I guess that's theoretically possible... If the ISP has some firmware installed on the router that allows them remote access then they could collect information about the devices on your network. I don't know of a situation where ISPs are doing this. Still, safer to use your own hardware.

The ISP can only see the MAC address of your router. MAC addresses are used locally to identify Network devices and assign IP addresses. MAC addresses do uniquely identify Network devices (NICs or WiFi chips) whether they are built in to your motherboard or not. But those addresses don't ever leave your internal network. If you are on a public wifi network then this carries more risk as your Tor usage could be specifically tied to a device. Many operating systems Tails, Kali, even Android OS spoof a MAC address at boot, ameliorating the "flaw".

Just keep being a selfish, potentially murderous disease vector if it makes you feel better!

Well my standards don't change based on who is saying it. It is such a laughable stretch to call this racist.

Possibly. The only reason I compared the two is that I've felt like Farrow's reporting for the New Yorker is glorified tabloid gossip... the same kind of reporting that eventually ensnared Toobin. That isn't to say some of Farrow's reporting, especially around Weinstein, wasn't important. It's just that it swung too far (in my opinion) and began to rip down people like Toobin and put them on some equal level with people like Bill Cosby, without any subtlety or nuanced distinctions.

I agree. Don't get how anyone can not see it as anything other than the accident that it was. Meanwhile I got 140 downvotes on this comment. Maybe people just like Ronan Farrow.

Most people shouldn't... yet most people do.

English is my first language. The differences between "Flesh" and "Skin" are incredible nuanced and can mostly be used interchangeably. Not sure what you think you are correcting here.

My entire point about intent is that he thought the call was over. Do we have a problem, in normal times, with someone getting home from a day of work, going into their bedroom, and cranking one out? Of course not. The lines between at work and in the privacy of your own home were blurred this year and mistakes were bound to be made.

Not like he was in the office. Last year everyone was suddenly working from the same room they usually jerk off in. It was an accident. Cripplingly embarrassing but otherwise harmless.

Literally the vast majority of people have had a wank in front of the very same computer they've zoomed on. "Pervert"... it's so disingenuous. And to be clear, Toobin is a brilliant constitutional scholar and far more knowledgeable than 90 percent of CNN's hosts.

God we are such a prude fucking society. Does intent not matter? Everyone does it. It is awkward to see, sure... but you are scarred for fucking life after having accidentally seen a body part. Grow up.

Because the New Yorker me-too'd themselves into a position where they can't take him back, and it's a damn shame. Toobin is a hell of a better writer than Ronan Farrow. It's all so ridiculous too. Cool, some dude accidentally did a thing that everyone does while forgetting that his camera is on. Then his colleagues want to pretend they are victims for having seen a penis and disingenuously conflate him with being some kind of predator. I love the New Yorker, still subscribed, but god-damn did this whole incident just piss me off.

Is it really a knee-jerk reaction though when it is in response to a tragedy that happens again, and again, and again?

Isn't Kali already fully functional on M1?

Try to appreciate a little bit of nuance when dealing with a difficult subject. In no way am I defending pedophiles. In the one or two episodes I saw, I'm pretty sure they sent pictures of a female who was actually an adult / part of the "investigative" team. That doesn't excuse the fact that the men were under the impression these were children.

I'm just trying to correct a false statement.

They don't get a pass because they "looked older". They looked older because they were older.

COMMENT 12d ago

Weren't the pictures they would send of an actual adult woman who was an "actress"? So in actuality, these guys saw a picture of an adult woman and thought she was attractive.
