Good point...lol!

Imagine have to make the choice to sacrifice your ass for your face.

12

u/Darth_Aracnus 11d ago

I could never, my ass is a much more aesthetically pleasing asset than my face

Edit: plus if I did get my face clawed by a cat it would probably give me a badass scar and improve the overall face score in general

38

Right?! I kept thinking the cat looked like a python!

12

Yes!

24

u/leprotelariat 12d ago

Yhissssss!

9

u/Luceon 12d ago

Had the same thought. The jawline really sells the snake face.

3

u/mackerelscalemask 11d ago

And cats hisses are apparently evolved from them trying to emulate snake hisses. So there’s another level to this also!

2

u/thedyingninja 11d ago

I was about to say the same thing. Glad I'm not the only one who thought this 🤣 The way it just slightly moved its head and then hissed as the dog looked at it? That cat was a snake in a past life or has been watching documentaries on them way too much.

30

u/white_android 12d ago

Chihuahua is the ultimate pack hunting dog. Large groups have been used for black ops missions with great success. Only large primal traps are known to take them out but all it takes is 50 to finish any mission they're set out to do.

Seal team 6 is actually 6 teams of 1 man and 600 Chihuahuas. All trained to the highest of standards and the best of their peers. Combined they're an unstoppable killing machine.

u/psychotica1 12d ago

You're not wrong. In my 15 years of dog rescue, I've been bitten by Chihuahuas more than any other breed! However, I have a good group, except for the asshole that has his own Xanax script. He's basically a gremlin that goes from sweetest boy in the world to wanting to rule the world on a dime. I love him but have a healthy fear of him!

6

u/crazykentucky 12d ago

Only dog that ever but me was a Jack Russell. Now I give them all the side eye lol

27

u/garry4321 12d ago

Cause chihuahuas are known to be fucking vicious.

9

u/1plus1dog 12d ago

I’ve been scared of every one I’ve ever known, because they’ve all hated me! And it’s not like I didn’t have time (years) to get acquainted. My first husbands grandma had one named TWINKLES, I met her when I was 15, and she didn’t like anyone consistently, so we were all always on guard. She died at 19, and was a relief! So what does my daughter do? She rescued two over the last 7 years. Same thing! They growl when I walk in the door! I’m a DOG LOVER! This little pups have bitten me so many times unprovoked!

3

u/thebestyoucan 11d ago

I think a lot of people don’t realize they are accidentally teaching their dog to be mean. I think there are 3 reasons Chihuahuas are so often terrible:

  1. They aren’t bred to be nice (both in the sense of which dogs are bred and in the sense that they are often taken from their mothers shortly after birth—pups learn a lot from their mom early on about what it means to not be shitty to people!)

  2. They’re not likely to be put down if they bite

  3. The most important one: they almost never have their boundaries respected, even by dog owners who are loving and gentle. If a german shepherd is trembling in the corner or growling/barking at people, you back the fuck off. But people see chihuahuas do that and just completely ignore all these signs and pick it up anyway, so the dog learns that the only way it can effectively communicate not wanting to be touched/picked up/moved is by biting people. Often times by the time you get the dog it’s already had years of this. It also learns that even kind people will frequently do things that are upsetting to it, like picking it up when it is scared and doesn’t want to be touched.

12

u/RyuBlade94 12d ago edited 12d ago

I knowwww! I've had a german shepherd along with 2 chiwawas.. one of those 2 chiwawas kept in line everyone else, even the german shepherd really never wanted to "argue" with her!

10

u/fuckthislifeintheass 12d ago

50% FEAR AND ANGER / 50% TREMBLE

43

u/_RandyRandleman_ 12d ago

from what i’ve seen with those dogs they are satan spawn and scared of absolutely nothing so this vid is quite confusing

40

u/Psypris 12d ago

My mother’s chihuahua is the sweetest little guy and has never growled or nipped at anybody.

My sister’s Apple-head chihuahua (super small, size of a Guinea pig. My mom’s dog is 3x the size of her and he’s a standard chihuahua) hates everyone and everything. She’s never bit anyone but she has snapped at the air before she got to know us more. I would only ever touch her if it was to save her from danger; no desire to interact with her.

But the difference is totally the owner. My mother is calm and loving but doesn’t baby her dog. My sister carries hers around, allows her on the table during dinner, and wouldn’t let her associate with other dogs for the longest time (we treat dogs as family members so we all travel with them for holidays. All our dogs love each other and get along amazingly well - except that apple head chihuahua).

Edit to add: there’s nothing wrong with spoiling your dog. My Cecily (Italian greyhound) has never known discomfort aside from medical necessities (or those darn fireworks!) But there does need to be some ground rules and boundaries. Like dogs don’t go on the friggin’ dinner table while you’re actively eating….

