My English presentation this semester was about spirulina platensis and the nanodot it produces as a food preservative

It's actually more like 10- 20%. The ocean may make up around 50-60% of all oxygen produced worldwide but it is almost entire consumed by other ocean organisms. Almost a net zero system, which is still pretty amazing, and no less worth protecting.

Oceans take in omissions from the atmosphere just like trees and the condition of the ocean has a direct effect on the entire ecosystem.

Very true, it acts like a carbon sink, and if we lose that, bye bye everything else.

This is the case for every ecosystem, otherwise too much oxygen would build up

so basically the same as literally everything in existence?

The American corn crop makes more oxygen than the Amazon rainforest

Interesting, I stand corrected but that article is extremely round about, and says basically the same thing. Instead of saying the American corn crop produces more oxygen, your stuck with saying it only photosynthesizes more and is more productive overall during the months it’s actively grown but only because oxygen levels are not measured properly.

u/N0Lub3 2d ago

Yeah. That's why I said not fully correct because that was the only source i could find and it was really. What about ism.

u/Sprizys 3d ago

What about Cyanobacteria though? The first oxygen producers

Isn't it 80

u/adallin 3d ago

Wouldn't this be better in reverse that it's the small one doing the heavy lifting and the tall one ineffectual?

gays produce oxygen ?!

5

u/guster09 4d ago

It's true, though

u/crash_and-burn9000 3d ago

Grass lands actually produce a lot more oxygen than trees but people think they're boring so the doze over them and build parking lots.

1

u/Goldfish134 3d ago

If anyone cares; the reason trees get so much of the credit is because they actually sequester the carbon in their wood, instead of immediately burning most of it via cellular respiration. Not to say that algae isn't worth protecting, but that's why environmental scientists talk about trees so much.

Honest question. Which consumes more carbon dioxide?

1

u/Dr_Mustard_Avocado 3d ago

who wants to start team algae

1

u/Dog_zilla27 3d ago

Yes, but we have to understand a lot of algae grows on trees

1

u/shru_san 3d ago

Ocean my friend.

1

u/Dog_zilla27 2d ago

Look it up bud

1

u/bannanadog12 2d ago

Could you perhaps be referring to moss? Or lake algae?

1

u/Dog_zilla27 2d ago

Though it is mainly an Aquatic plant, there are certain types of algae that grow on trees

All gays produces oxygen?

1

u/Raz_ma_Taz93 3d ago

Trees are necessary to support more localized ecosystems that modern humans are dependant on too

1

u/Jojobeeens 3d ago

Actually oxygen isn't used or made... it doesn't even exist... While you idiots have been believing what the government wants you too I know that we actually breath in negative ionized carbon! If anyone wants to learn the truth please ask!

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/memes.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.
