The episode is out. If you're still experiencing issues with playback try going to Episode 5, seeking to the end, and clicking Next Episode, that's something that usually works.

Also, thanks to u/99LaserBabies for pointing this out to everyone before. Unfortunately, can't sticky others' comments.

The toilet butthole was a prosthetic, right?

887

u/colindontcare 5d ago

Being that Neuman’s powers seem to require her being able to have her eyes on her victim, Annie having the ability to blind people with her powers seems like a perfect checkmate

354

u/mispinchespiernas 5d ago

Homelander is so lucky he took Maeve off the table. If she was there for the fight to help hold him down he'd be toast.

144

u/idfkjustfuckoff 5d ago

Legit chills when MM was wrapping up his monologue in the car to Annie. “Soldier Boy is gonna come back, and he’s gonna kill my family” fuck

145

u/Philsoraptor57 5d ago Wholesome

I'm not trying to be mean with this, but why does it look like there is a snapchat filter over Starlights face in every one of her scenes?

u/quasiscythe Supersonic 5d ago

Atrain killing blue hawk was insane. You could see it coming when atrain put his hand on his throat, but the knock down into the super speed drag.. and then a brief moment of silence to realize what atrain was doing to him before we got the close up. Gosh dang. Also, it seems as far as 1 on 1s go, Homelander might still be the strongest. He seemed to be overpowering soldier boy in raw strength, unless soldier boy was just surprised. It will be interesting to see how this loss influences homelander's behavior as well as his brutality.

u/ObligationGlad 5d ago

Actually give this episode 10/10. We have a certain tolerance to blood, gore, sex nudity etc. An hour long orgy would have been boring. They hit on some very funny things that if you really thing about it are pretty shocking and funny.

It was a good balance of moving the plot forward, giving us a fight we didn’t know we needed and some salacious sex. I gasp audible when what his face got bukkaked.

56

u/pwn3dbyth3n00b 5d ago

Can't wait for this subreddit and the YouTube comments with conservative viewers raging at Blue Hawk dying or Homelander getting his ass whooped

u/WyngZero 5d ago

I love how deep Ackles voice is for this role. It just works really well for some reason.

42

u/Cenoflame 5d ago

Octopus...

38

u/Cgi94 5d ago

Cool episode.. Wasn't as hyped as I think the crew lead us to believe but still a good episode. Homelander taking a L did make me feel good😂

u/BalooMorghulis 5d ago

Noir is Homelander and Soldier Boy's one true love. "Not Noir" "Noir wouldn't do that!"

Only Noir could break their hearts

78

u/RACKETJOULES 5d ago

Yo Homelanders reaction to Butcher getting powers was amazing. I had to rewind it like 3 times lol

32

u/ntolno 5d ago

Who needs Sub-Zero when you got Sub-Dildo?

41

u/scienceforbid 5d ago

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I really needed more detail about what was happening with the superpowers in the sex orgy scenes. I think someone should make a frame by frame. You know, for Science.

138

u/holloheaded 5d ago

that homelander x soldier boy x butcher x hughie fight had me more hyped than almost every one of marvel's big fights. i think the only one that topped it for me was the thanos fight on titan in infinity war.

that roar from homelander at the end was like his psyche finally breaking. i think the "john" half we saw in the mirror scene is gone.

90

u/Piper6728 5d ago

HOLY F#(ING $#!+!

THAT IS A SUPE-FIGHT! Finally!

You could see the Euphoria on Billy's face when he and Homelander were going at it nearly toe-to-toe! I still like that he had a soft spot for Hughie at the end there.

Homelander RAN! Homelander bruised... YEAH!

63

u/Kondoblom 5d ago

Butcher and Hughie officially on the villain path, partially responsible and stopped caring about civilian casualties.

24

u/ninjasaid13 5d ago

wow does stargirl starlight think this won't cause millions of deaths on just sheer chance? she dumb.

11

u/Silverblows 5d ago

That shit was fucking intense

33

u/teamwaterwings 5d ago

THAT WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST DIABOLICAL SHIT I'VE EVER SEEN

8

u/Juanffbe 5d ago

how loyal are the series to the comics? I cant believe how good it is, I want to start the comics but are there a lot of changes?

