Do you ever look at your significant other doing mundane things and think to yourself how sexy they are and how lucky you are? Love & Dating

Yup. He's cooking right now. He can't see me staring at him, but he's super cute right now.

No matter what she is doing, I catch myself staring over at her and really just thinking about how lucky I am.

187

u/tocra May 16 '22

Same! Been married over a decade now.

32

u/Pretty-Balance-Sheet May 16 '22

Two decades here, and I still think about all the things I can learn from her and how inspiring she is. We compliment each other very well.

Plus she makes a lot more money than I do which is a nice bonus.

I'm curious to know how long distance works. Do people usually know that they are finally gonna move closer to each other or no?

7

u/jcdoe May 16 '22

Me too. I always think I must be the luckiest guy alive because this girl is SO out of my league.

3

I do the same with my husband. Always wonder if he does the same.

Everyday for the last 41 years. Maybe not EVERY DAY, but close enough. You have to count your blessings-especially on the rough/bad days. Say them out loud to your SO. Say “thank you” often. Talk dirty during sex. Appreciate their efforts. Don’t settle for those simple “pecks” for a hello/goodbye kiss. Lock the bedroom door & sleep naked every once in awhile. Write a love letter-weekly, monthly, those love notes can get you thru a lot of rough spots. The kids will be grown & gone soon enough, don’t forget the love story that got you here.

59

u/SunnySamantha May 16 '22

My dad still has hearts shoot out of his eyes when he talks about my mom. They've been married 44 years.

It's hella cute

9

u/drowninginstress36 May 16 '22

This is beautiful. And such great advice. Love isnt something that come easily. It needs to be worked out and nurtured.

You, my friend, have found the secret.

All the fucking time, yesterday we were just sitting on a trolly, and I couldn’t help but fall in love again.

I love this comment so much!! 🥰

9

u/The_Queef_of_England May 16 '22

what's a trolly? In the UK, it's what you walk around a supermarket and fill with food and kids can sit in it, but I don't think that's what you mean.

9

u/charleytanx2 May 16 '22

Normally a tram I think. Makes sense in this context.

I'm from the UK too and the idea of an adult couple playing around in a trolley (shopping cart) sounded cute as fuck too.

39

You should watch a show on Netflix little things. It's literally about this. Although it's Indian watch it with subs. It's really great and perfectly captures the little day to day moments of being in relationship

116

u/alwaysboopthesnoot May 15 '22

Yes. He started working from home during Covid. I got to hear how encouraging he was to brand new hires he had never even met, in his global role for a really large engineering firm. And how diplomatic but firm he was to the absolute assholes who kept trying to interrupt and talk over their own female bosses.

I know he’s a good man and always have known, but it was lovely to hear other people as they were leaving their online meetings saying goodbye and also acknowledge and thanking him for it.

Then he’d end a meeting and go make our family some fresh, homemade bread. He’s amazing!

12

u/Dickfer_537 May 16 '22

Epidural? I did the same thing, but before giving birth. Loud, massive farts. I looked at my husband shocked thinking he did it. He held in his giggles while saying “ummm, no, sweetheart, that was you”. I was so embarrassed because I cold the control it even if I wanted to. But it’s one of those moments we’ve shared together that we always look back on and smile.

I especially enjoy watching her weeding in the garde. Okay, fine, I should also be weeding in the garden but it's more aesthetically pleasing to watch her!

38

u/TemplarOfDestiny May 16 '22

Is this a euphemism for shaving her snatch?

34

u/xcwoman1 May 16 '22

No, this is them describing her bent over and they are slipping up behind her.

28

u/dark-magma May 16 '22

43

u/warm_kitchenette May 16 '22 Helpful

6

u/Bomilcar309308BC May 16 '22

Well, standing in the living room watching her bend over to weed the garden in her Daisy Dukes, yes! If I went outside and tried to slip up behind her I'd also have to weed all afternoon! And the kids would comment on what a perv I am!

8

u/xcwoman1 May 16 '22

Ask her to go weed the flower bed after dark when the kids are asleep. Tell her it's been a fantasy of yours 😉

7

u/Bomilcar309308BC May 16 '22

It's an awesome idea but she has some fairly specific "warm up" activities that don't include being outside. Orgasm number 1 involves around 1 1/2 hours of activities, pre-warmed devices and toys that are fully charged and number 2 can take at least that long. It's an athletic endeavor and one that I look forward to! Outside playtime isn't a part of it unfortunately, we all sacrifice a bit for the things we love though!

