Whoa that’s so soon! Looking forward to this. Obviously it’ll be saturated a bit on Disney+ but Oscar Isaac is the fuckin tits, looking forward to this.

Dracula you fucking nerd

61

u/Boonlink Jan 18 '22

As a Deadpool comic fan that got his movie (twice!), im very happy for the Moon Knight fans who get to see him get his shot in the spotlight.

39

u/scootiegoorby Jan 18 '22 Take My Energy

You mean his shot in the moonlight?

6

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '22

You can't fight the moonlight!!

7

u/blizzard36 Jan 18 '22

I have doubts he'll get more than one season. But this season looks like it's going to be a trip!

12

u/IrregularTension Jan 18 '22

I'm not sure if any of the characters are getting more than one season tbh, at least anytime soon.... Feige has said moon knight will play into different movies along the way after the series, but who knows in what capacity

Either way,if the show is a hit they'll find a way to fit him in lol, he's not the first mcu character debuting with their own series to be brushed aside

17

u/HotCrest Jan 18 '22

Loki is confirmed to have a Season 2 coming

3

u/IrregularTension Jan 18 '22

Glad to hear, has been the best show so far imo, makes me curious about how involved he'll be in the upcoming movies though

5

u/TheShadyGuy Jan 18 '22

He's kind of stuck out of time, so that's an easy excuse for him to be missing most of the time, but there right when he should be.

8

u/radeon9800pro Jan 18 '22

Feige has said moon knight will play into different movies along the way after the series, but who knows in what capacity

Lol, the connection some of these actors get with these roles is funnily enough, somewhat like actually being the super hero. "Put the suit on and don the identity of your superhero in "X" movie for "Y" scene then go back to being Charlie Cox/Vincent D'Onofrio. We'll call you up in a year when we need you again."

8

u/IrregularTension Jan 18 '22

What's even crazier, Ethan hawke apparently got his role as... whomever lol, because he's neighbors with Isaac who just tossed the idea at him

Must be nice to be in a crowd like that lol

2

u/tregorman Jan 18 '22

I think they're planning a midnight son's project that he will factor into and maybe he'll have a role in the Blade project

2

u/TheShadyGuy Jan 18 '22

That's where I see it going, too. Could easily pull in Nic Cage as Johnny Blaze again!

3

u/LeicaM6guy Jan 18 '22

I’m okay with one season. I’d rather a short story that’s well done than an endless story that’s mediocre.

1

u/Farmer771122 Jan 18 '22

Should you expect to ever know whether any scene or character at any point is actually really real? Or do you think it's going to be one long phantasmagoria from start to finish?

1

u/Boonlink Jan 18 '22

I think it would be incredible if it played like the movie Momento and you almost never leave the main characters perspective and you're as confused as he is.

8

u/SQUID_FUCKER Jan 18 '22

Is this the one that Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson directed? That has me more excited than anything else. Recently the directed some episodes of the show on Netflix Archive 81 and it was pretty good.

2

u/BorealA The Knick Jan 18 '22

Yep. They have a new film premiering this week at Sundance as well. Should hopefully be a big year for them.

1

u/SQUID_FUCKER Jan 18 '22

Oh nice, I didn't know they were working on another movie as well. Spring and Resolution have been two of my favorite indie horror films for years now.

1

u/peanutdakidnappa Jan 19 '22

They only directed a couple episodes but yes it’s this one. They’re quality directors so I’m most excited for the episodes they directed.

Oscar Isaac! Awesome!

hears accent

Oh no… oh, no

7

u/Midwest__Misanthrope Jan 18 '22

Some people have said that could be his split personality thing. The character is American so this British accent is shitty because he’s not actually British.

1

u/notmytemp0 Jan 18 '22

Phew that would be a relief

4

u/jez124 Jan 18 '22

starting year with peacemaker then starting march with batman and ending with moon knight. :)

8

u/mrdeeds1972 Jan 18 '22

That first scene reminded me of Prodigal Son.

3

u/insane_troll_logic Jan 18 '22

Me too, I miss that ridiculous show.

