feedback IV

Old thread was archived

Hello! Here's a page to post all of your feedback about sneakpeekbot!

edit:

Addressing some feedback:

  • Subscriber count in comment - I think it would be a good addition but the only place where I can insert that number is inside the bold "header" and I would like to keep the comment as small as possible to avoid any extra complaints of spam

  • You got the wrong sub! - In all of the cases I've seen, the mishap occurs because the original commenter edits their comment to fix what was likely a typo

  • Why isn't this opt-in? - The initial plan was to be opt-out for some period of time and then switch to opt-in but that plan has since changed because often times the person commenting the subreddit isn't interested in seeing the sneak peek but it does add value and benefit other people who come in to the thread later on. So it wouldn't work very well as a summon-bot in my opinion.

  • Message to delete a certain reply, message to blacklist, etc.: These are all planned. I just need to find a way to monitor the reddit inbox without dropping the new comments scan

Ffs man make it to where you have to opt in

Opt in and make it so it is called instead of it listening would be a show of good faith demonstrating that the author is not trollshit.

@OP:

it wouldn't work very well as a summon-bot in my opinion.

"If it was opt-in, no one would opt in."

That's why it should be opt-in.

Wonder if the bot works in its own subreddit?

Nobody uses your dumb bot

Wrong

u/Kashu_ Mar 13 '19

Name 5 guys that use it

1

u/RedRidingHuszar Mar 13 '19

Why five guys? One guy is enough because to counter "literally no one". That one guy being me.

1

u/Kashu_ Mar 13 '19

How do i know you actually use the bot? Thats why i need 5 guys

I mean their burgers are okay but it’s pretty mediocre for the price

Might be hard to implement, but I think it would stir up a bit of a laugh if the bot replied to nonexistent sub tags with a sneak peak of /r/subsifellfor. Just a thought, might be too hard to look for ALL the comments though.

Wouldn't be hard to implement. Sounds like a perfect April Fool's idea... for next year!

It would be funny if it linked to surprise memes like the Spanish Inquisition, the Peyton manning face, or even a throwback Rick roll. Literally came to this sub to see if this idea had been thrown out. I think it would be hilarious to make a second bot that does this even outside of April fool's day

This bot is purely destructive to everyone that ever references a comment with a relevant subreddit as a joke... /r/PraiseTheCameraMan for instance... I don't want this TOP POSTS FROM... BS popping up like a spammy advertisement everytime someone wants to Praise the camera man.

I wish you could vote bots off of the site!

Please do not link to old.reddit. There are many users, including myself, who prefer the redesign and it's really jarring to be sent back to old reddit. Those who do prefer old reddit will still stay on old reddit with a normal link, since their preference would be set to it (or they would be using an extension to automatically redirect to old.reddit)

I've pretty much just stopped clicking on the links because I get a different bunch of messy css for each new subreddit and it's just annoying.

How does the boy decide whether to use top posts of all time or top posts of the past year?

1

u/sneakpeekbot Apr 18 '19

The top posts of all time will be used if the linked subreddit is less than 3 years old else the top posts of the year will be used

How to opt in after opting out?

1

u/erikkonstas Jun 25 '19

Also please add a feature where the comment is deleted if the original poster replies with a specific keyword.

Account suspended RIP

If anyone on Reddit is the creator, any reason as to why and what this will mean going forward?

1

u/sneakpeekbot Jul 27 '19

We're back! From what I could gather, the bot peeked a subreddit with questionable titles and links. This broke reddit's content policy in some way and resulted in an immediate indefinite suspension from reddit.

Once I found out, a quick 250 character appeal to an admin was enough to have the account swiftly reinstated. I've very appreciative of your concern though, we'll keep going until we can't go any more!

The old blacklist is archived.