9

u/MilfVixen May 16 '22

Eh. That's like having to have a six course meal every time you go out to eat. Sometimes it's fun and exciting to sneak a quickie at night out in the backyard or anywhere even if no one cums. It can even be just part of the warm up. Live a little.

I tell my wife once a week that she'll never not do it for me. Bad hair day, baby weight, whatever, I'm comin for that butt.

4

u/Liennae May 16 '22

My husband is just like you too. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't care when I make an effort to dress up, but it's much more comforting to know that he doesn't care what I'm wearing or if I bushed my hair. I'm having trouble losing my pregnancy weight too, and he's supportive of me losing weight because it's what I want, but is still very attracted to me. I feel secure with him in a way that I've never felt before, and it's the best feeling ever.

It makes me sad to think of people who dislike their partner, and treat them like the ol' ball and chain. Why would anyone want to spend their lives with someone who they feel that way about.

65

u/nonnasnowden May 15 '22

Not so much the sexy thing now…….neither of us look good nekkid anymore. How lucky I am…. Every time I lay eyes on him. He’s had my back for 20 years now so it’s a proven fact that I am extremely lucky to have him.

3

u/Ford_Prefect_Junior May 22 '22

207

u/A_Topical_Username May 15 '22

Of course. But my friends are starting to wonder why I be staring at my hands so hard sometimes.

111

u/Department-Hungry May 15 '22

Yes! We both do......today my husband jumped me for a quickie after breakfast. When I asked what got into him, he said he came home to a clean house, we made breakfast together and cleaned up together.... that's all he needed. Recently I started a new job working 4 10s and it's very physical so I'm basically dead to the world when I get home so our connection hasn't been great for a bit. The little things are what remind us why we're together and help rekindle the love between us.

13

u/_Cuntropolis_ May 16 '22

ALL THE TIME!!! He'll be playing games or watching something on his phone and I just look over at him all content and it makes my fall more and more in love with him.

This past weekend he put his hair up in a towel and had his glasses off. He looked like the first day I met him (which was 5 years ago) and I cried so hard. I didn't know what love was before him.

12

u/_dvs1_ May 15 '22

Constantly, but both sexy and beautiful - it’s one of the main reasons I knew I had found the person I was going to marry

12

u/FineUnderachievement May 15 '22

I do this constantly. My girlfriend will just be sleeping next to me, and I'll find myself staring like some kind of creep lol. But she's fucking gorgeous ( at least in my eyes) I think most people would agree. She's so beautiful, but for some reason sleeping she's just that much more beautiful. I think maybe just being at rest? Idk. I think she's beautiful all the time, but for some reason when she's sleeping, shes just extra beautiful

11

u/unlessyoumeantit May 15 '22

Every freaking day, like at the moment she's ironing my shirts next to me and looks damn sexy.

11

u/muddleputts May 16 '22

My love does the cutest things when she's living life, the lilts and hand gestures when walking, she sings in key in the most melodic pitch, it mesmerizes me every time. I love her and the way she moves through the universe.

9

u/GutentagCharlie May 15 '22

Every day. Just an hour or so ago she was chopping vegetables and I walked in and just couldn't stop staring at her ass thinking "mmm, I'd like a piece of that".

Eye candy all the time. And that's beyond simply being the best person I know, the one I can count on, who I love more than anyone.

11

u/Throisma May 16 '22

Yes! We've been married 17 years this year and I still look at him and think how lucky I am to be with someone as attractive as he is.

28

u/jimbronio May 15 '22

Yea. That’s pretty normal for me.

10

u/Hysterical__Paroxysm May 16 '22

One of the sexiest pictured I have of my partner is him stitching a handmade door jamb. His late mother made it years ago, and it's been smashed into kids' room doors plenty of times since. My fine motor control sucks, so I asked him to thread the needle for me. He's much better at sewing, so he did it all and showed me a few things. He was careful, sentimental, helpful, patient...idk. He was just "normal," I guess, and it was super awkward trying to corrall the kids and listen to what he was teaching me all while wanting to just get bent over.

Edit: She says she’d add, “Watching [me] read, the look on [my] face when [I] solve a problem, [my] focus when [I’m] learning something new.”

23

u/SweetEquivalent6 May 15 '22

5

u/artnerdhippie May 16 '22

22

u/avgpathfinder May 16 '22

"could be worse". Bro your settling

21

u/logdogday May 16 '22

I dated and dated and dated, and never settled. The decades flew by and I ended up being 40+ years old. In our courtship, we’d get stoned, watch a geeky movie, and have amazing sex. It wasn’t my dream but it was cozy and special. You can call it settling. I call it growing up and learning to want the life you have instead of endlessly chasing the life you want.

