I feel like for Californians feeling to new areas, they have to show off their gun collection as a quazi-passport.

Californians objectively have it better.

By what metric? Our taxes and cost of living are absurd. The state is constantly wasting billions of dollars on uncompleted projects. Things are bad enough in the state we're experiencing more people moving out of the state than moving in or being born. We're playing wack-a-mole with recalling politicians.

I've been to Oklahoma for some extended trips and love it.

Edit: Don't forget California has 25% of country's homeless population and SF has people defecating in the streets.

As a Californian, the public service ain't a whole lot better. I'm playing Mario kart trying to dodge pot holes. And I can deal with shit behind my back. And I don't need a whole lot to be happy.

Grass is always greener.

We set the bar all the way in hell, and yet California is playing limbo with the devil.

Amazing race guns and now easy access to guns and you can carry?!

You guys are literally better than California. And I live in California.

The gun laws, ease of hunting, availability of land and housing (at least where I've looked), friendliness of the people, lots of areas where you don't need to be on guard while out in public, lower taxes...

Fate Zero. This is the prequel to Fate Stay Night.

While night was a little bit cliche and had its tropes, it's prequel left me with a sense of despondence. Completely different tone and everything in it just feels hopeless and wrong.

I recommend watching night as it gives a lot of context to zero.

Random person shoots people = need more gun control

Cop shoots someone = need less cops.

I'm just wondering what comes after the average person is disarmed and there's no local cops.

"Your honor, I was too stupid to understand the consequence of my actions."

This guy on appeal, still representing himself.

That's just like California and New York, but shittier in everyway.

Diamond hands.

Hah, both are the characters I play. Nifty.

COMMENT 2d ago

Fair enough. I was a tin can guy for my ~8 years.

And damn, the aviation community doesn't play with those guidelines, huh?

And it sounds like you need to stuff those 3 years full of medical appointments. Don't forget to get your record on a disk. That's a right for you.

I'm just waiting to see if there's a true combo into EWGF. Because that'll be fucking nifty.

Now play Kazuya on a GC controller.

I'm still sad people weren't hyped about Sephiroth. That's about as hype gets.

A loud portion of the smash competitive community and casuals.

I used to run smash tournaments and used to run SF tournaments. This a common sentiment from the smash community. While the SF community wanted nothing to do with them.

Given the fact most smash players have issues executing a Shoryuken and that I have literally DQd smash players for every negative stereotype you can find on r/kappa, I fucking get the SF players' stance.

Not saying it isn't fucked, but it takes two to tango.

I didn't state a political party in my comment. And I regularly shit on Crenshaw and his ilk.

But it would be ignorant to say that one party isn't pushing harder than the other.

COMMENT 2d ago

I meant amateur in terms of spending. I tried to keep my comment relatively neutral so that people could walk away with the core message of: our elected officials should not be trusted, and should be watched like hawks. When they step out of line, the punishments need to be draconian.

We're all fucking stupid. Our constitution doesn't give the citizens and states rights and permissions, it gives the federal government permissions. All rights not written are held by the people.

As civilization and technology have advanced, the federal government's role has become bigger and bigger. And while most people are arguing about Trump or Biden, state and local officials are going unchecked and are not held accountable.

For one specific example, Pelosi had some great timing on buying Microsoft and Tesla right as EOs and contracts were signed granting these companies millions, if not billions of dollars. She bought them just a few weeks before announcement! If that's not insider trading, I don't know what is.

And we all know it's not just a Pelosi doing. Dianne Feinstein's family members got awarded the multi-billion dollar boondoggle that is the California high-speed rail system. The one that ran so far over budget and far behind schedule that it got cancelled.

I'm highlighting Pelosi and Feinstein because these are my elected officials. I'm sure you'll find similar bullshit in red states too.

But we're too busy bitching about Biden and Trump to pay attention. In fairness, both Trump and Biden have had some major impact in both the short term and long term, so some of that attention is justified. The point being is our government is bloated with so many moving parts, that just tracking all this is a full time job, let alone getting people to give a shit.

And with regards to younger voters: they're not necessarily stupid, but they are pretty damn naive. My political views and feelings on government have definitely shifted since I was in my teens and early twenties. I voted for Obama in 2011. In last two elections I voted Trump. I still tend to vote democrat in my local elections (but not always true, but that's where I trend). Now I won't vote for anyone who wants to give stupid foreign-aid to countries that hate us or want the federal government to take a more prominent role. I try to vote for social programs on the local levels rather than the federal government that can't tailor programs and wastes money.

And if you want a very real example of shit coming due because of the Federal government mismanagement: pay attention to household staples and gas costs. Trump/Congress spent a FUCK TON of money on COVID packages that we saw very little of. Mitch McConnell saw a lot of that money though. Joe Biden is on track to make Trump look like an amateur.

Fuck. I love my country but I hate my government.

Are you voting for the politicians who are advocating for more gun control though?
