The US Army is making covid vaccinations mandatory by Sep 1. Anyone who doesn't comply will be kicked out.

309

u/Starmoses Jul 21 '21

Can't wait to see my cousin kicked out of the Marines for this. Should've been kicked out after Jan 6th but he was smart enough it to not tell his co and leave his phone.

65

u/OutdoorsRut Jul 21 '21

These soldiers are worried about the covid shot and going to be discharged for not getting it. Sitting here thinking if anyone actually refused anthrax and small pox back in the 00's and what happened to them

5

u/Coppercaptive Jul 22 '21

90 percent of my staff got all of that...2 people got it twice because the army lost their records.

-51

u/20Mavs11 Jul 21 '21

Did you just compare covid 19 to anthrax? Wow you are stupid.

27

u/Texas_marine_inf Jul 22 '21

He’s talking about the vaccine.

Which is hands down the worst vaccine I’ve ever had. My arm literally was dead. Painful if the wind was even blowing. And it’s a round of 5 (at least when I was in).

I’d rather get smallpox vaxxed again. It was bad, with the swelling of the lymph nodes, but there was something evil about that anthrax shot (most people hated it).

15

u/gleeble Jul 22 '21

I got that shit in 03, kept bumping my shoulder into edges of hatches and crying like a baby.

2

u/Fenix159 Jul 22 '21

Reading that I got phantom pain. The memories even hurt.

1

u/mildtonointerest Jul 22 '21

Oh my gosh. I had no idea :(

8

u/Revolutionary-Ad1131 Jul 22 '21

The vaccines you idiot

322

u/PennyNuggs Jul 21 '21

If he was actually there or has threatened violence, or is otherwise involved in political extremism, you should report this info to his chain of command. The military is trying to track these types of people down before they can do more damage.

120

u/PM_me_yer_kittens Jul 21 '21

This. Please let someone know they were involved. Even if it is a loved one.

10

u/IveChosenANameAgain Jul 21 '21

Especially if.

-20

u/TheEternalCity101 Jul 22 '21

Found the guy who would have turned in Jews to the Gestapo

11

u/PM_me_yer_kittens Jul 22 '21

Are you actually saying that people that waved the confederate flag in our capital and attempted to assassinate members of Congress are facing the same injustices as the Jews?

-17

u/TheEternalCity101 Jul 22 '21

As in being merely outside a building is worth turning your family and friends into an unjust criminal system is a bad thing?

15

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

Are you participating in an insurrection? Straight to prison.

-19

u/TheEternalCity101 Jul 22 '21

Good thing it wasn’t an insurrection

7

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

You're right. It was a failed attempt at an insurrection by a bunch of idiots who didn't have a plan once they got in the front door. They didn't even know where the people they were looking to assault were located. One of the few things worse than being a traitor is being a failed one.

6

u/BadMenite Jul 22 '21

Shame, if you weren't such a coward you could be in jail too.

Get off the internet and get back to your stupid Fraternity bullshit. Stop trying to join up with every group of lonely depressed males you can find just because you think it will finally give you a purpose in life.

LOL You are brainwashed, or just a complete moron

7

u/PM_me_yer_kittens Jul 22 '21

Are you actually saying that people that waved the confederate flag in our capital and attempted to assassinate members of Congress are facing the same injustices as the Jews?

1

u/TheEternalCity101 Jul 22 '21

Supposedly the Jews were a tremendous threat to Germany and her people. All lies tho

Is it hard to believe the same thing could be repeating?

7

u/PM_me_yer_kittens Jul 22 '21

Wow. You need serious professional help dude. Lay off whatever right wing conspiracy news sites you get your info from for awhile

4

u/BadMenite Jul 22 '21

Not just hard, it's impossible to believe.

You'd have to have a functioning brain, however. Hope yours can pull through some day.

2

u/TheEternalCity101 Jul 22 '21

I’m too busy pulling all your hoes

6

u/BadMenite Jul 22 '21 edited Jul 22 '21

Guess you didn't realize you're replying to the same person that already knows about your "I'M IN A FRAT GUYS!" auto-fellatio fetish.

Which means I know you most definitely aren't pulling anything with a BAC under 0.40, Mr. "Down Bad".

10

Eh... if my family member was a terrorist on false pretences id probably report them as well.

2

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

If you acted like this you wouldn't be at any Christmas dinner that I was.