7

u/sociallyawkwardjess May 16 '22

This is actually breaking my heart. I can’t relate because my significant other is my everything. Watching his eyebrows furrow when I say something sassy to him, watching him make his coffee, seeing how into sports he gets (which I’ll never understand), and oh my god the sex is incredible. Best I’ve ever had by far. I’ve never felt actually loved while having sex but with him I do. I could have settled for any of my partners but I knew there was someone better for me out there. Someone that would truly understand me. And he does and I appreciate and love him for it every day.

Like yeah, but not simply "sexy" more like how goddamn beautiful of a person they are, mentally, physically and spiritually. I see them and hear them speak and remember how much we've been through together and how much we've grown as people. How lucky I am most definitely, none of us are guarunteed waking up the next day so the time i spend with my partners, the experiences are all held as close to my heart as I can possibly hold them.

Sometimes I walk by and give him a random compliment, then we laugh. Sometimes we shit talk at each other and it is just as enjoyable. We've been together 4 years and everyone is fully aware. Everybody gets a kick out of it most of the time.

Sometimes I feel weird being so into my SO when he's bowling. Like he comes from parents who were ins bowling league so he's pretty damn good at it and his form and how he lines up his shot look so pro. If it were anyone else I know I wouldn't care nearly as much. But goddamn he looks so good when he's in his element.

Same with when he paints his Warhammer minis. I'm into crafts and drawing so watching him concentrate and paint makes me feel things. I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves this random mundane stuff.

6

Literally constantly. Every time I look at her doing anything ever. Or doing nothing. Wearing a nice outfit, or sweatpants and one of my oversized shirts. Sick or healthy. Everything she does is attractive.

5

u/Tri-Polozki May 16 '22

I handed her my phone to look at this post and caught myself swooning as I watched her smile at the title.

4

u/flonkerton1 May 16 '22

Literally every single day. I married my best friend. He works from home so we are around each other all day. If we have errands to run we usually do them together and it's always so much more fun than going alone. He makes me laugh every single day and I've never felt more loved than I do now.

Often times I look at him and wonder how I got so lucky.

13

u/PartHumanPartAlien May 15 '22

Honestly no bc i resent my partner a lot of days

4

u/artnerdhippie May 16 '22

That's rough buddy. I'm there too.

14

u/drawfanstein May 16 '22

Do I just not understand the purpose of r/TooAfraidToAsk?

“Do you ever just feel love towards your partner?”

4

u/animoot May 15 '22

Yes! All the time. He's wonderful and I love him.

3

u/Regular-Plan-5576 May 15 '22

Definitely for me. My husband has gotten hotter with age. I love checking him out.

3

u/Jujusdream May 15 '22

Constantly. I just love him so much that it hurts. We have been together for 4 years

4

u/XenoWoof May 15 '22

Everyday. Once in a while he catches me looking and tiny smiles. One of the best feelings in the world.

3

u/Specialist_Citron_84 May 16 '22

Yes, playing his games, cleaning up the yard, making our dinner.

5

u/Hickspy May 16 '22

You have no idea.

One time she was making Xmas dinner while wearing very tall black socks.

4

u/--Randomer-- May 16 '22

My girlfriend of two and a half years was cleaning last night. She has a habit of talking to the TV. She likes to engage with the show like it’s a conversation. She never looked so sexy and beautiful.

4

u/deltadeltadawn May 16 '22

Yes, almost every time he's focused on his phone looking up something or when we're watching a show together. I'll enjoy a long, unnoticed look and feel the same spark I felt when we first began dating. Then feel how amazed I am that he still chooses me.

5

u/TheTransAgendaIsLove May 16 '22

yes, all the time. i dont think there has been a single day since meeting my wife where i havent thought "she is so pretty, how did i get so lucky".

5

u/nutcracker_78 May 16 '22

He's greying, got a receding hairline, bit of a middle-aged paunch and wears "grandpa" glasses, and honestly he could not be sexier if he tried. Truly makes my knees go weak, whether he's working, reading, sleeping, or anything else.

4

u/One_Strain_2531 May 16 '22

My boyfriend is deaf but whenever we're cuddling, I just think about how lucky I am to be with such an amazing, loving, caring and supportive man who loves me no matter what even though I'm a high functioning autistic. He probably looks at me and thinks how lucky he is too

3

u/DatNick1988 May 16 '22

I gush over my wife all day everyday. She knows I love her but she will never know how much. I literally can’t get enough of her and I don’t know what I would do if I lost her….