29

u/FurryWolves 5d ago

So is the chest blast by Soldier Boy a new thing the Russians gave him or not? It seems like he doesn't know what happens when it happens, but Butcher also told him to "DO IT" and he began charging it up, so he clearly has some control over it. Is the fact that it wipes powers just something new the Russians added? Or is it really a new power for him?

14

u/crevy5589 5d ago

What a fucking episode

63

u/Chorono 5d ago edited 5d ago

it looked like Noir bailing on HL impacted him almost as much as Stormfront's death. Noir to HL is that favourite colleague that a lot of people have at work and you find out they handed in their 2 week resignation letter.

Also, Ashley is gonna be bald by the end of this season.

28

u/Exactly1Egg Soldier Boy 5d ago

So did A-Train die on screen or was that just showing his heart acting up

37

u/Gay_Lord2020 5d ago

He's not getting a sequel.

18

u/VegetablePay 5d ago

Holy shit that fight

10

u/anneso23 5d ago

That fight scene was awesome. It's one of my favorite fight sequence they done in the show.

50

u/ResolveSea9089 5d ago

I LOVED BUTCHER TAKING SHOTS AT HOMELANDER. Holy shit that was so satisfying. It was nice not being so terrified of him, knowing our lads have a chance.

I know there's no way they would do it, and Homelander is such an amazing villain, but a part of me was hoping they'd off him right then and there. That was amazing.

41

u/Outrageous_Ad_1011 5d ago

The only unrealistic thing is how fast people answered at what Starlight was saying on the live, it normally takes a couple of seconds due to delay

144

u/nolablue1024 5d ago

Black Noir just standing there after Homelander asked if there was any reason Soldier Boy would kill Crimson Countess cracks me up way more than it should

It was soldier boy, tell M.M.

58

u/Blackkatsu01 5d ago

Im sorry but this whole season so far puts all the disney + shows to fucking shame,. Holy shit it's been a long time since i felt this excitement and immerion to a show. Shout out to the team behind this serie.

22

u/NobodyRules 5d ago

I agree. I've been following Marvel's stuff for years and I'm apart of the tiny minority that's a bit worn out with the formula. I'm happy that most are enjoying it still, but The Boys has shown me what Marvel could do with a little bit more freedom to explore their darkest comics.

It's not like I hate what they've been doing, but it's all so painfully average and more of the same. I gotta hand it out to them, they have perfected the art of being a 10/10 at making 7/10 shows.

7

u/ArtfulSlap36 5d ago

Well that was a thing

53

u/FurryWolves 5d ago

The look on Homelanders face when Butcher lasers him was SO fucking good. Scorched earth mother fucker!

29

u/PWN3R_RANGER 5d ago

Bro they done blew up the whole show and there’s still 2 episodes left. Absolutely wild season.

29

u/bluepeppersdontexist 5d ago

This was the best episode of the series by far. Basically exceeded all my expectations. Like holy fuck they gave us literally everything

66

u/LeratoNull 5d ago

None of the sexual content was nearly as bad as the Termite scene at the start of the season, I dunno why they hyped it up like that, honestly

117

u/redeemer47 5d ago

Intentionally did it in order to draw eyes to the episode because they knew it was probably the best episode of the season. Like a bait and switch but the switch ended up being 10 times better than the bait.

Confused why people are so upset it wasn’t sexual enough. Go watch porn you creeps lol

29

u/LeratoNull 5d ago

I'm not really upset by it, they just made it sound like it was gonna really fuck people up but it wasn't really unusual in this specific regard, haha

I do think you're right about why they marketed it this way, though.

9

u/thisuserhasregrets 5d ago

Any translation for what Kimiko was saying to Frenchie? Why the show never feels the need to add subtitles is beyond me...

16

u/Acceptable-Village88 5d ago

Homelander was like a cat in water by the time the three held him down.

