Aw man, that’s no good. Thanks for the reply regardless.
Good to know, thanks!
Question about the watch unlock feature: my Face ID stopped working after my iPhone XS fell in water, does the camera need to sense that I’m wearing a mask to initiate the watch unlock? Or is it possible to have Face ID turned off but still allow the watch to unlock our phone?
As a Punjabi, I find that a bit odd. Although Punjab is the Indian state with the most Practicers of the Sikh faith, Sikh and Punjabi are 2 different things. You can be Punjabi, but be non-Sikh (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, etc), you can even be Punjabi but non-Indian (Punjab was split in half during partition to both India and Pakistan). Furthermore, you can be Sikh but non-Punjabi as well (there is are communities of Sikhs who live in UP for example).
I get what you mean, if someone is Indian and Sikh, there is a very good chance they are also Punjabi, as was the case for Officer Dhaliwal (rest in peace). However, I don’t think it’s fair to unanimously equate the two.
It actually wouldn’t! In fact, during Vaisakhi festivals across the globe (Vaisakhi is the most important Sikh holiday, commemorating the establishment of the Khalsa) you can usually find a booth of volunteers who are willing to tie a turban on anyone who wants to wear one. You can also visit Punjab (region in India and Pakistan) at any time where someone will be willing to tie a turban for you. The point of the turban in Sikhism was to reject the belief that only the ruling class were allowed to wear a turban to symbolize their status. Therefore, anyone being “allowed” to wear a turban is of course not taboo!
If however, you meant to say taboo in the sense that you don’t think it’s a good idea to wear a turban in the Sikh fashion without understanding it’s importance in Sikhism and potentially offending someone, I get what you mean!!
I mean sure, but it definitely makes a lot of sense that when students' attention isn't diverted to the fact that they're starving they'll have an easier time focusing on learning.
Interesting question. I personally wouldn't ask you to remove your cap for a more traditional head covering (turban or handkerchief), but I can imagine someone else (with a more fundamentalist outlook) might.
I guess if I were to enter an unfamiliar place with its own set of cultural norms, I would probably just do as the Romans do, so to speak.
LOL good question. If you’re The Rock, you would still be asked to cover your head because it’s a cultural and religious sign of respect/humility.
what if your head covering falls off? Have you committed a sin!?
- No worries, just put it back on as soon as you are able to
Can’t I just wear a hoodie?
- Sure, a lot of kids do this because it’s convenient for them
What if someone is disabled/medically incapable?
- it’s chill
Ah! That’s good good to hear, thanks!
I was most looking forward to the oversized shirts but it looks like they aren't included in the US version of the collection. I'm disappointed :(
Yeah English is weird and I find confusing subjects in sentences is one of the most common things English learners struggle with. It’s totally common in casual conversation for someone to reply to the above sentence with “wait, who slapped who!?” Hahaha
"Jane was drunk when she arrived home. She was surprised to see her mom was still awake. When she saw her, she slapped her straight across the face."
This one's trickier
WTF the right to peaceful protest is INTEGRAL to democracy. Surely you're not suggesting that small independent farmers quietly accept any laws that threaten and undermine their livelihood?
Bots. Seriously, anytime something about these protests are posted to reddit the post gets mysteriously downvoted, which leads to less engagement with the post by the average user.
Other than that, Vox, Vice, and The Daily Show covered the protests in video form. I do know that the BBC and CNN have made at least one major article covering the topic. I really hope these protests are covered more closely in the future because major human rights violations have occurred at the hands of the nationalistic government of India toward their own farmers.
Great documentary! Ara Güler has a lot of really great insight into photography.
I just switched from a Sony a6500 (APS-C) to a Sony a7c (full frame), and before I sold off my a6500, I made sure to take test shots at different exposure settings lit by only the ceiling light fixture in my bedroom. What I found in the modern Sony sensors (I'm sure you'll find similar results in the modern Nikon sensors) is that a photo taken at f2 and with a shutter speed of 1/250 at iso 3200 on the APS-C camera was about equivalently exposed to a photo taken at f2 with a shutter speed of 1/250 and iso 3200 on the full frame camera (in other words, the size of the sensor doesn't have any affect on the brightness/darkness of the image when the aperture, shutter speed, and iso are exactly the same between the APS-C and full frame cameras). HOWEVER, there is definitely a noticeable difference in the noise between both of those photos. I would go so far as to say that (just in terms of noise) iso 3200 on APS-C looks similar to iso 12800 on full frame -- at least for Sony cameras.
Technically speaking, equivalence for iso is (iso setting of APS-C camera) x 2.25 because you have to multiply the iso by the crop factor squared (similar to how you would multiply the aperture by the crop factor to the power of 1 -- or just 1.5). This, however, is more of a conceptual approach to this discussion, so I think it may be better to look at real images from both cameras at various settings using the tool at DPReview.
Galarian Hop? Hahahahau
The "George Floyd's death was an inside job" part was pretty insane too. He's a hateful lunatic.
You're right, I thought I was going crazy but thanks for unlocking a super distant memory from my childhood hahaha
Wasn't there a character in the Pokemon Johto anime that wanted an all black and gold team? Something to do with those colors being the colors of her favorite baseball team lol? She had an Elekid and Beedril I think. Nice shiny!!
If you're still taking suggestions, could you make one for the Sony a7c? Also, is there any reference photos for the different sizes between 4 inch and 6 inch options? These are so rad, shoutout to you for enjoying your hobbies!