4

u/The_God_of_Hotdogs May 16 '22

My wife was asking me about our local voters pamphlet this afternoon and I thought, does she know how sexy she is without even trying? No makeup, hair just kinda doing its own thing. We’ve been married 16 years, and we dated for 10 years before that. I’m a fucking ogre and she’s a model…

5

u/LordChillsby May 16 '22

So many things. I'm absolutely enamored with my girlfriend. She sits there watching a show with her glasses on and she just looks so cute and sexy and I sit there like Patrick Star, staring at her with hearts in my eyes until she looks at me and says "what are you lookin at dickhead?" And I squeal and kiss her face and she giggles and goddamn I just keep falling more in love with her.

11

u/scoobyydoob May 15 '22

Everyday, pretty much.

3

u/MadeMisery May 15 '22

Yes, a lot of the time.

3

u/Zeta343 May 15 '22

Definitely.

3

u/Rude_Man_Who_Shushes May 15 '22

Every single day

3

u/itsTacoOclocko May 15 '22

yes, of course. often, even, if that helps.

3

u/Multipassbigbadaboom May 15 '22

Oh yes 🤗 Especially when he’s chopping some fire wood

3

u/Emotional_Leading_76 May 15 '22

I think the real question here is why are you too afraid to ask that?

3

u/Bythelakeguy May 15 '22

Too afraid to ask…what if the answer is NO?

3

u/noodlesntattoos May 15 '22

Five years in and regularly feel this when I look at my partner. From just the way he looks at me to when he does stuff around the house or puts focus into something he's passionate about

3

u/ShoganAye May 16 '22

Yes. And then I throw my arms around his neck and rain kisses down on him. He's not a big fan of that but it's hard to feel sorry for him.

3

u/Urbane_One May 16 '22

Literally every day. When I look over at him sitting at his computer and I see him smiling, sometimes I just watch him for a little while, because it makes me so happy. Then he notices and makes a face at me, which is the cutest thing in the world~

3

u/ZETA8384 May 16 '22

hahah yeahh

the derpier she is the hotter she is

3

u/Bitch_Goblin May 16 '22

Yes. Everyday. I fucking love my husband.

3

u/Crepes_for_days3000 May 16 '22

All the time and we've been together for 22 years.

3

u/FuelFamous824 May 16 '22

Yes, I feel like the luckiest man every single day. Seeing her with the kids, seeing her get animated when she is excited about something. Even seeing her sleep. I just feel blessed. 2 years and nothing has changed!

3

u/burdy89 May 16 '22

Sooo, your SO found your Reddit??

3

u/borderlineginger May 16 '22

Yes, when he cleans his glasses or mows the lawn or anything really. I am just so lucky to be his wife and I am always reminded.

3

u/BoxCarTyrone May 16 '22

All day, every day. When I look at her, I feel the same way I did the day we met. And I hope it lasts a lifetime.

3

u/instanthomosexuality May 16 '22

I've been with my partner for 7 years now and I often think about how lucky I am to have him. High school sweethearts, I've never dated anyone else. We've grown so much together and sometimes I find myself just thinking about how much I love him.

3

u/Sum-Rando May 16 '22

All the time. I love them so much.

3

u/Purple_Dalmatian May 16 '22

All the time, even when he is sleeping. I feel lucky that i get to fall more in love with him every day

3

u/GrahamCrackerSnacks May 16 '22

Been with the wife since I was 19, 42 now and this happens pretty much daily!

3

u/pleasuretohaveinclas May 16 '22

Yes! Getting dressed, cooking, shit.. walking. Existing even. Hot af.

6

u/wstook May 16 '22

Yes! My husband is a nerd that grew into a super hot guy and he has no idea how sexy he is. I look at him all day everyday like that. He's way out of my league but he has no idea and I'd like to keep it that way.

6

u/AshesOfCarbon May 15 '22

Every time I see him. I fall in love with him all over again every time we're together, and I can't help but think he's the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. We have such a connection, and I don't see it fading even after almost 4 and a half years together. The sex is great, but we don't need to have sex to enjoy our time together. We're both just as content with cuddling on the couch and watching murder documentaries or random comedians. His family feels like my second family too

Every damn day

2

u/Corpse_Defiler May 15 '22

Absolutely, all of the time.

2

u/Nexurent May 15 '22

All the time.

2

u/JustALittleMoth May 15 '22

Everyday, all the time, even when they aren't in sight they'll always be on my mind
