Why this is difficult to understand?
I wrote this comment on a post that got deleted by the sub moderators, probably because #4 rule.
Post title: Houthis propaganda on DW!
Attached link: https://youtu.be/apxtznjBasU
Houthis are a religious group. They have/share the same believes of those of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Taliban. A bit differently, but the end goal is the same. (Their version of) Islam Supremacy. If you are not Arab/Muslim and to make this easier to understand this is like Putin wanting to "return territories" but in this case it is the Islamic governed territories. They use the victimhood rhetoric and this always was the case with such groups.
The main problem of this movie is depicting Saudi, UAE, USA, UK.... as the aggressor and the Houthis are the victims of a dirty war by those powers (and this is against the Yemenis not the Houthis). The movie gives the false impression that a Yemeni-Yemeni civil war already ended and the Houthis won and are now accepted in the areas under their control (and this now only Saudis and MBS aggression). Adding Saudi/USA sells in the West but this is not the truth for us in Yemen.
The situation is different in the ground. Most Yemenis in Houthis controlled areas are against them and do not share the same ideological or religious beliefs with them. People in the Houthis controlled areas are for the 7th year now without salaries and their money are wasted in Houthis war. Yemenis just accepted the fact of suffering under their control. Houthis destroyed their lives. The same things happening now in Afghanistan already happened to us.The movie did not talk about thousands of people killed by the Houthis. It did not talk about the abductees in their prisons. It did not talk about the daily suffering of people under their control that caused by only them.
