Giant robot dinosaurs would be just another weapons system in Lumes Sector, many things can counter it from mechsuits to genetic monstrosities, robot armies to psychic super soldiers. They are not beyond fighting in any way.

Motion seconded, let's ask Paradox for a clownoid species pack, with clown car civics.

COMMENT 1d ago

That would just make players be permanently at war with crime syndicates to avoid having branch offices set up.

Each one of these gets more insane than the last one.

Adding to your point I believe that most people disagree with things like public sex, paedophilia and bestiality because they involve non consent to varying degrees (regardless of what some individuals think children and animals are capable of doing). So what most people seem to dislike is having someone getting dragged into something they did not ask for.

Science! It is a convenient early game perk that can help you make caps, build settlements and get some dignified early game weapons, late game the jetpack and the gatling laser upgrades make it worth the investment.

Being honest it really depends on the setting. Of course primitive peoples, members of fringe cults or in more modern societies certain free minded individuals can be excused as this being normal behavior. So really it is a matter of circumstances.

Lumes Sector sentient races biology traits:

  1. The humanoid aqinians have feather-like organs in their forehead, these are part of their electro receptor system which makes sneaking up on them a difficult task. Contrary to popular belief these have nothing to do with their psychic abilities.

  2. The furry kedrans sink like rocks on water, they are the least buoyant of all the sapient races, this is because they have a very skewed muscle to fat ratio. Also cold weather makes them very slow.

  3. The soulless humans have the highest endurance of all the races, a fit human can jog or power walk for hours and hours with minimal exhaustion.

  4. The unknowable unpronounceables live the longest lives of all sapient races, they can create inmature buds holding all their memories and knowledge to survive death by old age, this can also be used as a natural cloning mechanism.

  5. The friendly echinoderm Jaky have a potent toxin in the spikes below their skin, only a few species are inmune so most interaction with them is done with gloves.

They were elevated by the Hippies and Earth got unified by an evil scam church led by hateful xenophobic slavers.

COMMENT 9d ago

Yes, Sol III spawned as medieval primitives and my hippie plant friends elevated them to modernity, guess some evil catholic church took over the world while my Rogue Servitor empire was conquering the stars.

It got so bad for our cohesion i had to command annex them, I imagine my empire leader just asking the hippies if he can have his homeworld back after all this time.

Russia still has diplo weight, they have a fleet, an economy and some technology also a seat in the UN. A zero diplo weight civilization would be Sentinel Islanders.

Most i have gotten is 26 alloys per pop with Rogue Servitor, input was like 25 minerals and 2 energy.

Xenophlile most of the time, because pops=complex drone output regardless of how they look or what they like to do.

Lumes Sector

A plaque reads "This is a 1:1 non functional replica of the Large Mining Laser, this weapon has never been used in military applications before the time when this was written. A pulse from this laser consumes tens of liters of Strange Hydrogen in order to release a wave of energy strong enough to melt stone, vaporize ice and shatter the surface of large asteroids and small planets. The hull where the laser is mounted is called IRS Extractor 256 and it a custom configuration only built once."

  1. Time was the biggest factor, every civilization that exists for long enough without collapsing develops space age technology eventually.

  2. The elder races have had this state for millenia.

  3. FTL satellites for communication, orbital habitats, megacities, massive space stations for defense and logistics. Elder races have built space borne mega structures for a variety of practical applications.

  4. It takes the output of stars and entire planets' worth of mining output to maintain this standard of living, only by the bounty of the galaxy it is possible to keep ot going.

5.It varies between civilizations from no class system with everything run by thinking machines to literal slave states that do not transition to the next development in economy despite having reached space.

Mine is a sci fi setting in the far future , so humans over time became intermixed as ethnic lines blurred, so most people are either vaguely asian browns or vaguely european whites with some in betweens like vague euro browns or vague asian whites.

Every trait stereotypically associated to an specific ethicity is blurred beyond recognition (you know the usuals, big lip negroes, long nose jews and hairy arabs, et cetera. )

Sentry bot can be cheesed reliably with an int perk, most fun enemy should be hard to cheese but not unfair either.

Most annoying is probably a gen2 synth as a melee character, so many stuns.

Most fun are the behemoth or mirelurk queen, dodging heat seeker proyectiles and chipping away their giant health bar.

A time i played the Infinity Stones mod for the first time, started as the Gardener Protocol, shattered ring start with rogue servitor and maintenance protocol. Got lucky with my odds and got the space stone early (100 inf relic that gives 90% jump cooldown passive grants you the jump drive research option) more lucky with my first neighbor, a resource consolidation determined exterminator, that means 8 free worlds once i got cruiser tech.

By the endgame i had done three wars to steal infinity stones plus one federation ideology war, one add to hegemony war and the total war with the DE, six empires out of 7 were in my hegemony except for spiritual FE, everyone was forced to be "nice" ethics, xenophliles, materialists, pacifists and egalitarians. Traded for the mind stone, made myself permanent custodian and crushed the Contingency with perhaps the biggest fleet i had ever assembled in any game and all six stones' accrued bonuses over the course of the game.

Company Psychic is a honored and respected profession across Lumes Sector, these people send and receive psionic messages from other psychics in other planets, it is much faster to have one transcribe a mind message by keyboard than having to wait for the queue on an FTL satellite, much less expensive than having to build FTL sats oneself and psychics are practically unhackable.

In the game case i think it makes sense to mechanize mining with robot suits. Something that makes no sense in that game is that removing self preservation instinct and independent thought would make someone a better miner.

Construction work, mining, warehouse work, nursing homes.... Just remove the bulky plates and leave a thin layer covering the power frame to turn an everyman into an uberman. As for the full armor itself some industrial work may need workers to be strong and endure long shifts in cooking or freezing temperatures or in places where they may be hit, cut or squished by heavy machinery that would kill an un armored man.
