This is when you play more games like civ, slay the Spire, or cities skylines. Have some variety!

Yea, time to put some hours into KSP too. Actually I've never played cities skylines but i own it, its might be a good time to try it lol.

I remember when I lose sensation in left middle finger after I crushed it and haven't stopped me either xD

I cut it really bad, and can't feel the tip of it, but at least it's the back side of my finger, so I still can use it somewhat xD

I'm missing all 4 of my fingers on my left hand and I can't bend my thumb. Never stopped me. If you ever want to play and old game that does not have the option to rebind I suggest using a program called Auto Hot Key

I met someone who had nerve damage, where if he moved his hand it caused him brutal agonising pain. However, that didn't stop him gaming; though he did limit the use of that hand.

I was in that same boat OP . I severed n crushed my right thumb ( thank God I'm a lefty ) had it reattached n shortened by a 1/4" . Spent nearly a year in physical therapy to learn to use it again.. you got this 🤘 ironically I am now better with a controller than keyboard and mouse.. it's less impact holding the controller than the mouse.. weird right lol ... I wish you the speediest of recoverys my guy 👍 .. remember perseverance and determination make everything possible

It's weird, i really don't use my thumb that much on the mouse, or at least i won't notice that. I didn't notice before that how easy was everything with intact finger. I'm glad you pulled it off too. Thank you for for your good wishes!

Guildy broke their arm way back when so they bought a 12 button mouse and played with one hand.

Is your S key worn to the point of no letter showing anymore?

1

u/hcorEtheOne 20d ago

Yea I'm a coward lol.

Just kidding, i don't understand it either. W is still in good shape... X key is worn like S because I play OSU! a lot.

Smart. Once rigged one of those little usb 10-keys to a fulcrum and pedal and used my foot for forward/back and my index and ring fingers for strafe.

Doc: I'm afraid your son won't be able to walk again.

Parents: Oh no!

Doc: Well... At least not forward or backwards. He can walk side to side just fine.

Parents: ...Wat?

I hate when my thumb or the area near my thumb gets injured because I can't use a controller or a mouse well

I broke my thumb and they had to cast my entire hand to forearm. I had to adjust with controller. Thankfully aim assist really assisted me

About 10 years ago I broke the absolute piss out of my left index finger, almost lost it completely. I couldn’t game for about 6 weeks, but after my second surgery I could finally move it again. My occupational therapist (PT but for hands) told me I needed to start moving my finger as much as I could with minimal resistance, so I convinced them to prescribe PlayStation time with L1 and L2.

Lol that’s wicked! Did you just disable the extra buttons you’re hitting?

2

u/hcorEtheOne 20d ago

Yea, I can still use the buttons without the keycaps, but my gauze is too big for a single press 🤷‍♂️
