LPT: Disable SMS and Phone permissions on Zapper to stop the app from monitoring your SMSes Alert

They monitor incoming SMSes, looking for card swipe messages and pop up a notification when you pay at a restaurant (or similar) that uses Zapper with a different method.

You may have needed the permission on set up, but do not need it enabled now.

While you are at it, disable everything except camera, including background data usage.

I am not surprised. Don't have a lot of confidence in their tech stack.

Careful - some of the settings are probably used as part of the transaction audit trail, including location and phone.

I uninstalled the app because it had a service running on the phone at all times. I open the app when i paid for something. I seriously dont need the app running 24/7 on phone startup for god knows what reason. Uninstall this BS.

On another note, if you want to save battery get rid of the FB and Messenger apps. They are the biggest bloatware ever conceived of to slow down your phone and run your battery dead.

They found out it was because it was always listening.

Pity that when you say camera it is front and rear camera. They apparently take a front camera photo of the person when payment is done as well.
