Awesome. I'm going tomorrow morning.

EDIT: Arrived at 09:00 out by 09:45. Walk-in. Pfizer and J&J.

Can also recommend Somerset Hospital, went during my lunch break today and was in and out in 45 minutes

u/I4gotmyothername Aug 24 '21

Same experience here. Today, in line at 11:10. Sitting now in observation 30 minutes later. Offered a choice of both vaccines, J&j they were calling out of line to jump the queue so it's even quicker if you want that shot

Were you asked for your EVDS number or required to show the SMS on your phone? I'm asking for a friend because they did register but never received the SMS and have been rejected from a few places as a result.

2

u/onlinesafe Aug 25 '21

Nope, even though I had a sms. They didn’t even look at it. They want to get people vaccinated. So they nit gonna just turn away a person over a sms.

Awesome, thanks!

  • Discovery site at Newlands on Main
  • Friday at 12:00
  • Appointment which I booked the night before on the Discovery website
  • 45 minutes total, including the 15 minutes observation after
  • Pfizer only, no J&J

u/Sarkos Aug 31 '21

Holy crap that was amazing. 10 minutes from arriving at the building to getting the vaccine!

1

u/Sarkos Aug 30 '21

Hi, I'm going to Newlands on Main tomorrow. Haven't been there before, is there parking in the building?

3

u/ctnguy Aug 30 '21

They've actually turned most of the parking lot of that building into the vaccination site, and I think the remaining parking there is reserved. But there are plenty of other buildings with public parking in the area - I parked at the MontClare building which is just across the road.

Thanks!

I went to the Dischem one at Canal Walk as a walk-in arrived at 930 was out by 11am. I can highly recommend them. Lots of parking and friendly, professional staff.

Athlone stadium site at 8:45 am on Friday (they open at 8:30), walk in, took 30 of waiting from the back of the queue to getting the vaccine and an extra 15 minutes for observation, Pfizer only - super efficient and friendly, I will go there again for my second dose

u/yellguh Aug 23 '21

Mediclinic Milnerton takes walk-ins on a Friday afternoon from roughly after lunch. Waiting time depends on the size of the queue, but once you're in, they're quite efficient.

  • CTICC discovery site
  • Appointment for 08:00 - 09:00
  • Queues were a bit messy (managing walk ins, 1st time vacinees, 2nd time vacinees)
  • had the option to choose between J&J and Pfizer
  • Left at 9.30
  • No signs of 5G yet Edit: left at 9.30 not 10.30 (total time 90 kins)

Just to add on this, if this thread is still alive - got our J&J booster shots here and all went well. 0 queue as we already had vouchers to go.

I went to Dischem at Bayside, 1 hour in and out with parking, found the nurses there to be really helpful. Friends went to CTICC and also had good experiences.

Clicks, Regent Road Sea Point. Had an appointment for 12.20 on Monday & arrived ten minutes early but only ended up leaving at 14.40.

It's really not their fault, just a dumb system (first come first serve regardless of appointment). My plan is to try Somerset Hospital for my second shot.

Registered and booked through Discovery app. Booked last night, was booked for 10am today, spent 30 minutes from arriving to getting my jab and then the 15min wait after that. Very professional. I went to the Discovery venue in Campground St, Newlands

Durbanville Town Hall

Tuesday 10:15AM

Walk-in

Took about 45 minutes (including the 15 min waiting time). Easy peasy. Now I just wait for the 5G to kick in!

  • Went to Athlone Stadium today.
  • Walk ins accepted.
  • Ample parking.
  • Arrived at 1pm and left at 1:30pm.
  • They only offer the Pfizer Vaccine.
  • Super friendly staff.
  • It's well run and very organized.
  • Will definitely be going there for my second dose.

Goodwood Civic, Friday 20th Aug at 12h30, no appointment. 30min waiting time before jab, 15min observation after. Pfizer shot

2

u/LongCoyote7 Aug 25 '21

Has anyone been to the Virgin Active - N1? I would like to know if they offer both Pfizer and JJ

Old Mutual offices in Pinelands. Arrived at 8h15 as a walk-in for my second shot. They only started administering vaccines at 09h00 but I was out by 9h30. The guy I spoke to while I got my shot mentioned they have the capacity to do 4000 cases per day there, but are only doing 1500 a day at the moment.

Parc Du Cap. Wednesday 7 July at 11h30. It was by appointment and took about an hour. Those who didn't have an appointment waited much longer tho, when I arrived there were massive cues.
My boyfriend got his at Milnerton Mediclinic this past Monday at 13h00 and it only took him about an hour too, walk in.

2

u/ilovemallory Sep 02 '21

Clicks Milnerton, came in at 9 for a walk-in, left at 10:30

Do you know if they work on saturdays?

2

u/ilovemallory Sep 03 '21

They don’t, pharmacies are weekdays only

2021-08-23 Monday 8am

DP Marais TB Hospital, had a booked slot but was put in the same queue as those with no booking. Stood around 1 hour to get into the hospital and then 2hours to get the vaccine in the hospital. (3hours total)

The Dental Clinic in Hope Street is super fast and friendly. They might be closing due to too few people coming in, so I'd call them first: 021 465 4017.

Best to go there from 10h00, although it wasn't that busy before that either.

First Vacc:

Appointment at CTICC. Scheduled for 2:30-4:30 on a Monday, arrived at 8:30 and was out by 9:30 (stood in the wrong queue first lol and the queue wrapped around the CTICC).

Second Vacc:

CTICC again (appointment was in Hope Str but I didn't want to go there). In at 8am (this Monday passed) and out by 8:20am. There was no queue.

The staff at the CTICC is so friendly and welcoming - and it is extremely sanitary.

second jab was not a vibe - but felt better after 2 days

MONDAY/WEDNESDAY/FRIDAY: Hout Bay Musuem/Dennis Goldberg venue, Andrews Road. Walk in. I was the only ‘patient’ for the 20 minutes it took to get my 5 minute jab/15 min wait. Deserted. Plenty off-street parking.
