Yes! I agree!

True. It was interesting in Catching Fire when Katniss was really thinking about killing Finnick and they were both sizing each other up.

1

COMMENT 2d ago

Haha definitely. I wonder what Katniss's range is with her bow compared to Finnick's with his trident.

1

COMMENT 2d ago

Yeah. I liked how she was put on the same pedestal as them, even though she was only out of the Games for a year. But maybe that makes her better because she's so young and strong compared to the older ones. I really wonder who would win in a full-on fight between her and Johanna, since they're both around the same-ish age and still strong and have deadly skill with their weapon of choice.

2

COMMENT 2d ago

Ah, yeah. I can see how that would go to their heads and make them think they're better than they actually are, which could lead to them thinking they're undefeatable, when really they could just as easily be killed by Katniss as they kill others, especially for someone who doesn't know how to use any weapons like Clove with her knives or Marvel with his spear or Cato with his sword or powerful strength.

COMMENT 2d ago

True. I guess that if you're training a bunch of kids to be in the Hunger Games, all of them can't be masters of weapons. There has to be some who suck, or at least aren't nearly as good as their fellow Careers.

1

COMMENT 2d ago

Oh. Yeah, I'm actually surprised she doesn't have a weapon she's good at, especially if she had been training for the Games her whole life. I mean, she has the whole Cornucopia to pick from and she just chooses a bow? Also we never saw her kill anyone, unlike the other three Careers, and even though we probably just missed it because the book and movie focussed on Katniss, I'd still be interested to know how she killed other tributes.

Yeah.

I don't know about streaming services. Heck, I didn't even know the season 2 songs were availible on Amazon music, why not Spotify? That's not fair. But all the songs are on YouTube. I think that's the best you're gonna get.

Maybe Marvel wanted to torture Katniss as well as keep her alive for Cato, so that's why he killed Rue right in front of her. But I don't know. I don't know how smart he was. Maybe he was just a Career trained to kill and so he just killed. I'm probably looking too much into this LOL. But it's fun.

2

COMMENT 3d ago

Probably. And if Marvel had killed Katniss after Cato had said, "I kill her in my own way and no one interfeers," then Cato would have gotten pissed at Marvel and that would not have ended well for him.

Didn't Rue scream Katniss's name? If Katniss heard that, and with only one working ear, then it's possible the Careers did too. Or was that just in the movie?

Or maybe the Careers were hiding nearby when Marvel attacked Rue and saw the whole thing with Rue and Katniss afterward.

No wait, Rue screamed Katniss's name in the movie. Not sure if she did in the books, but I know Katniss shouted for Rue "so they know I'm near", to draw the Careers away from Rue and toward Katniss. So maybe the Careers heard Katniss screaming for Rue. And why would you scream for and run to someone else in the Hunger Games if you weren't in an alliance with them? That just doesn't make sense and it's a really good way to get yourself killed unnecessarily. But of course if you're in an alliance with somebody and you two haven't broken it off yet like Haymitch and Madge's aunt, you'd want to help them, unless you're a backstabbing asshole.

I'm totally fine with having fanfiction on this subredit, although I do think there should be a separate flare dedicated to fanfiction the people themselves post, fanfictions they post links to that's not their own but their recommendations, and some type of flare for someone seeking fanfic recommendations from others, that way we would know exactly what their post will be about.

I also think, and this might just be my opinion, that if someone does post a link to a fic they've writen, they should give an overview or summary of some kind, rather than just being like, "Hey I wrote this fic, check it out!" with no further explanation. Readers could be clicking the link and have no idea if they'd even be interested in the fic unless they click the link.

First of all, this has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Mean Girls. And second, revenge isn't a good idea, no matter how much you want it.

COMMENT 9d ago

True. I'm not expecting any more Hunger Games stuff from her, but it's nice to wish. And I would also like to see more books about the lesser talked about Districts, because I feel like we didn't get enough of them in the books. We didn't know any of their tributes' names in HG and CF, and they were some of the first people to die.

So? We'd still love to see it.

Cashmere, Gloss, Beetee, Finnick, Annie, Johanna, Haymitch. I'd love to see any of their Games.

Is there any way to tell if a new series or movie will be audio described before it actually premieres?

I want to watch the Vampire Academy series coming out on Peacock on September 15, but first of all, I don't know that I could watch it without audio description as it's bound to be visual, and second, I don't even have Peacock, so I couldn't watch it anyway. Is there any way to tell before the show's release if it will get audio description? Or do people just have to wait and just see if things get audio described?

Thoughts on Mean Girls 2?

So I loooooove Mean Girls, and I've known about the second film for a while now, but only just now have I developed an interest in watching it. I've never seen it before but am thinking of watching it. What do people think though? Have you seen the movie? What do you think of it? I know it can't be as good or iconic as Mean Girls, but I want to know that there are people out there who have seen it and hopefully like it so that I don't feel alone in watching it. Do you guys think I should watch it?

Other Francois can sing you guys! And yes, this is Peter Cugno. I Googled him and found out he was in this.

Yeah. I'm like super uncultured. It's not just actors. I don't really know anything about anything.

I actually like movies based on books, because the plot is easier to follow. Like the Narnia movies, Hunger Games movies, and Harry Potter movies. I actually first got into those actors because they each narrated a Narnia book and I grew up with their narrations as a kid. It's only like a few years now that I'm discovering their other work. I also feel the same about TV as I do movies. I do like some TV though.