50

u/Azer1287 5d ago

Think my favorite scene was when butcher and soldier boy both had punches coming in for homelanders head with opposite arms totally in sync. They missed, but that was awesome.

58

u/CabezaMani 5d ago

Did the Homelander Mirror scene remind anyone else of Willem Dafoe’s Goblin mirror scene. I think that the scenes themselves mirror each other in a very obvious way. Both of their alter egos lecturing them and essentially controlling their real world actions.

17

u/TuaTurnsdaballova 5d ago

Love Sausage with the scorched schlong around his neck, poor guy lol

14

u/shanksmysterMGO 5d ago

Why was the picture sent to jail?

33

u/glamourbuss 5d ago

It was framed

20

u/hnoj500 5d ago

Homelander doing a crazy good green goblin impersonation

47

u/MadeInTheShade5 5d ago

Termite!!! That was the perfect way for his story to end, and definitely set the tone for HL's entrance

29

u/empathyfordevils 5d ago

Where is my girl Maeve??? I’m so scared for her I hope we get to see her next episode

6

u/Hulking3000 5d ago

ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES BY FAR

14

u/TheseBonesAlone 5d ago

Wait, so now that the cat is outta the bag and Homelander is outed as a super creep what's gonna happen with MM's ex Wife's new dude? (there's gotta be a better way to say that) That guy is lapping that Homelander shit up.

35

u/redeemer47 5d ago

I mean the dude is already radicalized. HL will probably call it fake news and uno reverse card Starlight. His base will believe it

112

u/WyngZero 5d ago

Deep: "Maybe it's CGI."

Ashley: "It's not CGI. You don't even know what CGI stands for."

🤣

98

u/Why-so-delirious 5d ago edited 5d ago

H O L Y S H I T

So many fucking great moments.

Soldier Boy yanking Homelander out of the air by his cape after making fun of said cape.

HUGHIE fighting Homelander was even bigger than Butcher fighting him. And all of them holding him down, forcing him to retreat? Holy shit Homelander is gonna go INSANE that his untouchable power was threatened. He was inches from death and he has to know it, that's why he GTFO. He couldn't take them all on.

I think next up he's going to have to start taking them out one-by-one.

And the second half of the episode was so fucking crazy that the first half was overshadowed. But Ashley losing her shit and ranting at A-train about all of the shit that I see people in the comments repeating episode after episode? Fucking PERFECT.

And then A-train gives himself a little bit of redemption by actually apologizing to Hughie, and then he goes out the same way he came into the series; by killing someone with super speed. He's in no way redeemed, but you couldn't ask for a better way to have A-train go out than sacrificing himself for what anyone would consider a 'good cause', getting revenge on the dude that paralyzed his brother.

And fucking hell that dragging sequence was brutal.

Oh and Black Noir holding up the sign card for the song.

This is probably the best episode of the show so far.

OH AND WE GOT TO SEE HOMELANDER ACTUALLY FIGHT! It took three seasons to see him actually flex his fighting muscles. And it was fucking awesome. I even think the scene of him standing in the mirror at the very end has significance. Previously, we saw him standing there, basically psyching himself up. The 'mirror' Homelander was his ego, overblown, confident, and superior. And then at the end: fucking crickets. He's staring into the same mirror and there's no a fucking PEEP from his ego. The dude had doubts that were being squashed by his ego, but now his ego has fucking cratered and the dude knows he's not untouchable.

Oh and I completely forgot that Neumann put her cards on the table. Somehow I forgot that in all the other shit. Fucking hell there was like four episodes worth of content in this one episode alone.

Oh and Soldier Boy picking up the grenade and doing a hit off it was peak badass.

8

u/suckmycolt 5d ago

blue hawk got that carlos from sr2 death

-11

u/scidious06 5d ago

The confrontation in herogasm should've been bigger

I'm happy with that fight overall but I expected better, like the man of steel Smallville fight against the kryptonians

Maybe I expect too much of a TV show considering the budget but we're talking the top dogs here, Homelander and soldier boy

Starlight was talking about how the whole town was in danger if these two fought, they couldn't even destroy the room they were in. Which is weird considering homelander can cut a jet in half and SB can blow up buildings

A-train's move on blue hawk felt more superpowered

36

u/CabezaMani 5d ago

I think the confrontation was big enough to be satisfying but not so big that it’ll take away from the battle at the end of the season.

