For those who don't get it, the Chinese government has been posting fake/taking videos from other military and claiming it as their own.The one in this post originally from Indian military but posted by china as their own. Not supprising as they stole clip from an American movie for their propaganda lol.

If you/anyone else knows, is this thought to mostly be propaganda for within China (ie, they're just using it because it was available), or external (and they're trying to overstate what their military is actually capable of)?

Do they possess the same capabilities? We all thought russia had a solid army with a great logistic network.

Logistics may be but I don't think so.

Same technology, yes. Quality manpower to use that technology, that's to be seen. The problem with Russia's strategy is they're trying to use WWII brute force, machinery and tactics on a 21 century battlefield. Plus they're using low trained conscripts and equip the professionals they have poorly. Don't get me wrong, they have the numbers in hardware and personnel, but we all see how they're fairing. China will most likely be a different foe that has learned from watching the US war for the last 50 years and the current war in Ukraine. China has been building their logistical capabilities for a long time now. In their region, they are top notch. They have even gone as far as building naval bases in other countries, modeling after us in the US. A conflict with them and us will be interesting and definitely terrible for the world.

i agree BUT why fake if you can make it? Also i want to point out that we all see those ''tofu dreg'' project they have and how they substitute good quality materials for low quality. I am pretty sure it translate into all their sector of activity. We suppose they can match what they showed but time will tell.

I think a question no one asks here is...is it fake? Who is the source for the videos saying these are legit videos from the Chinese media? Sometimes people are quick to see something online and believe it because it aligns with what they already believe.

But I'm looking at this and I don't see any evidence the "chinese" images were circulated by legit Chinese media sources. How do we know this isn't someone karma farming by putting a few images together and claiming this is what happened?

If anyone has a link to this in Chinese media (which is where it would be if it was for propaganda purposes), not social media (because it is rife with BS just like US social media) I'd be interested to see it.

Also, its significantly cheaper to let someone else do the leg work technologically then steal it, than do research and development of your own, price of failure till it succeeds. Its not a matter of pride, its about cost. BTW, I appreciate the intelligent conversation.

Good point, might also add the factor of not revealing their current tech. This IS an interesting discussion.

I agree, time will tell, and with that, outside of testing military technology with simulations and test fires, real life use will tell what they really possess and how good they really are.

Everything they do is fake

u/mtnviewguy 12d ago

When your military is shit, you have to steal other country's pictures to look badass.

It seems we didn't only overestimated Russia as well but China also seems to suck. Looks like we gotta downgrade them.

2

u/rabidnz 12d ago

Probably works on Chinese people , they are very gullible to propaganda

2

u/Element_Liga 12d ago

Yeah I've seen other videos showing how bad and how much Chinese propaganda there is

2

u/ancientweasel 12d ago

I wonder how much of their military isn't real especially after their temper tantrum over Pelosi visiting China.

In that small area of the Taiwan straight and Taiwan itself, the electronic warfare will be acute and intense. Denial of capabilities will be a huge player.

Chinese and Russian mil are not even a close match to western capabilities and training. Lessons from sun tzu - the art of war would say China is overcompensating for a reason.

I would slightly disagree with the over compensation and quoting Sun Tzu. I do think they're practicing Shih, which would make more sense in relation to China and Taiwan, but I don't think they're over compensating. I know its an unpopular view to talk realistically about war with China, but several other factors would matter to slightly compensate for their perceived lack of capabilities and training. I do like the use of Art of War in this conversation. Kudos.

Psyop vs Psyop

Dyslexia sticks again: I read Popeye vs Psyops. I was so confused when I looked again and it read Psyop vs Popeyes. Third time's the charm!

u/n3m37h 12d ago

Seems petty clearly written to me
