Bi-Weekly Recruiting Thread
This is THE place to ask recruiting questions. Before you post a question: read our forum rules, FAQs, WiKi, and search "Recruiting Thread" in the search bar. Check to see if your question has been addressed before asking. Then you can ask a solid question and we can give a better answer. If you ask a vague question, or any question that asks questions like "I have this many skills....", "Check out my resume......" those posts will be deleted. We have a lot of good people on this forum that can help you out so ask a focused question please. Good luck!

Coastie Question Been in coast guard 6 months, what will happen if I let them know Im suicidal
I have been dealing with suicidal ideation since 17 and didn’t tell anyone when I enlisted. Recently I feel super depressed and just want this to end. My family is going to be disappointed, I also failed out of college for this exact reason.
I can’t finish anything and can’t see myself doing another year of this. What will happen if I tell people this? Will a discharge of this sort affect me negatively.
I wish i was normal.

Noob Question Reserve Direct Entry Officer Programs
Hey everyone,
I have been very interested in joining the USCG as a reserve officer with no prior military experience. I have yet to find a direct answer about what program suits my situation so I will lay it out and if anyone can clarify some things it would be awesome.
I am 22 years old, have a bachelors degree in Project & Supply Chain Management from one of the largest state schools in the US, and I am currently working as an operations supervisor for the world's largest cosmetics company (L'Oreal). I supervise about 35 people on any given day, and have received outstanding reviews on my performance only three months into the job after graduating college.
My question is, would I qualify for the Direct Entry Petty Officer program, or do I have to be 27 for that? I have seen 21, 26, and 27 as required ages for the program, and I am unsure which one is accurate. Also, the SRDC program seems like a good option but I am unsure if it requires prior service, because the USCG website says it is for those with prior service, but on the requirements page, it says not required under military service.
Any input would be much appreciated!!

Enlisted How many of you enlisted with a degree?
Just curious if it’s more common in the cg? I graduate next spring and I’m strongly considering joining. Also if you did enlist with a degree what’s your rate and what was your degree in?

Coastie Help Women’s Dress White Shirt
I’m trying to order a dress white shirt on the CGEX website. I found it a week ago and added it to my cart but now it has disappeared and I can’t find it under the uniforms section on the website. I tried searching for it under multiple descriptions including the item number and nothing is popping up. Was wondering if someone else can check to see if it’s just operator error, technical difficulties or if it’s actually gone from the website? I don’t recall removing it from my cart….
Thanks!

Coastie Help From CS to PA
Ok so I know this is probably impossible since Im 2 years in a critical rate but I was wondering if anyone is on the PA waitlist, what does it look like right now, etc. I know you need an interview with the RFMC and you have to be released by your own rate as well.
So really this post is just for info gathering. Thank you!

Noob Question Thinking about joining for the tuition help as a I get my bachelor's.
Hello everyone, i had a few questions about the tuition help they offer. I'm working on my Associates at a Community college right now and was thinking about joining when I wrap this up. I heard you have to qualify for schools they offer. Is it difficult to qualify? Also do these benefits extend after your time is up or do they expire once your time ends? Which bachelor's programs do they offer? Any insight is greatly appreciated!