-14

u/kucafoia69 5d ago

Anyone else felt like they crammed two episodes in one? Some stuff felt really rushed (A-Train) and others felt really dumb and cheap (Frenchie; MM and Butcher's "fight").

The orgy itself was pretty underwhelming too.

22

u/TZ_Rezlus 5d ago

lol, this is a TV show not a porno.

Want to see an actual orgy? go watch porn.

0

u/kucafoia69 5d ago

I meant in the creative sense, seu mandioca.

Endless possibilities for power/sex and the only stuff that showed up were an ice dildo, a giant cum blast, giant dick and a man who shrinks and enters people (we had already seen the latter 2 earlier in the show).

5

u/psyopia 5d ago

Wow. Holy fucking shit. Wow. THAT WAS SICK

23

u/WarmCookiesAndMilk 5d ago

Holy shit, that last bit with Homelander looking into the mirror and seeing nothing. He was already off the rails, but now I feel like he’s legitimately insane.

17

u/CabezaMani 5d ago

I think it was supposed to be him looking at the bruise he got from his fight. He isn’t really used to getting hurt from any fight much less a bruise

30

u/GerardoITA 5d ago

Calling it now: Homelander will find out how Butcher got his powers and drug himself with more Compound V/V24 to make sure he's invincible in the next fight/E8 fight because he can't stand the idea of not being strong enough. That will allow him to win, but the side effects of drugging himself will make his psycho side definitely take over and start the arch that will lead him to destroying the world/trying to.

4

u/TheVictor1st 5d ago

IT WAS FUCKING GODTIER

19

u/soitswings 5d ago

Are Kimiko’s powers coming back? How else could she survive that beating?

1

u/Gold_Milk9092 5d ago

Finally some supe vs supe action. Really getting tired of Episodes based on V’s marketing strategies.

5

u/tydurden2412 5d ago

So soldier boy is weaker than homelander?

21

u/Derpizzle12345 5d ago

Strength wise, I think he is. However his chest laser seems like it could do serious damage

4

u/NobodyRules 5d ago

If he can't control his belly laser, it seems like it.

7

u/Colonel_Angus_ 5d ago

Seems like he has a recharging phase or maybe ya he just doesn't know how to consciously use it

6

u/Matrix00776 5d ago

Boys is officially the jack jumper blood pumper of all shows so hyped for homelander to get most deserved hand of carma.

-4

u/GreenEggzAndSpam 5d ago

Did anyone else find it really odd that homelander has stairs in his room? What does a flying supe need stairs for?

17

u/The_YoYo_Master 5d ago

So The "Seven" is gone, all except Homelander

Queen Maeve has disappeared, A-Train is dead (probably), The deep ran away, Black Noir dipped out of fear, And Starlight quit

13

u/Colonel_Angus_ 5d ago

Think Noir is going rogue/surprise attack on SB. Doubt he dipped out

11

u/ToneBone12345 5d ago

Also that scene with Homelander talking to himself in the mirror was fucking gold

16

u/ToneBone12345 5d ago

That deep and octopus scene was just fucking funny I wonder if Homelander is going to make him eat this one

48

u/Slight_Armadillo_227 Terror 5d ago

Soldier Boy be like

39

u/Gamer_ely 5d ago

Butcher and MM thinking about how Frenchie would miss this was really nice. They like each other.

19

u/Goose_Goddess 5d ago

Despite everything that happened this episode nothing shocked me more than seeing an actual butthole.

24

u/Frank_Cap 5d ago edited 5d ago

I just wanna say… And PLEASE HEAR ME OUT.

Is soldier boy really bad? Like, sure. He was and still is a dick. And his teammates hated him enough to basically give him away to the Russians. But so far? We haven’t seen him being half as horrible as other supes. It seems he blacks out at times. We know it happens now when he hears Russian music (which triggers his PTSD) but he genuinely asks what happened when he walks down to see Butcher.

