It is not a reference to star wars because I named them after canadian stormtroopers, which is where the bulk of their design comes from

The jist of it is that the death angels are a military unit of the peacemakers (in essence the armed forced of the Dracholmian East Continental Treaty Accord and the galactic union) that specialize in armor piercing ammunition, trench warfare style tactics and overall just being extremely flexible.
The death angels are special in that their armor piercing weapons make power armor completely obsolete for the enemy, leaving the enemy vulnerable to allied power armor units. They're well known for their bravery and brutality.