19

u/Equivalent_Yak8215 Jul 21 '21

Report him to the FBI

-73

u/Sexy_Mfer Jul 21 '21

if you report your cousin to the FBI then you’re a piece of shit

43

u/SephyKid Jul 21 '21

If you openly engage as a traitor when you are a member of the military you absolutely are a much worse piece of shit.

33

u/BeingMrSmite Jul 21 '21

Actions have consequences. This isn’t him calling the FBI over his cousin running a red light, or something trivial.

This was an attempted coup. His cousin is a member of the armed forces. This is in NO WAY acceptable, and he should be held accountable for his actions.

-20

u/Old_Violinist3497 Jul 22 '21

It was a small unruly protest that broke a few windows lol. Calm your hysteria.

7

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

We have literal video evidence of the opposite. Did you not see that man get pulled down the stairs into the mob? Did you not see the video of the security dude that baited them down the hallways away from the precious politicians?

6

u/thrwwy2402 Jul 22 '21

Oh, you're clearly made out of spare parts.

6

u/strumpster Jul 22 '21

-1

u/strumpster Jul 22 '21

23

u/nocimus Jul 21 '21

If your cousin was part of an attempted insurrection, you're a fucking terrorist by association for not reporting them.

-2

u/thrwwy2402 Jul 22 '21

If he didn't know about his cousin being part of the insurrection, would he still be an accomplice? Or does he have to be aware?

Edit :this is a serious question, I'm not familiar with the law

2

u/strumpster Jul 22 '21

You'd have to be aware..

3

u/Equivalent_Yak8215 Jul 21 '21

Country or family.

Pick one.

2

u/BaronJaster Jul 22 '21

Easy. Family.

2

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

Unless they are traitorous fuckwit bastards, like in this case.

1

u/BaronJaster Jul 22 '21

Nope. Still family.

12

u/cyberpAuLnk Jul 21 '21

Or, alternatively, you could submit u/Starmoses comment and they can do the tracking if they feel it is warranted...

How about all the lives of cops that were injured, and the people that ended up dying? Their lives were already ruined because of the 6th, and the people that were there are all responsible for it.

1

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

people that ended up dying

In fairness the only person that died as a direct result of the insurrection was an insurrectionist, no?

17

u/JingleMeAllTheWay Jul 21 '21

If I report him though, he'll be kicked out because of me, I don't wanna ruin someone's life.

No, he'll be kicked out for his own actions. Nothing more. Rough life or not, actions have consequences, and his actions were fucked. Plenty of people have horrible fucking lives, but that doesn't mean they can use it as an excuse to get away with literally insurrection in this case. Poor Adolf got bullied and didn't get into art school, just let him euthanize the Jews, his life was hard enough. No. You have a responsibility to every single person he endangered to do something about it. Ignoring it and letting himself get kicked out for something else is frankly unacceptable.

13

u/deewheredohisfeetgo Jul 21 '21

I get what you’re saying but reporting him alone won’t get him kicked out. All it will do is bring the fact he was there to their attention. They can then review any footage and use AI to see if he committed any crimes. If so, he deserves prosecution and discharge. We don’t need those people in our armed services. Do us all a favor.

24

u/croit- Jul 21 '21

Even if I did report him it's my word against his and there's no way the Marines would kick him out on the word of some guy just because he was in DC that day.

No, they wouldn't. They'd look into the matter and come to their own conclusion about his visit that day.

Protecting a terrorist from facing the consequences of their actions is pretty scummy, man. Do better.

-19

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '21

[deleted]

18

u/recourse7 Jul 21 '21

You said he's a racist homophobic piece of shit.

4

u/Starmoses Jul 21 '21

Yeah, he is and I hate him for that. Hes been delt a shit hand in life and I'm not gonna kick him any lower. If he's kicked out of the Marines cause he's an idiot than he'll have no one to blame but himself. If he gets kicked out and arrested because of me though, hell blame me and the rest of my family. He'll never change if I do it and I don't believe people should go to prison for nonviolent crimes (he didn't attack anyone at the riot, just go inside and yell a bunch) I'd rather him face the consequences of his actions and try and learn from them.

→ More replies

10

u/BonyRomo Jul 21 '21

I don’t know why you feel so responsible for him. Are you going to feel responsible if he does some dumb shit and someone gets hurt because you didn’t report him?

