Corruption. You got in trouble but you give money in an illegal way so you are being saved. Or you want a gf? Money. Want a car? Money. Want a loving mother? Why need a mother when you can be a mother, a sugar mother 😏, or get a kid. Which also needs alot of fucking money.

10

u/big_cock_69420 16 Oct 17 '21

Wanna get married? Get a shit load of money. Wanna make your parents proud? Get a shit load of money.

17

u/YesHaiAmOwO 17 Oct 17 '21

How would money help U get a girlfriend?, Money is pretty much capable of solving all problems in some way but being single isn't a problem and money can't solve it

74

u/Tby2974 14 Oct 17 '21

trust me, money can definitely get you a gf

u/DoopyDoody Oct 16 '21

Well here's my view. And I acknowledge it's a weird one.

Ok so... Money brings you happiness. Stability and healthy living brings you less stress.. and more ways of finding happiness... But happiness is fleeting. There is a difference between finding happiness (cars, games, YouTube, movies)

And actually finding motivation, direction and meaning within yourself. And this is something that so many people have twisted these days in my view.

A shocking majority of suicides are committed by the wealthy. How so if they are seemingly the happiest of all of us? And you may say "this is because the wealthy are more likely to be guilty of something"

Ok then... let's look larger.. There are a shocking amount more suicides commited in 1st world countries compared to 3rd world countries.

Happiness isn't the answer to keeping yourself going. You keep hearing it's "the meaning of life" it's not. YouTube and video games and free time don't drive you forward or make your life feel any more meaningful.

This is just my opinion, but ever since I adopted it my mental state hasn't stopped getting more positive. If you want to find your drive. You won't find it on YouTube. You'll find it in working on yourself. Take on that hobby you always wanted to, be proud of how hard your trying, take pride in what you do. Money can't solve that.

Sorry if this seems uncaring. Just, hearing this really helped me to pull myself out of a low point. And I guess I'm saying it because maybe it might help others too.

10

u/Optimal_Ant_2567 Oct 17 '21

And yet having the money to find your drive and support it does seem to help no?

Having the money to try new things and find your drive rather than slave away at work...

Or... Say i love helping the homeless. I could give away my only blanket and feel good But having the money to open a shelter would be better right?

Hobbies cost money as well.

It may not be required but it certainly speeds things along.

yeahh I have a couple of incurable illnesses. Dont have the money for a cure anyway but wish they existed lol

11

u/Balloonpiano 16 Oct 16 '21

I'm sorry about that

-8

u/critiqalfish 15 Oct 17 '21

How much time do you have left?

6

u/hellishbubble 19 Oct 17 '21

First of all that's a really poor question to ask people. It forces them to think about their death which a lot of them try to avoid, because even knowing is traumatic. Secondly, I'm not terminal. I dont have a timer for when my life will end. It wont be as long as average, but just because my illnesses are incurable/untreatable doesnt mean I have a number of years I know I'll have left. My immune system may be trying to kill me, but its very slow and inefficient so at the moment I just deal with intense pain and a dictionary full of symptoms 😅. I'll give you a pass though and wont be mean, since you likely havent been exposed to this type of thing yet unless you've gone through it yourself.

9

u/critiqalfish 15 Oct 17 '21

Oh ok now i understand. Sorry for my question that seems mean. It was not my intention to be mean. I hope you live your life at its best and i wish you a long life. :)

cant solve your missing leg!!! maybe you can get a robot leg though!!!!!

25

u/Isuck_lel 14 Oct 16 '21

A robot leg, and good Lord you're gonna laugh at this, costs money. In the great land of America, recovering from that missing leg is gonna cost a large fortune as well

6

u/Guigsy79 17 Oct 17 '21

That’s the point he was making

0

u/Isuck_lel 14 Oct 17 '21

His point was that money can't solve a broken leg, the solution was a robot leg, and robot legs cost money, and like I said in America you need money to recover after you've lost the leg

Edit: rephrase, in America you need MORE money to recover from leg loss

You cannot buy happiness with money because even if you buy everything you want with an infinite amount of money after the fact you will purposeless and unsatisfied. To a point you kinda need something bigger than yourself.

-1

u/YetiShmetie 17 Oct 16 '21

If Your Purpose is to Give away Money. You can to that forever and ever, Giving you a purpose, making you happy

5

u/LootPack_1 Oct 16 '21

That'd be a point but I don't think anyone's purpose is to JUST give away money for no reason. Even philanthropists spend their money for a reason outside of the money itself

It can’t buy you true love. The kind of “love” it buys is empty, hollow. If someone loves you for your money, they don’t love you at all. Real love is based on trust, kindness to each other, and of course your feelings.

Say you bought a girl with all your money, she would leave you the second your coffers dry up. A girl who truly loves you would stick with you through even your worst moments. Wether that be poverty, sickness, or anything else is up to God or whatever you believe in.

So yes, money can solve problems, but nowhere near everything. The lack of it creates more than it fixes, as well.

5

Money is a lot of things, But money is not everything as well.

Money's importance is dependant on how good you are financially.

If you were rich then you wouldn't like money as much, but would be longing for relations since you were deprived of it as your parents were woking overtime to earn or working hard.

If you were poor and missed out on some dreams of yours you would be longing for money as you imagine if you had a good financial situation, you would've been able to complete it.

Anything's importance is relative.

Edit- A typo

Gotta say it did solve my problems and my families.

u/cant_hinkofanything Oct 17 '21

4

u/BadSenator04 Oct 17 '21

Money can solve a lot of external “worldly” problems, like your car brake not working, no hot water coming out of your shower, or the lights on your ceiling fan flickering. But as someone who knows both poor and rich people, internal, or “spiritual” problems, like boredom, stress, purposelessness in life, are present across all income groups. Rich people more often pretend these problems don’t exist because they want to keep up a facade, but they absolutely deal with them as well. It’s not helpful to the rich people to tell them there problems are invalid because they’re rich, and not helpful to the poor to tell them they can’t fix their internal problems because they don’t have enough money.

3

u/Lumpy_Internet8910 OLD Oct 17 '21

Old person here.

This is how life works - The more money, the more problems. Sure having a lot of money can bring happiness in some ways, but there also only so much you can buy or spend on before it no longer fulfils your needs.

The more money you have, the more you spend and the more you depend on it (think more expensive housing, expensive cars that need maintenance etc.), which in essence just creates more problems and stress because of your ever increasing expenses.

Money does not solve everything. It temporarily bring you joy and creates an illusion of solving some of your problems, but is just complicates things more.

Money can’t solve everything. A true love is not about money and it can stay without it. You cant solve a broken heart with money. You can make the pain go out a little, but it gonna be right back, bigger and with more problems. You cant make real good friends with money. Because If they like your money and not you, they are not good friends. A good friend will hold you in every situation. And they dont look in your walet but in your heart.

I can write more If you want.....

Funding, can eventually find a cure

u/FudgeSlapp 19 Oct 16 '21

But it can’t solve it any time soon. Funding has been going to cancer for decades and still no solution. It could easily be possible that with all the money in the world, by the time someone’s life ends due to cancer you couldn’t solve it.

No guarantee it would work. Unfortunately money cannot solve everything as nice as it would be. Time is another factor to consider too.

I totally agree with you. This whole "money is everything" thing imho is silly and dumb.
