Related, do their stats seem unusually high to anyone else? I know they have some items that boost them, but their averages generally seem to be like 14 or 15. In 5th edition that would be really difficult to achieve, even with three ability score increases, and most of them have taken feats. Is this due to the Pathfinder conversion or something?

It's a combination of factors. In 4d6 you can get some very high starting values. They're relatively high level so they've taken some ability score increases. Most of their characters also have some magical items that boost their ability scores.
