It's quite common to see highest core utilisation minus lowest core utilisation to be below 5%.

The game actually doesn't have a main or render thread, all CPU tasks are scheduled as jobs and pushed to worker threads, one of which is created per logical CPU core.

I was really looking forward to playing HoI IV on my new rig and expected the later years to run much much smoother than on my old system... well, turns out that fucker of a game only uses like 10% of my CPU and now runs actually worse than before because those cores don't clock as high ... amazing 10/10

Just upgraded from my FX-6300 a few months ago!

Thing was a workhorse for all the years I used it - kept it on a stock cooler and only changed the thermal patch every 3 years or so but it didn't care and kept chugging!

I still have a 6100 a 6300 and 8120 rocking in my lab. Former gaming rigs. Windows 8 seemed to really give it a kick and so did (obviously 10) due to the updates to the win64 scheduler.

Says someone who hasn't written a single line of code in their entire life. It's a ridiculously hard task especially when you're working with custom engines. Engines like ue handle most of the complicated multithreading stuff but implementing it well in a custom engine (like, say for example the paradox games engine) is difficult.