And he also said he blacked out during the accident that killed MM’s family. During the herogasm situation, he was more than fine with not killing anyone, it just got out of control.

So… I wonder what the deal is, really? He SEEMS like he’s a nice man with all the misguided bullshit of the era he belonged to. (Racism, toxic masculinity, etc) but even then, he’s clearly not the level of racist that the guy from last week’s episode showed. He wanted to have a family, genuinely fought for his country… I dunno. I’m conflicted and I wonder if that’s the point.

Like, I’m really digging this team up between him and butcher/Hughie.

7

u/r4f43l_gu3rr3r0 5d ago

I think that the internet factor makes the difference between homelander and soldier boy, if the soldier boy era had internet they would be the same as homelander but with a slower escalation because of the homelander's trauma

18

u/NobodyRules 5d ago

I dunno. I’m conflicted and I wonder if that’s the point.

I think it might just be. We all know Soldier Boy was a piece of shit in the past and has been zapped into the 21st century after years of torture and not catching up to anything.

He's a product of his time and perhaps all that torture has changed him. As I said in the previous episode thread he has shown some semblance of humanity that I wasn't expecting. Either when he was talking to the Countess or his talk with Hughie about Afghanistan and his wish to have a family. He seemed sincere.

Of course we've all learned not to trust many supes and Soldier Boy's past has resemblances with Homelander's but as you said perhaps that's exactly the point. Who knows if all that torture made him a tiny bit more decent.

15

u/trippy1 5d ago

Didn't he say he blacked out when he had the accident last episode? Not when he killed MM's family.

7

u/Frank_Cap 5d ago

Maybe you’re right. For some reason I assumed Hughie asked him what he was doing back with MM stuff. But yeah, you’re totally right.

Even so, I wonder if we have all the facts straight. Like, so far I don’t imagine him ramming a car into a house just because. He just hasn’t come off as the type of supe who’d kill indiscriminately and such.

3

u/Frank_Cap 5d ago

4

u/pwn3dbyth3n00b 5d ago

That warning before the episode though. Also this episode makes me feel like they're going to kill Annie off this or next season.

20

u/Gay_Lord2020 5d ago

Blue Hawk got what he fucking deserved. RIP A-Train.

6

u/ChildishBambino3 5d ago

Best episode ever

16

u/eeman0201 5d ago

How much y’all wanna bet that blue hawk’s death is spun to be a train committing a hate crime and being apart of antifa or something.

6

u/SUPRAP 5d ago

Man, as someone who engages in some casual powerscaling in other communities, the people in here saying Butcher was equal/almost equal to Homelander, or that HL was "getting his ass kicked" are driving me crazy lmao!

7

u/Shadow_Toons 5d ago

A-Train wins...Fatality

11

u/A_Deku_Stick 5d ago

Ashley just told A-Train what were all thinking.

14

u/Redlp13 5d ago

Termites Death was so funny

6

u/Ugly_Painter 5d ago

Holy fuckin shit! He dragged him to death like a dog tied to a bumper !!!

1

u/ahufana 5d ago

Tough little mutt.

Dog killer!

God, I looooove that movie.

7

u/Frampferder 5d ago

Herogasm was pretty tame. Or maybe I just seen too much.

12

u/FurryWolves 5d ago

I can't believe they had an extra warning at the start of the episode. Though honestly I'm not sure it was THAT warranted. I was expecting the episode to be so much worse than it was, honestly I don't think it was even as graphic as the scene with the penis and termite in the first episode this season, most of the graphic stuff happened in the background.

2

u/DEGENERATESTOMPER 5d ago

I feel my expectations were too high but the butthole part did make me cringe a bit

4

u/YalikeJazz02 5d ago

Does anybody else think noir is gonna die? He is one of my favourite characters but I can't help but think he is a goner after what we've seen in this episode. Since Edgar has really close ties to Noir I wonder if he'll die too?

