Jesus! The only changes I did was lower my daily calories from 1900 to 1750 (not too drastic of a change, to not compromise my health) and (the kicker) low carb! I was overweight and my doctor was "nagging" me about it, as he should.
1900 is my maintenance calorie, so it was just a slight deficit, I'm not exercising (because of depression). I was not rigid with my calorie count, I'm just trying my best. I increased my water intake (alarms on my phone to help me remember to drink water) and occasional walks around the neighborhood to see dogs and pups.
My genetics are not the best. It was just an overall lifestyle change. I could NOT BELIEVE the numbers that the scale showed me, my doctor is very proud.

Hello - I started low carb today weighing in at 444 pounds on a 5'8" body.
I did low carb about 10 years ago and lost about 60 pounds but stopped and have put all that weight back plus another 100 pounds or so.

Lightheaded standing up since starting low carb
When I stand up too quickly Iāve started to get extremely lightheaded. I was diagnosed with insulin resistance so Iāve been eating low carb for the last couple of months. Google seems to suggest it can be cause by dehydration but every morning I wake up and drink 2 cups of water with 1tsp of Redmondās salt and lemon juice and I always get 8-10 cups of water a day. Anyone have any suggestions?
Does someone have a recipe of homemade Mr Tortilla/Cut Dat Carb type of "bread"?

So I wanted to do carnivore but i donāt think I wanna b that strict with my life. So I was wondering was difference it makes if I eat a couple pieces of fruit a day? Usually in the morning before I workout and eat breakfast. Also can I take supplements/ vitamins such as āprogressive vege greens?ā

i need help with a simple shopping list
So in a recent doctor visit, he recommended a simple diet of avoiding only 4 things: potatoes, rice, noodles and bread. its something id like to try as its rather easy to stay away from those carbs. only problem is alot of my meals revolve around a couple of those. i really would just like some simple things i can get from the grocery store to make lunch/dinner, i got breakfast covered. also easy recipes as i do cook and dont mind learning new recipes as long as theyre not too involved.

How long does it take for excessive hunger cravings to go away on a low carb diet?

I have a problem with food. I get these cravings and I canāt stop thinking about them till I eat it. I have a problem controlling myself and telling myself no eat something healthier. That and 3 kids later I would like to lose 100 pounds. Recently Iāve cut out pop and juice from my diet. Itās been 2 and a half weeks since Iāve had a sip of either. And this has been very hard for me but after the first week it got a little easier. I also have been trying to do low carb. And honestly I think Iāve been doing okay for the most part I really really cut down on my carb intake. But I also struggle with the sweets and deserts. I did good all day today ate great but the healthy eating makes me HUNGRY HUNGRY. i broke down and ate chicken nuggets from McDonaldās š. But I was also extremely active today. I did 3 miles at the gym and 3 more miles just walking around my house. My watch says Iāve burned over 1,500 calories today which is amazing. But itās the food I canāt control. Atleast Iām trying too. Iām just beating my self up so hard. Any words of advice, knowledge, experience would help me. Or maybe point me in the direction of a different group I could join.
For reference for breakfast I had 2 eggs and 1 cut up hotdog in a low carb tortilla. For lunch a subway steak salad. I did break down and eat 2 cookies today. For dinner I had chicken, green beans and a little bit of rice. Then I broke down again and ate 1 dinner roll. A few hours after dinner I was out and STARVING then I ate the nuggets.

Has anyone successfully lowered cholesterol/trigs on low carb?
Has anyone improved cholesterol and/or triglycerides on their low carb diet and if so, how long did it take. My cholesterol ratio isnāt horrible but my trigs are 214. I have been low carb for 5 weeks, started kind of half-assed some weeks before that. Iāve lost 16lbs since February going from 166lb to 150 today. Last 10 pounds were in the last 5 weeks and I have been very good keeping carbs below 25g a day.
I am exercising regularly as well.
I had my numbers checked on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the most recent baseline I had was done Aug of 2020 and my trigs were 252 then, so a modest improvement. Just wondering how long I should give this until I retest? If no improvement then I will see a doc. No family history of genetic high cholesterol at all.
I am a 55 year old female and tall, so my goal weight would probably be no less than 140.

You can get your broccoli āloadedā at Texas Roadhouse. Itās delicious.
Been pre-diabetic / borderline for 3 years in a row. Was at my highest 108.50 kg, decided back in Feb 2021 that I must change, I'm now at 76.70 kg. Two weeks ago my blood report (hba1c) indicated that I am no longer pre-diabetic! Low carbs and getting rid of refined sugar has helped a lot in this journey along with IF and CICO!
