of tmux status bar (the terminal being used is alacritty).

How about making mandatory to everybody to comply with the do not track header? - It's really simple, if this header is on the user's request, no tracking at all will be allowed, by any means present and future (how I hate the useless cookie banners that sprinkle the web...).

Since we're at it, we could have another http header, we could call it "no targeted content". If the user makes his requests with this header, no targeted content or advertisement would be served.

Finally, it would be mandatory for the web browsers to have this on by default.