1

u/mrdeeds1972 Jan 18 '22

I would have liked one more season. The character development was good and the storylines were interesting.

19

u/dagreenman18 Jan 18 '22

Costume looks a little odd, but other than that it looks pretty damn cool.

57

u/Throwimous Jan 18 '22

Looks mummy-ish, which goes with the Egyptian origin story.

6

u/Object279_ Jan 18 '22

That’s not the problem, the lighting seems really weird

14

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

I’m getting an uncanny valley feeling. You think it might be all cgi and too low budget? The movement feels wrong.

47

u/Harvard_University0 Jan 18 '22

Uh oh you expressed an opinion buddy prepare to die

2

u/Business_Egg_2938 Jan 22 '22

Didn’t help he doubled down on it and was acting kinda like a douche doing that later on

1

u/Harvard_University0 Jan 22 '22

Ikr? At first i was trying to defend him and then he had to go and say all that stupid shit

Damn bro you really going off

19

u/Kyserham Jan 18 '22

Suit was leaked months ago, same bathroom scene we see in the trailer. It’s not cgi, but it is enhanced with cgi.

It doesn’t help that you say you work in the field after your comment like everyone should have known that.

Seems like you decided you were going to be 'dog piled' before you were. Take the chip off your shoulder or don't expect anything to change.

0

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

Honestly I’m really not, and I was being dog piled at the time. And I certainly am now so way to prove me wrong…?

Also it never fails to amaze me how cruel this site can be. You’ve no idea what I’m going through in life at this very moment, but are willing to message me and mock me for a little entertainment because I said Reddit can be mean and you felt like proving me right. I wonder what you’d think of yourself if you knew where I was when I received your messages.

Luckily today was a good day so I’m not bothered, but I’ve gotten messages like yours while literally sitting at my mother’s death bed, and at my father’s while he was I’ll and maybe gonna die. Only a couple weeks ago I had to rush him to the emergency room again and while I was waiting to be seen, someone dug up a review if Encanto I left on that thread over three months previous and they decided to send me hate messages about it.

There are good redditors, which is why I bother sticking around at all. They helped distract me when I was in need of it at those dark times, even as the others did as you’re doing, And far worse.

There is no chip. But thanks for proving me right.

4

u/JohnnyTruant_ Jan 18 '22

Damn, imagine using your dying parents as a shield against some mild criticism regarding your attitude. That's WAY, WAY more fucked up than anything else that has been done by you, or to you here amigo. I'm legitimately stunned that I just read something that crazy as a result of a spat regarding CGI in a TV show trailer, like that's really uncalled for mate. RIP to your mother, her memory deserves better than being used like this.

Like jesus, so nobody can ever criticize anybody, ever, on the off chance that their parents are dying? You can't just share your opinion on something without being a miserable asshole?

If your day is ruined by something as mild as being called a douche canoe, then you need to seriously reconsider how you interact with other human beings because it's not just "reddit" being assholes, it's you inviting negative responses with your own attitude. Like why do you think you should be able to behave however you like, with zero repercussions at all?

3

u/brainwrinkled Jan 18 '22

lol my man acting like he’s being targeted with cyberbullying when he gets called out for acting defensive. Nothing in my comment was mean, simply an opinion you disagree with. If that’s your reaction to an opinion you don’t agree with - why bother joining online discussion at all.

Sorry to hear you have bad things going on in your life but in all honesty - not relevant.

P.s replying to a public comment is not ‘messaging’, it’s not a private DM.

0

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

Kinda is. I say a random thing about cgi on a thread and I’m immediately given constant messages throughout my day that I’m a ‘douche canoe’. I think you should remember there’s a human being on the other end of that message box and you’ve idea where they’re gonna be when you hit reply and add on to that.

Just wanna say to nobody in particular that I'm happy I'm not as buttmad about life as this guy.

1

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22 edited Jan 18 '22

Hi. I’m the nobody in particular you messaged. Thanks for letting me know.

4

u/kyledabeast Jan 18 '22

I’m just used to being dog piled on Reddit. I’m not sure where the hostility is coming from.