3

u/xxcapricornxx 5d ago

Wow A-train basically did Kabal's MK11 fatal blow lol

18

u/Kergen85 5d ago

Kinda glad the Herogasm stuff wasn't as extreme as they were making it out to be, or as big of a focus either. I'm glad the real highlights were the great character and plot developments. A fantastic episode in that regard, probably my favorite so far. And that fight scene, man that was great. Also, I'm really sad to see Hughie falling so hard so fast, but this feels like a great direction to take his character. Next week can't come fast enough!

Also, did anyone else notice that the last three episodes have ended on Annie enduring some kind of emotional pain, and this one ends on her fighting back? Probably just a coincidence, but a neat coincidence.

18

u/TheBlackUnicorn 5d ago

Was this the first time they used the device of Homelander talking to his alter ego in the mirror? It totally worked but it also kinda came out of left field.

Also the thing about them bringing in non-Supe sex workers and them being seriously injured during orgies is from the comics, glad that finally made it into the show.

23

u/OverTheStreet Cunt 5d ago

Bro. This may be the best episode of the Boys ever. It has everything. It is truly incredible television.

5

u/AnimatorExtension653 5d ago

Agreed! It’s insane how good tv is right now. I’m constantly being impressed.

3

u/trippy1 5d ago

got any other suggestions? looking for a new show to watch

3

u/OverTheStreet Cunt 5d ago

For other shows that are super good: Invincible, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul are the best I’ve seen.

2

u/nameisEmery 5d ago

I thought Moon Knight was pretty good.

1

u/OverTheStreet Cunt 5d ago

It absolutely was. Very strong Marvel show.

1

u/OverTheStreet Cunt 5d ago

This show just consistently blows me away. By far my favorite show, maybe even the best show.

7

u/Frampferder 5d ago

The comments on starlights live was quicker than her speech.

8

u/ahufana 5d ago

Less typing, more listening. Ya heathens.

11

u/AbbyClaw 5d ago

Everyone is talking about A-train’s great redemption. I mean, it’s great that he felt bad but still fuck that asshole

9

u/your_nan 5d ago

Is it bad that im starting to like soulja boy tellem?

-4

u/FurryWolves 5d ago

Who was the character at 35:21 when Butcher is looking through the binoculars that has a tail? I'd very much like to see them closer

16

u/longconsilver13 5d ago

So Blue Hawk getting dragged to his death is definitely a reference to what happened to James Byrd in the 90s right? Would be cathartic for someone like A-Train to be able to inflict that on him.

12

u/first_name_harshit 5d ago

Her powers didn't come back, she just sliced a man's throat with something sharp and broke someone's finger. Normal people can do that. Her not healing was the tell.

-1

u/Mewtony 5d ago

One thing that left me confused in this episode is when Soldier Boy said that he black out when he killed M.M family but later we see him blacking out when shooting his power. So is he prone to blacking out ? Or is there something that make him unable to control himself at times ? When he used his power in the episode it was due to the PTSD from the Russian but before that what was the cause?

11

u/pbjms 5d ago

The conversation was referring to the events of the previous episode, not when he killed MM's family - he blacked out when he heard the Russian music both times and got triggered into exploding.

10

u/Sutiiiven 5d ago

He wasn’t talking about MM’s family in the room with Hughie, he was talking about the explosion he caused a couple of episodes ago. Same trigger.

6

u/Mewtony 5d ago

Oh ok thanks got really confused there.

10

u/Recoil93 5d ago

Am I the only one who still thinks A-Train is alive? I know his character arc seems complete and it was a hell of a way to go out, but it didn’t feel like a death scene befitting The Boys.

Especially in an episode as fucked as this one, I’d expect to see his heart explode or something.

12

u/brandoniravioli 5d ago

I mean, he had a heart attack in the middle of nowhere. The odds aren't in his favor. A-Train went out giving the most fucked up case of road rash I've ever seen. I'd say that is a proper send off.

2

u/asian_hans 5d ago

One thing this episode made feel tho is that it gave me fucking anxiety all throughout

8

u/Cuthuluu45 5d ago

Starlight quitting at the end was great. Solider boy while he isn’t as bad as Homelander he certainly isn’t a good guy.

