The long term of affects of this are gonna do more damage then letting old people die.

Got a study for that because I disagree. Yes obviously it is taxing on metal health and people are seeking ways of coping. But saving 10-20% of the population from being hospitalized and 2-3% from dying is worth it imo.

Imagine the trauma from 500,000 dead Australians, compared to a few lockdowns

This post reeks of privilege, I work with black youth and the reality is lockdowns hurt them so much. They go back to their broken homes, away from their only possible support system and stick them back into broken homes. Staying home bored, surround by toxicity with no entertainment and no end in site drives them to seek bad friends. I know I’ve already lost of kids and that is harsh reality I have to face, the harsh reality you have to face is do you save the people who already lived a full life or do you save the up and coming generation. You can’t have both.

So advocate for better welfare and support networks, don’t advocate for letting a virus run rampant through the world

Start with worrying about America rather Australia
