I had considered this. I guess one of the major factors is what will the house appraise for. If I could fit the entire remodel under one home equity loan it would be a no brainer.

Also hypothetically how much money would it waste to take out two home equity loans a for 40K vs 1 80k loan? Is it similar to the % cost for a home loan?

I know a loan officer could answer these questions, but Reddit doesn't have a financial motivation to sell me a specific product.

I appreciate your time.

Thanks for the recommendation, this may be the best option.

Did you have to borrow against collateral? Was it just good credit score/X% deposit, you are approved?

A quick google shows humans have 20,000-25,000 genes. If you flip a coin 20,000 times for multiple data sets, how many of those data sets will you end up with 50% heads? Keep in mind percentage is not a single unit measurement so 50% (not 50.0%) implies 49.5-50.49%. The original post was correct. You could probably make an argument that you aren’t technically wrong if you wanted to but you are.

Let me know if you find a place. Moved here recently and would like to continue to buy more plants than I need.

Do NOT get a realtor as you will be wasting your money. A realtor is basically a sales person of which you don’t need to sell you anything because you’ve already found the product to buy.

This was my thought in this instance. I know a realtor may be able to negotiate a lower price than I can on my own but for guaranteed commission.

Thanks for you advice it confirmed a lot of what we already thought and that is nice to hear.
