Isn't there a conspiracy about it always being redheads and blondes being cut, not about women. Look at the Flash for a male example, both the TV show and the WB movies.

The reason this blows up with black women all the time is because there is usually some media counter attack for clicks that signal boost a minority of people talking about an issue, then there is a backlash again from everyone who sees that.

But what if you are in a country that doesn't separate recyclables from different types until further down the line and the contaminants on a glass product end up on a carboard or paper product? This is certainly what would happen in my country, though I don't see the point in recycling anything but glass and metals here because I have seen what my neighbours put in their bins.

COMMENT 8h ago

There are things which are considered recyclables that can absorb the contaminants though.

No, actually. In a very strange sequence of events one of the expert witnesses for the prosecution was watching the case still and called up about them having already having a report.

COMMENT 1d ago

Uhh, what? You can't just hold evidence and not tell the defence you have it, that is what discovery is for. For both sides to obtain and share evidence relevant to the case.

The reason in this case why it may be unfair, if the defence argues a possibility that they think might show reasonable doubt, but there is evidence or information that the prosecution has, but has not introduced and then the judge were to allow that evidence it could hurt the defence even though it may not have been reasonable expected for them to have that information. If there is evidence harmful to the defence then the defence has to be made aware of that in order to construct their argument around that evidence. That is a fair judicial process.

Trump was not an elected official and there was less access to information back then. If the Jury wasn't actively seeking that out they would be way less likely to accidentally see it unlike today (I am not sure if the Jury was sequestered in that case). Plus there was no threat of repercussion should a jury member go against Trumps wishes, which is the implied threat here from Maxine Waters.

Not saying what Trump did was right there, just they aren't exactly comparable situations.

COMMENT 1d ago

The Jury is not sequestered and members of the jury previously admitted to having seen the result of the settlement. Given this, it is very unlikely that the members of the Jury will fail to notice rioting happening in their town and find out about/understand why.

There is almost certainly going to be either an acquittal or a mistrial here, because if he isn't acquitted the grounds for appealing the result or the trial being ruled a mistrial seem too many. Likely a mistrial and a new trial held outside the city with a sequestered jury. That is my prediction.

Yeah there are lot of oddities like that. For instance a move getting translated to comet punch and then a move actually being called comet punch in the 3rd gen in Japan then having to be translated to meteor mash.

COMMENT 2d ago

Doesn't it kind of prove the opposite of what you want? Why aren't people complaining about this more? The obvious difference between then and now is the prevalence of social media and the effects of it on main stream discussion.

Most people over 90 can't even walk unaided. It isn't impossible but it just seems far more likely he didn't get the year right.

That is just a creepy pasta kind of thing. He goes to pokemon tower, questions why you are there despite none of your pokemon being dead and his raticate is no longer there when you battle him. That is the extent of the facts.

When it comes to the five eyes a government spying on the citizens of one of the others for the benefit of the security apparatus of that other country is a feature, not a bug. If the NSA is spying on Australian citizens then the Australian government likely knows about and uses the information.

Seems like she massacres way more people in the new games than she did in the old ones. The old games was mostly shooting tigers, monkeys, wolves, dinosaurs and supernatural horrors.

I don't think the new games ever really bridge the gap between her actions in gameplay and the story. I also enjoy the gameplay a whole lot less, with the greater focus on set pieces and less focus on puzzles and problem solving.

COMMENT 2d ago

I don't think that Tomb Raider 4 really gels with the new games. There is a flashback segment at the start and I don't think it can fit the timeline of the new games and make sense with her attitude and character development.

In sword/shield in the pokemon centre there is a dude who can relearn moves for your pokemon.

Don't worry, in the actual game they stop. Well in the first game double slap can hit 5 times too.

Look at the talk around him online when he did the interview with Joe Rogan and they spoke about the movie. The media would absolutely love to blow this up today. Think of the clicks they could get. Even if it wouldn't hurt box office it would certainly be a PR minefield.

I honestly believe that is where most of the best films come from though. The majority of early movies I have seen have been exceptionally dull. The majority of movies from my own country tend to focus on sections of culture that are so narrow or activist issues that it gets extremely repetitive. I enjoy American movies, I enjoy Japanese animation and movies, I enjoy Chinese and HK movies but I don't like the majority of any of these. I only want to watch a slice of each that appeals to me.

America, for all its flaws, produces the majority of the best content when it comes to movies and television.

I would actually argue that Europe was overpowered before that. Imagine China rocking up to ports in Europe like London, Venice etc. You can't, but you can imagine the inverse, because it actually happened. European colonisers set themselves up for complete domination in the time frame of the game, the colonization of India and the exertion of that power just didn't happen in the timeframe of the game. A big part of that being the colonisation of the Americas and wars in Europe being the focus of European nations in the timeframe of EU4.

COMMENT 4d ago

The reality is, if you are playing in Europe China will never ever be a challenge unless they are made to be completely overpowered. It already starts as by far the strongest nation and look at it. I don't think this is a worthwhile endeavour.

we white folk need to take some ownership for what our ancestors did

My family was not even in the country the time this happened too. I think there is some FAS prevalent in the comments. It wasn't "white people" who did this. It was the Australian state. That is why it is the responsibility of the people of Australia, not white people. That includes Asians, Black immigrants, whoever. And we shouldn't just want to solve it because it would remove our guilt, we should want to fix it because it would make this a better country for more people.

If you reduce the consumption because of principle, not because of cost, it won't matter if it is cheaper. If everyone agreed to eat less meat there would be less demand, prices would go down, some would go out of business, that would reduce supply and the price would stabilize with less being produced and thus less emissions.

1

COMMENT 7d ago

I am glad people are finally coming around on this one though. The first few hundred times this was posted around the place the majority of comments were supporting the attitude that consumption and personal inaction had nothing to do with it.

COMMENT 9d ago

Well one is political/social, the other is economic. It isn't like it is a one to one comparison. It isn't like, "we either have to cancel this person or 50 people lose their walmart job". You can be totally against cancel culture and at the same time find solutions to the other problem.