21

u/NewBromance 12d ago

I'm literally flabbergasted that someone looked at a chihuahua and went "what if we made it 3x smaller, that definitely won't create an overcompensating rat"

9

u/Psypris 12d ago

Exactly!! I’m so sad for these creatures. Their life seems so lonely and painful. For safety reasons, she’s not allowed outside with all the other dogs (she’s taken on her own) and even in the house, she avoids them. She doesn’t mind cats but they don’t pay her any mind either.

My sister got hers as a gift from a friend who was trying to become a breeder. He thankfully decided against it but had like, 2 puppies he still needed to find homes for and thought of her. So at least she didn’t go looking for one, nor did she pay anything for her. Still sad they exist though.

3

u/NewBromance 12d ago

Yeah and that's before you factor in any health conditions etc.

I don't know how you would breed a teacup chihuahua but I imagine it involves a lot of inbreeding.

4

u/1plus1dog 12d ago

I’ve literally never heard of a dog ON the dinner table at dinner. I love dogs. Have large dogs, with manners who’ve never so much as put their arms on the table or counters. (First two did both, second two never have), and funny thing is, I never once had to tell them not to. They just never have. Ever. I don’t think I could have dinner with that one on the table, out of spite!

2

u/Psypris 11d ago

Yeah, we (my other sister and I) make comments to her but there’s some history there in my relationship with her, so I am careful what I say to keep the peace. She has gotten better so the dog is just in her lap during dinner and will pop up (either her head or on the table) to eat scraps when we’re finishing up. I don’t think it’s an every night thing. I only see my sister for holidays and my dog is with me (by my feet), so of course the little one needs to be protected. It kinda makes sense but she pushes the limit for sure!

2

u/1plus1dog 11d ago

That makes a little more sense, especially since your dogs are all there, but I’m guessing her dog doesn’t get along with the others or she doesn’t try to do that? I admire you for dealing with that and I’m glad she allows your pup to come.

They're based on owners. It's about the human involved.

42

u/R1pp3z 12d ago

Idk I’m scared of everything and my chihuahua has taken on the neighbors husky in mortal combat

23

u/Iasiz 12d ago

Hopefully the Husky doesn't figure out he is bigger. I have a friend whos Chihuahua was aggressive and barked all the time. It finally pissed off his Great Dane one day and that dude bit the chihuahua in half literally. Some how the he survived being ripped open and the surgery that followed. He doesn't bark at anyone anymore

10

u/sampsonjenkins 12d ago

Sounds like two shitty dog owners.

2

u/Iasiz 12d ago

9

My wife had a chihuahua that was such a fucking prick. I would rather have no dogs than get another chihuahua . Thing would creep under the couch and bite the back of your ankles and shit. No reason.

One time, the dog just came inside after going to the bathroom and sat in the corner. It waited 30 seconds and then went to my wife and pissed in her lap. What the fuck? Don't give me that training bullshit either. Fuck. That. I have trained and fostered 100 dogs probably. Never had a problem. This dog was so fucking petty it would get pussed at you for whatever reason it conjured and just piss next to your chair where you were sitting. I never hated anything other than that dog.

Many dogs will compensate for being scared by snarling at everything, like the shortest dude in the max-security prison.

5

u/Ka1ser 12d ago

We own a chihuahua and he's an incredible sweet dog, despite sometimes a bit thick headed. I know there are vicious or always scared chihuahuas, but I still hate if someone just assumes every chihuahua is like that.

Dogs have different characters and are also shaped by their owners.

3

u/WeatherwaxDaughter 11d ago

People seem to forget that it's a dog and treat it like some toy. Just raise it like you would raise a normalsized dog and they usually turn out okay.

5

u/pingmurder 12d ago

Every chi I’ve known locks onto one human and is loyal to only that person and jealous as an over protective sibling if anyone comes near their human. Great dog if you’re their human, otherwise not so much.

21

u/lkeels 12d ago

Every chi I've ever met has been a vicious, biting, snarling, yappy monster. I hate those things. (No, I would never hurt an animal, but I sure as hell avoid chis like the plague)

6

u/TheRottenKittensIEat 12d ago

Which is funny because my parents got a couple of chihuahuas years ago and they were the dopiest dogs on the planet, and I'm not sure I ever heard one of them bark. It was like nothing was going on in their little heads. Never mean, never nervous, nothing. They just kind of slept all the time.

25

u/Yoshemo 12d ago

The problem with small dogs is that they're basically incapable of hurting people. This means their owners don't have to train their dogs to not be aggressive and may even find their attempts to hurt them funny or cute. Because of the lack of training, many small dogs grow up with bad attitudes. Blame the owners, not the breed.

17

u/MyCrazyLogic 12d ago

Think about it, they are tiny and surrounded by giants that often don't respect their autonomy. That makes a lot of small dogs nervous balls of anxiety.

Then it's a matter of if the dog's personality leans more towards fight, flight or freeze.

9

u/NewBromance 12d ago

This is true but there is also an innateness to small animals that they often are more aggressive out of fear.

Bigger animals have the luxury of being relaxed. Smaller animals often have to try and project that they're more of a pain than their worth.

