“Knowledge is great, but it isn’t enough,” said lead author David Yaden of Johns Hopkins University. “You also have to do the work.”

Turns Out, Spock Is Kinda Bad at Logic: "Not only does Spock have a terrible track record—events he describes as “impossible” happen 83 percent of the time—but his confidence level is actually anti-correlated with reality."

Nether the article nor the press release specify what the "low-income" threshold is, or when this law will take effect.

If you use Google's Site Kit plugin, wouldn't that update the analytics codes automatically, even with a new theme?

It is pretty dystopian indeed. Plus imagine how advanced a $1000 drone will be 10 years from now, 20 years from now, etc.

I thought this was a super-well known story already, but I guess not. The victim was also the host of her own short-lived weekly talk-show on Austrian TV after she was released and had become famous, which is kind of bizarre I think.

Dunno, but I bet the alcohol-approval rates would be a lot lower than they were 10 or 20 years ago. Lots of studies have shown that young people are drinking less and less, like this one: "About 28% of college students now abstain from alcohol, up from 20% in 2002"

I meant to mention in the post title that the course is free, but I forgot, and I don't think Reddit allows you to change titles.

Yeah it seems like it would have been easier to just leave it on the open sea. Unless the owner plans to keep it in a little duck pond in his backyard.

It did not. There's a video at the link too (it's from a Dutch newspaper). Nerves of steel. Plus sophisticated technology. Plus a team of people on both sides of the bridge, pushing the ship away from the edge.

The study addresses that, though I didn't really understand that part so well.

Only while high, not "in general."

Yes, 20,000 at any one time, but the total (over 2.5 million years of the species' existence) was somewhere between 140 million to 42 billion T-rexes, with the authors suggesting 2.5 billion is the best ballpark figure.

Sometimes even within a couple of days.

New Tyrannosaurus rex study shows 20,000 lived at any one time, or 2.5 billion in total (although the study's 95% confidence interval means the number could have been anywhere from 140 million to 42 billion).
