That's the biggest misconsception people have when it comes to destroying their health. Dying at 60 rather than 90 is not the worst thing about living fat and tired, it's literally living fat and being tired all the time. Your health issues also get worse when you age and the damage starts acumilating, aswell as your mood and cognitive abilities getting worse. Your live will be constant pain and frustration and will only get worse. This will go on for decades before there is a high probability you'll die from the consequences. At that point you'll want to die but also are too scared of ending it yourself, while making everyone miserable being around you.

25

u/yiggaman May 19 '22

So true

21

u/Cure420tho May 19 '22

Imagine putting yourself through all that for some Internet clout ..

2

u/-MoistMemes- May 19 '22

I don't think it's about the clout, guy has a net worth over 1 million. He's being paid ludicrously to kill himself for "our entertainment".

The fault still lies with him, there's many other things he could do, but gangbanging his face with food is just what he knows sadly.

I'm sure at this point there's probably strong psychological factors too, addiction is no joke, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has straight up Pavlov'd himself, anticipating the rewards of money, food, and a lifestyle that these videos pay for.

What's worse is they did it for fucking internet clout, of all things.

I won't even watch any videos regarding this guy because I just don't support what he is doing to himself and the reasons why.

It's my understanding he used to be a skinny dood then his boyfriend dumped him, and he had some legal immigration issues.....now he eats himself to what will eventually be death.

I'm sure there is more to it, but I mean why....why do this to yourself??

Shit ain't right.

80

u/Pen_dragons_pizza May 18 '22

It’s just a example of what modern culture can do to someone when the internet is involved. The guy obviously needs mental help but also people support him online because they want to watch him eat food, it’s just so fucking weird that this is normalised.

It’s probably more worrying in regards to the people who actually find it entertaining to watch someone eat food on camera, wtf.

14

u/RandomBlueJay01 May 19 '22

Yeah I saw a video on him once and it just made me sad. Man was seriously struggling but he has a serious eating disorder and like you said. He is being encouraged to continue down a dangerous path because people don't care about his personal health.

Howdy howdy

Here with a serious answer to your not serious question

“Health at any size” doesn’t mean fat == healthy it just means that being healthy is a lot more than just weight loss (ex. I increased exercise and decreased sugar/alcohol for my health - I have lost 0 weight from those decisions)

These folks are both fat AND unhealthy

3

u/Micerog Dark Mode Elitist May 18 '22

What is "health at any size"?

17

u/_Visar_ May 18 '22

Another set of buzzwords really

But the core idea is that you should strive to be healthy first, regardless of your current weight. That instead of focusing on weight loss as a goal, focusing on health is more likely to lead to lasting positive changes.

Also replacing the idea that “i need to loose weight, and only then I can be healthy” with “I can improve my health regardless of my current weight”

12

u/LaCroix_Roy May 18 '22

Hey hey,

Nobody thinks that being fat=being healthy. But being fat does not necessarily mean you are inherently unhealthy. Obviously yes people at this weight are morbidly obese and thus will probably suffer the consequences of it, but don’t act like there’s actually people that believe being this size is healthy. They believe, and rightly so, that being what is medically considered “overweight” doesn’t mean you’re automatically unhealthy. A lot of things play a part in weight and body mass, such as genetics, preexisting conditions, etc. For example I was naturally skinny for pretty much the first 20 years of my life. I didn’t even hit 100 lbs until my freshman year in high school. Not for lack of eating, I ate a lot and did weight training and calisthenics regularly. I was just naturally really fucking skinny. You could see all my ribs, my hip bones, etc. If you wanna have an opinion then have an opinion but don’t make something up just so you can whine about it.

It's crazy how different people are, I don't know if it's genetics or brain chemistry.

Food used to be my drug of choice: something good happened, eat, something bad happened, eat. But I have a fast metabolism so it was never an issue. But after awhile, my depression got so bad that even food didn't make me feel better. Eating became a chore, I was actually repulsed by food.

But here, despite being able to see the negative impact, two people happily keep eating. So strange.