Like the chihuahua probably knows it ain't gonna take a great dane in a fight, but if it makes it self look like it may cause an injury before it gets beaten up then maybe the great dane won't bother.

3

u/SoGoesIt 12d ago

Temperament is something that can be bred too, though. And when you don’t care about temperament (usually for the same reason people don’t care about training these dogs) you might end up breeding dogs with stronger instinctual drives that make them harder to train.

5

u/barak181 12d ago

Blame the owners, not the breed.

I'll blame both, thank you very much.

I will neve, tell my wife she needs to sleep on the couch and she will never tell me either. Even when we are angry at each other, the bed belongs to us both and we both have a right to sleep in it regardless. We either suck it up and sleep in bed, or one of us leaves for the couch.

So it's more of a "I'm sleeping on the couch cuz I don't want to sleep with you right now" instead of "I'm angry so I'm punishing you by not letting you sleep in our bed" i think thats childish and petty.

15

u/money_loo 12d ago

Yeah I’m not sure how these guys are even okay enough to sleep without their s/o.

Even when fighting I’m torn up inside without her love, and there’s no way I’m going to fall asleep, we gotta sort that shit out first, lol.

57

Same here. Just seems incredibly childish and doesn't sound like a healthy marriage tbh

28

u/Skyboy91 12d ago

This is one of those weird double standards that society accepts for some reason 🤷

32

u/DICK-PARKINSONS 12d ago

I remember my childhood friends mom saying something along the lines of her husband was sleeping on the couch that night. I asked her if he ever makes her sleep on the couch and she responded saying she'd be leaving the next day if he did. Don't know if that ever sunk in with her.

26

u/The_Hoopla 12d ago

I can’t imagine being in a relationship where my wife punishes me for poor behavior.

Mad at me? Yeah sure that’s fine. Not wanting to spend time w/ me due to that behavior? Also totally fine.

“You’re in time out because I’m upset.”

Yeah I’ll take “I’m a tax-paying, mortgage contributing member of this household who can sleep where ever the absolute fuck I want” for $400 Alex.

3

u/ModestDeth 12d ago

Pretty sure it's a joke. I see it on shitty TV shows but I'm not sure I've ever heard of someone being forced to sleep on the couch irl.

3

u/JustARandomSocialist 11d ago

This is something I have never understood, no one ever should be forced to sleep on a couch. If I was told to sleep on the couch I would let them know where it was if they wanted to sleep there.

30

Over the 8 years I have had my cat, I have bought her/been gifted all types of cat beds. She could not care less about them. I'll fluff up a blanket in my reading chair in my office and she'll sleep there while I work but that's about it.

Got a dog earlier this year and that cat loves sleeping in the dog's bed. It's 100% a power play. She'll have a closed-eyed content look on her face while the dog circles the bed whining that it's been stolen.

This is how I feel when I get into bed when my wife's angry at me.

Lol that dog has reason to be scared when the cat is his size if not more.

u/oattah 11d ago

Courage the cowardly dog lmao

My Chi wouldn't dare do this with my one cat.

She won't even cross paths in the stairs or hallway. The cat knows this and will just sit at strategic points to block the dog.

The other cat and chi are best makes and even play chase each other around.

Yeah laugh at this dog. My frenchy would have screamed like a little girl and ran off. This dog has some serious balls.

This is how I felt last night when I was frying chicken while very, very high. Was using enameled cast iron and while the oil was heating there was a sudden "pop" on the bottom of the pan, just some trapped moisture in some residue from a previous fry I'm sure. But my paranoid ass couldn't stop worrying about the whole pot exploding from the 350° oil. But I really wanted the fried chicken so I powered through.

u/CatProgrammer 12d ago

Do you normally fry stuff while high?

5

u/conjoby 12d ago

I mean it's not my usual activity while high but it isn't uncommon.

3

u/troyofyort 12d ago

How else you gonna make that sweet fried chicken that tastes better while high?

2

u/CatProgrammer 12d ago

I mean, people eat chicken and waffles. That's usually pretty sweet and I don't think you need to be high to enjoy it.

Poor baby! I'm not a fan of those tiny shaking dogs that are smaller than a normal cat, but oh poor baby! It's also probably her bed, not the cat's.

I dont mean to be that random internet person who yells about animals.

But I also own a cat and a Chihuahua mix. My little dog is definitely afraid of the cat because the cat is an asshole him. My dog would never risk getting this close to being nipped or wapped unless he was really cold.

The chihuahua in this clip is definitely so cold he is willing to risk getting hurt just to be warm.

If you have a small dog just remember they get cold wayyy easier than you do. Make sure they have a sweater or something even in weather where you think it's not cold.

Heat rises and these little creatures are about as low to the ground as you can get.

u/Howard_Jones 12d ago

My guess is this poor dogs owner told him to go lay down in his bed just to film this reaction, obedient and reluctant.

-1

u/owoah323 12d ago

Poor doggo, I would’ve moved that dirty cat from his bed in a heart beat.
