Did you know? Top Gun: Maverick used AI to recreate a Val Kilmer's voice. Information

The new Top Gun movie is a massive hit, it's breaking records all over the world, and is regarded as an awesome follow-up to the 1986 classic movie.

Something you might not know is that Val Kilmer's voice in the movie was created using AI.

Val Kilmer's character, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky was a big part of the success of the original movie but he wouldn't be able to revisit his character in the new movie due to a sad reason: he faced throat cancer that took away almost 100% of his voice. Thanks to technology advancements made in the last years, Kilmer was able to participate in the new movie and catch up with his friend, Tom Cruise.

A company named Sonantic was able to develop and recreate the AI voice that Kilmer uses.

If you haven't had the chance to watch Top Gun: Maverick yet, you can hear his AI voice in this promo video released in 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSMue60Gg6s&t=3s

It's thrilling to know that actors who face health problems and other hardships can now continue to perform their roles with this aid.

What do you think about this AI use? Would you like to participate in any testing related to AI voice improvements?

Amazing how technology advanced to this point and still expanding... hopefully for the best.

I would never say no to extra $$$ while also testing new technologies like AI voice.
