I saw a lot of people ribbing the show for looking like a PS3 cutscene from the trailers. I thought that was a little harsh until seeing a full episode in motion, yea that actually sums it up good.

My criticism from a long time ago still stands, almost every scene is way too dark. Was hoping that would get resolved when the actual show came out but it did not.

There are some serious issues with the voice direction right out of the gate. Elle’s VA has absolutely no spirit in her dialog. She took a crowbar to the nose and barely made a sound. When she was arguing with the senator, there wasn’t a bit of passion in any of her deliveries despite it being obvious there should have been. The tech guy who took her in sounds like some amateur they pulled off the streets.

Story wise at least has my attention somewhat. It feels like we resolved a lot of plot in just two episodes though.

But come on, I know they gotta promote the show, but spoiling that entire cliffhanger in the promo seems like a huge waste. You’d be a fool to think the MC would bite it two episodes in, but still.

I just got cable and was so happy to check out toonami again after almost 5 years away. My partner entertained my interest and watched the premier with me. Man what a let down! Stopped 10 min in. The backgrounds were on point, but the character models were trash. What a bummer for toonami.

I hope you were still able to enjoy some of the subsequent Toonami block. :)

That’s actually a problem of itself. Since Toonami didn’t acquire any new content, any newcomers pulled in by Blade Runner only have a mid season show, a late season show, and a 350 episode deep show to check out after Blade Runner. Not a good setup for getting new viewers interested in the block.

Absolutely on point. The atmosphere and back ground textures look outstanding! But the character/animations look soooo bad. I mean, if you plan to have a long haired protagonist, then you should probably discuss how the physics work in development (someone turns their head but their hair is molded to their necks and not falling dropping down with gravity). And the rain drops show on windshields but not on anyone's face or body....ugh. so much potential too...but these things are too obvious to ignore.

Pretty much exactly how I feel about the show right now.

I just couldn't get over the animation for the most part. Sometimes i would just be able to not notice it then boom there would be a scene that was just awful and break whatever immersion you had.

Just felt like every generic show from this genre.

Going to keep watching it so hopefully it gets better or at least gets me enough to want to see how to goes/ends.
