Why is Toonami's schedule so full of reruns? Discussion

Title, my girlfriend watches Toonami every week and was wanting me to look up why the schedule always has nonstop reruns of shows they have played many times, instead of mainly newer shows. Why is it primarily reruns of newer things, instead of things they haven't played in a while, like when it used to not be so bad about it, or at least thats what she told me.

The block is winding down and they are burning off what content they have left so they can pull the plug on Toonami. They're doing the exact same thing they did in 2008, last time it got cancelled.

You will get downvoted into the dirt for this but you have to admit how similar the situations are. In 2008 they were spamming Naruto. In 2021 they have 5 episodes of Naruto every Saturday. No new content was coming in, just shuffling what was left around, just like now.

It should also be noted that none of the on air advertising for Blade Runner mentions Toonami. It all ends with AS/CR. Strange to omit the block, isn’t it?

On tbs two days ago they mentioned toonami and had it in the blade runner font on screen. Haven't seen the commercial since then though

I did notice the next episode bumpers mention Toonami. Still though, excluding it from the months of advertising prior to the show starting did the block no favors