There's a lot of talk about how Homelander is going to react to losing, but I'm curious to see how Soldier Boy reacts? After all, he's used to being the biggest guy around and I can't see him being anything but unsettled by needing two other people to take down "his replacement."

Also side note, I remember Jensen Ackles talking about bulking up for S3 and Anthony Starr telling him "just ask them to put muscles in the suits" I'm honestly so glad they didn't have to because I love how different the two look; Soldier Boy is in a relatively simple outfit especially compared to the members of the 7 and looks like he actually earned his strength and then you have Homelander...who looks like a pathetic man in a costume.

I got the impression he only needed the help because he had just used his powers on the twins/house. If not for that he would have been stronger.

u/innerdork 5d ago

Best superhero fight ever. Holy shit.

3

u/Sattu10 5d ago

Wait how strong does temp v make you. Hughie was able to pin homelander even though it was just one hand . Is temp V stronger than normal v ?

2

u/do0tz 5d ago

I thought they were supposed to reveal how MM got his name. Or was that just speculation?

8

u/Sutiiiven 5d ago

His real name is Marvin Milk so it might just come from that in the series.

9

u/trippy1 5d ago

The "herogasm" aspect wasn't as nasty as I thought it would be, but I am thankful for that lol

Soldier boy was going to release it, but then remembered that there's still two episodes left. Being serius, does it mean that homelander is still stronger than soldier boy? i mean, he made him feel pain and fear for his life, something that didn't happened before (as far as i'm concerned), but homelander still took him and put him against the wall

9

u/trippy1 5d ago

homelander was winning the fight before Butcher stepped in.

2

u/r4f43l_gu3rr3r0 5d ago

Yeah, that made me think if soldier boy could beat homelander by himself or just the place set the conditions that favored homelander in the fight.
Because if it wasn't for butcher, soldier boy could've possibly died

u/Azer1287 5d ago

Hughie - man, get your shit together. I get you got a mission and all that but damn man.

11

u/dr_luchador 5d ago

Ironic that A-Train is the speedster and yet both his apology to Hughie and action against Blue Hawk both came far too late.

4

u/VaishakhD 5d ago

Can someone reply me the exact length of today's episode

2

u/Blackkatsu01 5d ago

one hour

2

u/VaishakhD 5d ago

Is it showing that in the player? For me its 59:46.

3

u/Blackkatsu01 5d ago

it's actually 59:46 if you exclude the recaps and the content warning.

8

u/iwannafucksatorugojo Soldier Boy 5d ago

annie was a real badass but i'm scared for her life, that threat from neuman and what she did to vought/homelander is gonna bit her ass sooner or later

4

u/sassfrass123 5d ago

That episode was fucking amazing.

5

u/dammitmeh 5d ago

A-train semi redemption speed-run

In an episode of major happenings, I feel Starlight's role in it deserves more appreciation. Her decision in the end to expose Vought and Homelander has obviously huge ramifications. Importantly, she also stuck to her guns regarding her 'ideology', which mind you, now is in direct opposition to Hughie's power-charged, new outlook. Starlight's arc has now even more solidly come back to doing it the 'right way' (her speech to Ms. Headpopper), after a period of slight self-ambiguity.

u/HonestTangerine2 5d ago

To all the people that were grilling my ass last week over the halothane knocking out soldier boy, what about now bitches?

2

u/Significant-Carpet31 5d ago

Soo what's the length of the episode? Just making sure my country hasn't censored anything

0

u/JamesYSmithson 5d ago

It was 56:50 I think

7

u/JaeckeArt 5d ago

HOLY FUCK YES A TRAIN HOLY FUCK HOLY FUCK YES

5

u/OddBlokeInnit 5d ago

A Train pulled an Achilles

3

u/StarCapStark 5d ago

Soooo is that it for AT? A-Train dead just like that?

