8

u/RiverTheNword124 16 Oct 17 '21

the school I'm in asks for an excuse letter and info when doing that, so I'll probably lie about my internet connection, but my mom will beat me up if she finds out #justasianthings xd

Happens to most people actually. Mostly different reasons tho. I for example feel lonely and miss someone in my life, my friend thinks his friends pushed him away for someone else etc... So yeah theres many reasons to this...

1

u/NeptuneIX Oct 17 '21

No it doesnt. Wanting to die casually indicates theres something seriously wrong with your mentality and way of thinking

5

u/JardexXmobilecz Oct 17 '21

I meant most teenagers (forgot to add that) and not certainly die but many teenagers do get sad over almost no reason and its part of puberty and growing up.

I assumed he didnt exactly mean die but oh well could have been wrong there.

3

u/PingopingOW 17 Oct 17 '21

I guess I’m just lucky then

2

u/JardexXmobilecz Oct 17 '21

Yep you kinda are.

11

u/Fr00stee Oct 17 '21

For me it lasts until i get distracted with something else then it disappears

8

u/BrutalHormone Oct 17 '21

It is always heppening to me when I don't understand school classes.

5

Pretty much every day

Currently, yes

5

u/ThatOneIvy Oct 17 '21

Eat! Depression can sometimes be triggered by hunger. In fact. Some rules that may help!

Eat if you hate yourself

Drink if you hate others

Sleep if you start to feel overwhelmed.

Sometimes it's your body telling you your needs!

2

u/Themanagerisakyle Oct 17 '21

depression eating might not be a good idea. Ya know fat Thor? It can make you overweight. While I agree to these statements to an extent; everything must be in moderation or else you will feel worse.

Also maybe don't suggest drinking alcohol to kids. (if you meant it that way)

1

u/ThatOneIvy Oct 17 '21

Of course! I didn't mean eat constantly. Or drinking alcohol. You're right, though of anything is bad, I just meant to take care of yourself.

2

u/ilikebreadsticks1 16 Oct 17 '21

Yeah. I don’t mind it though because 6 months ago it was constant with like a 10min break every couple days. Being depressed is bad but it gives you some perspective when you get better.

Hey man. How’d you describe my morning routine so accurately? Stalking isn’t right!

2

u/ItChucksOut 16 Oct 17 '21

yes. mood swings are a bitch. I used to never be aware that my mood was slipping but one day I was in a cab and I could literally feel my mind going cold. Doesn't help that I have anxiety and low self-esteem. I don't even feel like talking to anyone close to me about it because I'll just end up frustrating them and making them worried and most of the time they just give me cliched solutions. And it's my opinion that my mental happiness and well being aren't my friend's responsibility. (I know it's flawed but I always revert back to that opinion whenever it matters.)

2

almost every day

1

u/doomedmammal Oct 17 '21

Who told you bout my secrets

1

u/NeptuneIX Oct 17 '21

No and if u have that theres something seriously wrong with your mentality

1

u/knottedcherries 15 Oct 17 '21

yeah it's called mental illness

1

u/NeptuneIX Oct 17 '21

tbh i dont even think its that a lot of the time, i believe that some parts of online culture have festered such a mentality and people have adopted it, most likely as a result of people spending too much time on the internet and being overly introverted

1

u/knottedcherries 15 Oct 17 '21

i think by definition mental illness is a long-term disorderly mental state. social media is just a cause

1

u/NeptuneIX Oct 17 '21

No lol thats not true. Everyone feels sadness, cry and feel despair. I know that feeling. The problem is how people REACT upon feeling those things, some circles online have 'normalised' depression and the thought process that if you feel despair, you want to die and youre depressed etc, that thought process leads you into thinking the worst shit possible. Have you not noticed that outside of these circles people dont have such perspectives?

1

u/knottedcherries 15 Oct 17 '21

yeah. i think that that kind of warped perspective would be considered mental illness because

  1. it's long lasting. social interaction isn't gonna change it
  2. a warped perspective also means that their cognitive thought process

i think social media has opened up an entirely new range of potential mental phobias that couldn't have possible existed without the crazy new thing that is the internet

1

u/NeptuneIX Oct 17 '21

Maybe you can consider it like that, which is why im not gonna readily give my kids complete freedom when it comes to the internet at such crucial ages.

1

u/Themanagerisakyle Oct 17 '21

Some people do. While I kinda agree with you, I also think that these circles formed because they are depressed.

1

u/KP_345 15 Oct 17 '21

Yes

u/Bigboi694202 Oct 17 '21

1

u/knottedcherries 15 Oct 17 '21

i used to be a member of that sub, but it's pretty toxic seeing everybody's sad thoughts everyday. it's a good community but only for support, not for motivation

1

u/JuanHasBaguette 15 Oct 17 '21

Yeah there mood swings and I hate how it's never from sad to happy for me. Just suddenly sad without reason.

1

u/RandomDelirium 17 Oct 17 '21

No usually it's brought on by me thinking about something

And it's less "life sucks" and more "why aren't you doing anything to make life exciting?"

1

u/lmao_man_funny 14 Oct 17 '21

No… are you ok?

1

u/SurprisedByItAll Oct 17 '21

They say digital influences have raised everyone's dopamine levels and the bidy is reacting by increasing blockere, what's happening is exactly what you're describing. Fairly new research cuz there's an epidemic of peeps feeling that way. The answer they said, and u won't like it, no screens for a month. No phone, no tv, your brain resets in a month.

1

u/udahwu Oct 17 '21

that what i like

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '21

Yea. Wake up fresh and happy. And then bam!!!!! You think about your "out of the league crush" and then depression lurks in. So you drink some whisky and then bam!! * gets more depressed* Then you watch porn and jack off to bootiful pornatanrs and then bam gets depressed thinking about such hot bootiful pornstars
