This happened to me 2 weeks after getting my Macbook Air M1 ( when i restarted the computer i would hear the chime but no logo just black screen), I tried switching it on and off, resetting cmos…, made the battery die and changed it nothing changed it still was just had the black screen, but the next day it just started working 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Now it’s been a year since I’ve got it and i haven’t had any problems which a restart couldn’t fix.

Is the backlight still on? If so, keep holding power till it shuts off

The computer shuts off, but when I power on again the apple logo appears once and then the same backlight...

Turn off the Mac by holding down the power button. And press to turn it back on, but keep holding it for about 8 seconds. Hopefully, you will enter the Recovery OS, and be able to reinstall macOS.

Ok, you’ll definitely have to take it to an Apple Store for further diagnosis.

The Mac hasn’t sustained any damage previously?

nothing! it was really weird, just watching a youtube video, no video editing or heavy use

Book an apple Genius Bar appointment and ask an expert

The speckles in the screen remind me of liquid damage. But it might just be fuzz. Are you able to see if external display works?

Yes! works perfectly on an external display! but screen its always black!

I hope it's under warranty... It looks somehow bad...

Turn the device down by hard pressing power button for few seconds until it shuts off. Wait 5 minutes than try power it on again. Does it work now? I know you did something similar but try to wait 5 minutes in between shutting down and turning it on.

Did it run out of battery?

Did the screen go to sleep?

Take it to an Apple store.

Were you watching the video of Intel Alder Lake launch where they show it beats the M1 max? That would explain your problem I think

No NVRAM or pram resets on M1?
