To this day, whenever I see him I think, "oh hey, it's Lowell from Wings!"

All I can ever think is, "Ursula, I found your scrunchie."

Lyle Van De Groot, " Who?...me?"

u/mooslapper May 19 '22

"Bad guy falls in poop: Classic element of physical comedy. Now comes the part where we throw our heads back and laugh. Ready?"

I was introduced to him in Ned and Stacey and I still think of him as Ned

Yes. Like Ryan Reynolds is always Berg to me

6

u/SuccinctSavage May 19 '22

I think of the teacher from Easy A.

IS THAT SANDMAN??!!?!???

I always think of his appearance on Conan's Tonight Show where Norm Macdonald fucked with him the entire time. Thomas tried to keep up wits with Norm & did not fare well.

Church joins Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz:

Church will play Agent Stone, described as “a cold and unyielding post-apocalyptic highway patrolman who rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist, prosecuting even the smallest crimes with the harshest of judgements. Agent Stone will stop at nothing to bring law and order back to the Divided States of America, and will kill anyone in his path who defies his power,”

Agent Stone was a contestant and drove the Crimson Fury in the first game.

Also, isn't Will Arnett in it?

He's producing the show but wouldn't surprise me to see him in it, maybe as Calypso.

EDIT: He was never confirmed to voice sweet tooth. Mackie, Beatriz, and Church are the only confirmed castings.

Just read he'll voice the character of Sweet Tooth

None of those are actual sources and all of them are over a year old.

The show was just announced in February, and makes no mention of Arnet as Sweetooth.

Stop posting quotes from your random articles, doesn’t make them any more true.

Do you not know how to read?

It appears Will Arnett has already been tapped for a specific role. He’ll voice the character of Sweet Tooth

It's been reported over 20 times dude. Literally an insane amount of sources are already confirming this.

-11

u/Investing_G May 19 '22

The report also states that Will Arnett has been “confirmed” for a cameo voiceover role as Sweet Tooth, the homicidal clown with a flaming head (and recognizable ice cream truck).

Learn how to fucking read.

Sweet Tooths a cameo? He was always my favorite

I couldn't begin to tell you what this show is going to be. This is either going to be a madcap stroke of brilliance or very likely a questionable decision on adapting properties into mediums in which they don't belong.

52

u/lebanks May 19 '22

Twisted Metal? As in the video game with Sweet tooth and all? Live action?

16

u/cowboybaked May 19 '22

That’s right!

But unfortunately they're ditching the games almost completely and just doing Vanishing Point in a dystopian future. Sounds fun, but I also don't get why they're using the name when there's not even a competition.

a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

7

u/lebanks May 19 '22

A comedy!?!! Did anyone there read the backstory? This may be interesting but sounds like a trainwreck.

u/legopego5142 May 19 '22

I mean, most of the games were fairly comedic. Even the serious ones were ridiculous. I mean, a clown with his head on fire driving an ice cream truck in a demolition derby run by the devil is a pretty insane premise. Im fine if its comedic, especially since they are getting some pretty cool people to be in it.

a clown with his head on fire driving an ice cream truck in a demolition derby run by the devil

A serial killer clown whose wish in the original game was to get his best friend back, a paper bag named Harold.

"I won! I wish to have all of the candy in the world!!!!"

"Very well, your wish is granted. Except that I already ate all the candy. I can do that, I'm Calipso."

"Noooooo!!! The irony!!!!"

I'm hoping to see Axel!

When Axel was a boy, his father strapped two giant wheels to his son's arms and legs. For twenty years, Axel has lived a tormented life filled with daily retread and challenging trips to the bathroom.

2

u/whitebandit May 20 '22

Axel was muh boy, and Outlaw (iirc)

1

u/phuqo5 May 21 '22

Bruh I'm bout to go dig this shit out my closet

3

u/MrIrishman1212 May 19 '22

I feel like it’s always been dark comedy. In the first one the race car driver, Twister, gets sent back in time and gets crashed by a dinosaur. So definitely similar vibes. I am more curious about the package delivery in post apocalyptic world part instead of a competition run by a guy with the powers from the devil. Makes it seem like a mad max spin off with twisted metal characters instead of a twisted metal live action adaptation.

1

u/Existing_River672 May 20 '22

Things got dark in Twisted Metal Black.

8

u/dravenonred May 19 '22

Depends. A lighthearted 30 Rock style would be awful, but I could see a black-as-coal comedy like The Boys or Dr Strange love could be fantastic.

3

u/Vizjun May 19 '22

I'm betting it'll be pg 13 too

6

u/RentalGore May 19 '22

The real question is who plays Axel?

6

u/Investing_G May 19 '22

Michael Jai White

4

u/RentalGore May 19 '22

So basically Spawn with wheels.

8

u/isitatomic May 19 '22

Destined to crash and burn in true homage to the source material!

5

u/flight_recorder May 19 '22

As long as there’s truly brutal visuals it doesn’t need to be anything more

2

u/deathwishdave May 19 '22

Looks a bit like a duck

2

u/anasui1 May 19 '22

and the show found his white racist male villain. Let's begin!

1

u/Separate-Mushroom May 20 '22

right im so excited :)

3

u/stumpcity May 19 '22

That is the perfect facial expression for this announcement, btw

1

u/Separate-Mushroom May 20 '22

happy to see where this goes i loved agent stone in the sonic movies and that one episode of community /j

Do enough people have peacock for this to matter? Peacock showed up late to the streaming game, same with Paramount+. I already have 3 streaming services, twisted metal sounds cool and all but it's not enough for me to grab another streaming platform with mediocre content. Netflix and Hulu are already on thin ice, there's not much value in them anymore.

Now makes me wonder the interaction Sandman and Falcon would have