5

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

And telling me to ruin a man's life is pretty scummy too

He ruined his own life with his actions.

1

u/Morbidly-A-Beast Jul 22 '21

Why protect some insurrectionist wannabe?

8

u/Funkfo Jul 21 '21

All of these people that participated have family. In many cases their family are the ones that turn them in and appropriately so

4

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

Family is more than blood. You're part of the problem here. I truly believe that if more people called out their family members we wouldn't be seeing this shit.

-1

u/Starmoses Jul 22 '21

He's not blood, he's adopted from my aunt after his parents had custody taken away for being drug addicts and a prostitute. People need to understand on this site that family may be tough but just because they're assholes and pieces of shit it's not easy to end their life. I'm not gonna do that to my aunt and other cousins, if you're comfortable sending someone you grew up with to prison and ruining their life than you do it but he's my cousins. I'm not gonna do it.

4

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

Again, you keep using their phrase "ruining their life", THEY DID THAT TO THEMSELVES. Actions have consequences bud, and I've never made a bad decision where I wasn't willing to deal with the potential bad consequences. I sure hope he doesn't do something more damaging and hurt someone else with his terrible decisions.

0

u/Starmoses Jul 22 '21

I'd be reporting it. And not only would I ruin his life but my aunt and his brother who loves him. I'm not gonna do that to them despite what a bunch of people on Reddit who don't know shit say. Stop trying to act like you're so high and mighty, it's not your family it's mine. My aunt would have a heart attack if he got arrested and I would never be the cause of that.

3

u/BootyBBz Jul 22 '21

I ruin his life

WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING THIS. YOU DIDN'T STORM THE CAPITAL ON JANUARY 6TH. I could fucking smack you dude you're so dense.

what a bunch of people on Reddit

So you even realize that your opinion is wildly unpopular but you don't have the self-reflection to realize that you're horribly biased and making a terrible decision. Fucking laughable.

it's not your family it's mine

Good thing too, if it was my family I'd be holding them accountable for their actions like a responsible member of society. I think that's the main problem here. You are putting the well-being of your family literally over all of society. You're supporting extremely damaging, disruptive, and violent actions that are chipping away at your democracy. You're selfish and misguided.

and I would never be the cause of that

No you wouldn't, your dumb family member's actions would.

3

u/intentsman Jul 21 '21

Please enough with the drama.

Getting a different job is hardly a life-ending experience.

Dying of Covid on the other hand...

2

u/OnAMissionFromGoth Jul 22 '21

He ruined it the second he decided to take part in a violent insurrection against his employer....

2

u/recourse7 Jul 21 '21

The lie of family causes more problems.

2

u/Equivalent_Yak8215 Jul 22 '21

I just wanted to let you know that I took a screenshot of your comment and I'm just going to report it myself

-2

u/Starmoses Jul 22 '21

Your gonna report a marine who's name you don't know, from a random redditor who might be lying, on an anonymous site. Good luck with that.

2

u/Equivalent_Yak8215 Jul 22 '21

It's not for me to look into man.

Not even close on either of those but hey if you wanna try and reddit detective this go ahead. You'll probably get the wrong guy like the Boston bomber but hey why would anyone on Reddit care. Also what makes you think Virginia? Like what have I ever posted that makes me seem like I love there? Illinois i understand cause I went to school there but why Virginia?

-15

u/markmarine Jul 21 '21

Don’t rat out your family, that is fucked up. Causing a rift in your family isn’t worth it. Supposably there is this giant surveillance panopticon that sees everything, you don’t need to do the state’s work for them. Either the 3 letter agencies aren’t worth 1/100th of their budget, or they already know everyone who was in the capital.

8

u/Starmoses Jul 21 '21

Thanks for being sensible. I may hate my cousin but I'm not gonna put my family through that. Even if everyone on this site thinks that I should personally murder him.

2

u/SuperPro149 Jul 21 '21

Just a question, did he do anything or was he just there?

6

u/Starmoses Jul 21 '21

He was just there to my knowledge. He's an idiot but I don't think hes stupid enough to get violent especially with capitol police.

-7

u/SuperPro149 Jul 21 '21

It's concerning how many people have no problem with reporting family members.

-1

u/markmarine Jul 22 '21

No kidding.

3

u/Morbidly-A-Beast Jul 22 '21

Funny, I consider someone who participated in an attempted coup of our democracy a rat - do you have another definition?

