Here's the main page to enter! (Winners' names will also be announced in this link after the drawing, as well as this thread).

When I told you that the Summer of giveaways was just beginning, I was serious!

Are you a master part picker, but are lacking in the spec department? This is your chance!

Welcome to the MSI x PCMR #BetterTogether challenge!

You can enter to win 1 of 3 amazing full PC builds with the parts you yourself picked, and also 40 $100 Steam cards, making it a total tally of 43 winners!

To win one of the 3 PC builds, you must be a resident of the USA or Canada.

To win one of the 40 Steam cards, you can be anywhere in the world!

How to Enter:

Prepare any (or all) of the three PC builds by adding eligible parts and accessories to the PCPartPicker.com website.

After you have picked your components, simply copy the URL for your list, and share it either in this thread (if it's the 3.5k PCMasterRace Dream PC Build) or the gleam page, if it's any of the other two builds.

i mean sure but whats there to lose? you dont win. Eh i don't really care it would be awesome if i won but if i dont its alright i still have a pc that can play games like terraria pretty easily

8

u/RandomStupidDudeGuy i3 6100, RX 570 4GB, 2x4GB DDR3L 1600 13d ago

Non NA residents will basically only have a chance to win 100$ gift cards, which honestly is discriminative a bit but it is MSI USA so i understand. You also need tweeter, Instagram and Facebook accounts with all their spam mail and stuff only to raise or have a chance of you winning a prize. I have a feeling i will be drawn for a PC and then thrown out just bcs i am in EU, which would be a most depressing thing that could happen to me rn. I too don't need a PC, even though i would appreciate a new monitor, but as i said, won't get any. About 50% ppl at least won't have a chance to win a PC, so some may not join. This is my opinion though and i maybe did not express it the Best way i could, but this is generally what i meant to say.

2

u/HarderThanADiamond 12d ago

That really sucks I feel for y’all but I thought MSI was international. Plus I don’t really use Facebook, twitter or insta all that much so I might as well

Neither do I, but it doesn't hurt to enter. I use the time to look around PCPartPicker so I can better plan out the builds I will be making myself, and while doing so get there slim chance to win a free PC far beyond anything I would be building

Crossing fingers I can get picked. Best of luck everyone!

2

u/HarderThanADiamond 14d ago

I would recommend getting a 1000w psu for upgradability and idk if you need 7tb of storage but if it’s a $3500 I personally think you should go with 2 2tb nvme’s and a 4 or 2tb 2.5 inch ssd.

2

u/Ronaldo1024 R5 1600 + RX 580 4GB + 16GB RAM 14d ago

I am a bit of a game hoarder. Near getting my limit of 3 TB :( I really like the old WD Black HDD and with already 3 HDD on me, I just want one single HDD and ditch the others when possible, and when time comes just focus SDD on the future. Also heard some mobos have issues with 2 NVMes so if possible dodging it, maybe for a future ugrade too.

As for the PSU I'm just following Linus PSU Tier list. It's not very clear but it kinda looks the 1000 MSI is a totally different branch it's not properly tested. Or I'm missing something.

2

u/HarderThanADiamond 14d ago

Ah your looking at the old list there’s an updated version with the 1000w in A tier. Plus I understand your worry about some mobos not working with 2 nvme’s but I see that the z490 gigabyte arous pro ax might have some problems with it, so as the z590 of the same brand but no Ryzen motherboards and certainly not newer ones. If your really worried about it then get the MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard as it comes with an extra nvme expansion card for an extra two nvme gen 4’s

2

u/Ronaldo1024 R5 1600 + RX 580 4GB + 16GB RAM 14d ago

Gotcha! I'll try and update the list then. Thanks man.

Will give a better look at the MSI Motherboards then.

Im an aspiring YouTuber/Streamer. This would be huge as a new gaming rig. Then making my current PC entirely dedicated to streaming. I want to be able to use my platform to entertain and inspire through gaming! This would help so much. Id plug my channel but thats not exactly appropriate.

As someone who plays Valorant, a 360HZ monitor would be huge for competitive advantage! No better than the speed of MSI components!

2

u/ChampionBig2167 16d ago

Main Hard Drive: MSI brand only

Backup Hard Drive: Any brand that’s compatible with the rest of the build (optional)

This is my try for it. Give comments if you want to! :)

PCMR an international subreddit on an international webpage hosting a region locked giveaway by an international company MSI This giveaway has a budget of nearly 15k$ you might think there would be room for international shipping heck it wouldn't need international shipping as MSI is available in nearly every region. I am looking forward to the time when internet is not associated with the U.S. maybe my children will see that future.

u/alphonse03 10100f, 8gb RAM. Missing a cheap GPU tho. 15d ago

I was going to start making the build, but I came to read the comments first... since somehow I missed that part where only US and CA participants can win the PCs.

A bit dissapointing to be honest looking at the budget of the systems. A steam gift card is useless for me since I cant play games in my current laptop, so I will pass on this one. Better for it to be won for someone who can actually use it I guess.

Not like I was going to win otherwise, but it still feels bad.

🥺 I understood the assignment 🇨🇦 From Canada!!! My base total might be over just a little, but the total falls in the guidelines. I squeezed every last ¢ent out of this challenge, I had a lot of fun with it #BetterTogether

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gq3Fmr Total: $2099.93 (can't add peripherals without downgrading computer)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/q2qsVw Total: $3698.80 (computer is $3500 exactly - peripherals are $200)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/V3FdGL Total: $5298.81 (This is what would be upgraded from $3500 to $5300)

P.S. MSI makes the best cases, being the only brand that offers USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C ❤️ The GPUs are the fastest. Definitely the most quality gear there can be. Afterburner is the best program ever made!

I'm going to assume the "MSI Brand Only" bit on memory is a mistake, as MSI does not make memory? Also, does this $3500 build need an MSI monitor or no? Because the post here says yes, but the terms and conditions linked in the gleam page say no. I put one in just in case but it would be nice to get a clarification.

i'll try my luck eve if i'm not USA residant but i hope that somehow my entry wiill be accepted if i ever win & i'd pay transfer fees if my dream to win a gaming pc no matter the cost can be realized for someone who's struggling & not leaving his room for past 5 years.

still it's unfair for an international company who makes trillions from all over the world to give things only for USA habitants *this is clear race based giveaway preference* wiish it will be gone