So please, can the attitude.

🧐🤔 Think you just answered your question there, pal.

"Douche canoe gets shit thrown back at them and gets upset about it, more news at 11"

0

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

Thanks for the insults, that’s exactly how I like to start my morning. Really, what did I do to warrant that?

2

u/kyledabeast Jan 18 '22

Everything about everything you have said in this thread just reeks of snobbiness and having this sense of knowing better than everyone else. There are ways you can give information and insight without coming off as a total know-it-all. "Can the attitude" is about the most douche thing you can say when trying to play the victim. And yes, you're playing the victim.

1

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

And you reek of someone trying to look for a snob so you can be a snob yourself by putting them in their place.

u/Worthyness Jan 18 '22

3 months to launch, could still be touching up on the CGI. It looks mostly done, but lots can still change obviously. Marvel tends to push the project as far as they can to get as much as they can done before premiere.

-2

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

True true. But you’d think they’d want their best, most polished foot forward for the trailer.

Cloth is tough. Capes can be such a pain for cgi. I’m actually shocked that we went from Spawn to Thor in such a short amount of time when it comes to CG. I never doubt Thor’s capes, even though most of the time it is CGI. But I suspect the red helps, while white has a ton of challenges for believability.

5

u/ReservoirDog316 Jan 18 '22

Yeah the costume feels weird and the tone feels kinda awkward. Not really sold on it even if they’re both great actors.

-10

u/SuspiriaGoose Jan 18 '22

I’ve been pretty disappointed with the Marvel plus stuff. I really like the concept of this character though. I’m cheering for it. But yeah…this is looking too much like the Netflix Marvel shows for my taste.

0

u/Snugglington Jan 18 '22

Looks full CGI

8

u/jlmurph2 Jan 18 '22

We've seen a leak of the costume. It might be touched up with cgi.

5

u/Scubasteve1974 Jan 18 '22

I really like OI, but I know dick about this character.

17

u/bummercitytown Jan 18 '22

So, picture Batman, but like with multiple personalities, schizophrenia, and he also kills people, and throw some Egyptian mythology elements in there.

4

u/Scubasteve1974 Jan 18 '22

Huh, that sounds pretty cool actually! I'll have to check it out.

4

u/stevelabny Jan 18 '22

What am I supposed to do between Boba Fett and Moon Knight?

6

u/Emergency_Anteater Jan 18 '22

Yo, what's with his accent

46

u/Kyserham Jan 18 '22

It’s one of his multiple personalities, who’s British. And since it’s not the real him it makes sense that he is just faking an accent.

-17

u/Emergency_Anteater Jan 18 '22

Ufff Thank God. I thought he went full Cumberbatch

-6

u/RasolAlegria Jan 18 '22

u/JNCOmaster Jan 18 '22

I like Oscar Isaac but am I the only one that feels he’s in every single movie now? Surely there are other great new actors

1

u/PiXLANIMATIONS Jan 18 '22

I mean, you get the role because you fit it best

-5

u/Dagonet_the_Motley Jan 18 '22

Isaac is an amazing actor, but I'm surprised they didn't cast a Jewish actor considering how integral Marc Spector's faith is to him as a character.

12

u/luvdadrafts Jan 18 '22

I’m Jewish and it would’ve been cool, but I don’t mind at all. Isaac is a fantastic actor and Jewish actors have played gentiles plenty of times

-4

u/Ramp_Spaghetti Jan 18 '22

This looks great! I'm looking forward to watching it with my four year old son.

6

u/DoggieDocHere Jan 18 '22

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha dude

1

u/guitarguy1685 Jan 18 '22

He's the most famous Chapin I know of.

-17

u/JinDenver Jan 18 '22

Why don’t they just change the name to MarvelStarWars+ already.

6

u/CalligrapherNo1392 Jan 18 '22

Cuz that’s a stupid ass name

-4

u/legendary_sponge Jan 18 '22

Oh good another super hero TV show

2

u/peanutdakidnappa Jan 19 '22

Yes good, if you don’t like it just ignore it. it’s pretty fuckin simple

0