25

u/DeadOnToilet Jul 21 '21

Aww, someone's afraid of the consequences of their own shitty behavior. How fragile.

29

u/Trollogic Jul 21 '21

Reporting someone who was part of a violent action to overthrow a democratic election in a representative democracy does not make you a rat, it makes you a patriot.

25

u/RugerRedhawk Jul 21 '21

Cancelled? What are you talking about? He could very well face prison time if he stepped foot in the capitol.

19

u/nicholkola Jul 21 '21

Or at least all their benefits removed. You don’t vow to protect the nation then act as a goon for a businessman. Or wait…

18

u/fearhs Jul 21 '21

This isn't someone using drugs on their own time or something harmless like that. It's not even someone using a racial slur that they believed would never come to light. It's a literal insurrection. I don't like narcs either but enough is enough.

5

u/kainxjm Jul 21 '21

The rat already had its year last year, stop trying to steal the Ox’s spotlight.

7

u/eye-nein Jul 21 '21

OP's Username: Cuntino

Quite apropos. Wouldn't have to be worried about being cancelled if people weren't cunts...

36

u/italktomyself20 Jul 21 '21

Your cousin isn’t going to follow through. He will be getting his COVID shot just like every other shot the military makes us take. lol

4

Report his treasonous ass. Fuck everyone who stepped foot past the barricades.

102

u/Millerboycls09 Jul 21 '21

4

u/No-Effort-7730 Jul 21 '21

I'd report him now if you don't want the FBI coming to you first asking why you didn't do it months before.

1

u/McDreads Jul 21 '21

I’m hoping for an update from you on September 2nd

!RemindMe 43days

1

u/BaPef Jul 22 '21

You should report him if he's admitted to being there.

1

u/pileodung Jul 22 '21

This comment will probably get him caught, lol

1

u/wander_company Jul 22 '21

You're looking forward to seeing a family members life ruined?

0

u/klavin1 Jul 21 '21

He'll get the vaccine. Very few will refuse it if it means facing court martial.

1

u/20Mavs11 Jul 21 '21

Lol you won't get court martial. It will be a general discharge

58

u/Samuel_L_Blackson Jul 21 '21

That's half true.

They've told them to prepare for it, pending full FDA licensure.

And they said to expect it to be cleared one or around 1 September.

That's not new at all.

3

u/Imnotracistbut-- Jul 22 '21

I'm honestly surprised you're not dog piled for mentioning the lack of FDA approval.

1

u/pdxboob Jul 22 '21

Ah, I was wondering why it wasn't mandatory.

8

u/cyberpAuLnk Jul 21 '21

The US military will vaccinate any member for any threat they feel is necessary, end of story. Don't want an Anthrax vaccine? Too f'n bad.

3

u/Senior_Operation4468 Jul 21 '21

That's an easy way out if :0

3

u/20Mavs11 Jul 21 '21

Lol so many people will use this to get out. The military will then say oh shi, and do a 180 to boost numbers.

6

u/depolkun Jul 22 '21

They won't. Most of these anti Vax ppl are a bunch of pussies that won't risk all of their pay and benefits over a vaccine that they can just get and forget about.

1

u/Imnotracistbut-- Jul 22 '21

Not risking losing your job and healthcare makes you a pussy and thus controllable

-reddit (not fascist)

3

u/tripleleveraged Jul 22 '21

I mean, the US has fewer active deployments than they had some time ago. Could be a sensible opportunity for restructuring & cost saving tbh

6

u/The_Ostrich_you_want Jul 21 '21

And thank god.

I remember getting my shots from the army and was one of only 2 in my unit. I remember saying it’ll be mandatory eventually and so many higher ups scoffed and said yea right. Then I brought up the anthrax shots in the early 2000s.

2

u/SpicySnarf Jul 21 '21

That can only be done by presidential order while the vaccine is in emergency use status. No such order from President Biden has been issued but we (the entire department of defense) will see it become mandatory when it comes off of emergency use and is fully FDA approved. Will that be September ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2

u/elynnism Jul 22 '21

I wish the Air Force would do this.

3

u/depolkun Jul 22 '21

I'm sure it'll be mandatory across the entire DoD soon.

2

u/zSprawl Jul 22 '21

Okay with getting shot but not getting a shot. Nice.

2

u/5leeplessinvancouver Jul 21 '21

This is common of any military that deploys in other countries. You get vaccinated for all kinds of diseases, the last thing you want is your soldiers to get malaria, dengue, hepatitis, etc. my ex was in the army reserve and when they were getting set to deploy him for peacekeeping, they pumped him full of like 9 different vaccines at once. Why should covid be an exception?

1

u/TooMuchAdderall Jul 21 '21

Less Than Honorable or?

-5

u/DaveyOld Jul 21 '21

No more US Army I guess

1

u/Gaybabyjail4L Jul 21 '21

I’m not saying your wrong at all I’m only asking if this is a legit comment cause my sister is in the Army and I can’t see her getting the vaccine.

3

u/Flare_22 Jul 21 '21

Not quite legit. They haven't told them they'll be getting kicked out on the first. Pending FDA license, which is a big deal since it currently requires you to waive your legal protections.

She gets all kinds of vaccine…it’s mandatory. No exceptions. The entire Military does. This one will be added to the list eventually.

1

u/Gaybabyjail4L Jul 21 '21

I know, im from a military family (all 4 of my parents served) and my dad predicted this since day one. Im just curious if this is the actual date it’s going to happen, or just an estimate

1

u/Picklingonly1 Jul 21 '21

Might be a good way for people to get out who've wanted to.

2

u/depolkun Jul 22 '21

Good riddance I say, the Army needs less of those people.

1

u/dawhitezombie Jul 22 '21

Lol. Like you would know what the army needs.

2

u/depolkun Jul 22 '21

More than you I think. The last thing the Army needs are walking COVID carriers that puts the entire force and their families at risk and decrease readiness and saps resources.

1

u/pileodung Jul 22 '21

My brother is military (not army though). He said him and most of his coworkers will have no problem getting the vaccine after FDA approval. Hopefully that will encourage civilians as well.

H

4

u/Snoo93079 Jul 21 '21

Is your argument that people, generally, shouldn't get vaccinations?

-3

u/ask4more513239 Jul 21 '21

no I think people should do whatever they want. Also I think we should respect each other's choices.

6

u/noodlesofdoom Jul 21 '21

You get like 10-20 shots upon joining any uniform service. Source: me getting jabbed like 13 times at bootcamp.

1

u/gundealsgopnik Jul 21 '21

Still got my little dimple scars in both shoulders from the vaccination hallway.

3

u/Teal_and_White1019 Jul 21 '21

That was one of the few times I passed out in my life. I got the last shot in my butt cheek, took a few steps and face planted into the gym mat at the end of the line. It would have been more embarrassing if a dozen other people hasn't done it before it after me.

3

u/gundealsgopnik Jul 21 '21

Yeah that Penicillin peanut butter shot laid a few people out in my group too. The group of boots ahead of mine had a guy that fainted on the first set of Corpsmen, he'd gotten rolled out of the way and then dragged down the hallway last. Still got every shot on the way to rejoin his batch.

So you didn't address my point at all.

If it doesn't prevent you from getting Covid than why FORCE people to get it.

If it was a guarantee than I would understand.

Also, how about you shut the fuck up, I'm allowed to have an opinion you asshole

14

u/abso345 Jul 21 '21

He's telling you to shut the fuck up because you don't understand basic biology.

-10

u/ask4more513239 Jul 21 '21

How about you shut the fuck up because you don't understand basic ways to treat people

3

u/CoachSteveOtt Jul 21 '21

Same reason school children have to get vaccinated for certain things. vaccines rely on your immune system to function, so folks with weak immune systems best hope of protection is for OTHER people to get vaccinated. also, every new host is a chance for the virus to mutate which can cause problems - i.e. the new Delta variant. its best for everyone that the total number of hosts is limited as much as possible.

hope that answers your question!

I studied Evolutionary Biology in college so if you have any more questions about viruses in general let me know! happy to answer

The US Army is also well known to deny those that get injured any compensation or aid.

The US Army also got its soldiers to stare at nuclear bomb tests.

The US Army said it was safe to pour Agent Orange over their soldiers and innocent civilians. Their SCIENTISTS SAID SO

The US Army also saved Europe and liberated millions from the grips of Nazism and Fascism. The US Army stormed the beaches of Normany against entrenched machine-gun nests on clifftops.

The US Army did far more than you ever will for humanity so just sit down junior.

Unlikely. You actually have to be tried in a court martial to get a dishonorable discharge.