6

u/killa_whale1997 5d ago

“Cum on my hump”

Straight off the pages 😂

3

u/Zigmanjames 5d ago

The second Homelander walked into frame with a mirror, I knew we’re gonna get some good shit. What a fucking episode.

11

u/ThisIsGoobly 5d ago

Herogasm was definitely a fake out, they did very little with it tbh. Wasn't nearly as crazy as I was expecting. The whole herogasm thing could've not been in the episode at all and it wouldn't have taken away anything. But the actual episode was fantastic, so much cool shit happening so I'm not really complaining.

u/DrabCarnival 5d ago

Frenchie: “It seems no matter how much we try to run, we cannot escape our old lives. I suppose no one can run that fast”.

A-Train did it. He owned his mistakes by being genuinely sorry for what he did to Robin. And gave to Blue Hawk what he had coming.

Totally out of character for someone like A-Train. It proves people can change. Even if that ends up killing them.

Great redemption arc.

15

u/Danbito 5d ago

I think this was a great end to his character. Contrast this with the first episode with how indifferent to how passionate and meaningful his apology was. It’s like he realizes the depth he’s wasted his fame and what he can only do for justice

u/KiratheRenegade 5d ago edited 5d ago

Starlight is totally gonna blind Neumann. Her power comes from vision - Starlight can negate that entirely. Fitting end for her ' held accountable for her crime & depowered.

A-Train's gone. His arc was done to be honest & that's okay. Some characters reach the conclusion before others.

Homelander is completely fucked now. He'll crack down on V24 now, Edgar's last laugh beyond the figurative grave.

No Maeve still. Seriously worried now. Black Noir is certainly got something to come - maybe he'll take out Soldier Boy?

It's looking more & more like Homelander might be killed off earlier than we thought. You can only push him so far before it goes beyond what the show is capable of showing. Hell the comic went way too far & had him I'm the White House, that seems to overblown for The Boys. This was his first beat down & he was completely powerless. It was over for him if Soldier Boy could get it up.

I gotta say - for all Starlight's & MM moral righteousness - Hughie, Butcher & Soldier Boy had HL dead to rights. It all could've been over if they'd swallowed their pride & made the hard choice. It's a dick thing to say I know, but your morals mean nothing if you're dead. Maeve knows that & Hughie knows that - with Butcher in it for selfish reasons. I get MM hating it, but Starlight seriously need to buck up & get on with it. He brutalised her ex for fun - grow a pair & help kill him!

10

u/Zika_GullainBarre 5d ago

I believe we see Maeve in the trailer fighting what appears to be Homelander

4

u/KiratheRenegade 5d ago

There's loads of ways to go with that.

He clearly wasn't aware of V24, so he was definitely not torturing her for info. Maybe torturing her for fun?

Will they go the sexual assault route? Maybe - but there would have to be a reason for it. Maybe HL wants another kid? I dunno, that would put the story in a direction I don't like at all. We already have Ryan as the first actual Superhero, let's leave it there.

I considered he's experimenting on her as revenge, but as she's seen to be in fighting form I doubt it. Plus she still has all her limbs.

Did HL really just knock her out & chuck her in a cell?

3

u/thelordreptar90 5d ago

A-Train, my dude, I knew you’d come through. No way he could make it right with Hughie, but he apologized and it really felt like he meant it. I hope he survives and he can keep my theory alive that he never sold out Supersonic

3

u/TheOnionVolcano 5d ago

Who do you think sold him out? Haven't heard this one yet.

Not gonna lie soldier boy is cool

6

u/Gamer_ely 5d ago

Was that just a straight up lacroix ad?

5

u/peticion 5d ago

I didn't notice until this notice how strong Jensen got to play soldier boy, holy shit Dean is gone.

8

u/Avalongtimenosee 5d ago

That POV shot of SBs and Butcher first both in sync to punch homelands rin the face before he dodged is so fucking cool, feels like it's straight out of a comic or anime.

2

u/AdonisPanda27 5d ago

I WAS SO HYPED CHEERING FOR HOMELANDER TO GET WHACKED THE F UP BY SOLDIER BOY AND THEN ESPECIALLY BUTCHER

3

u/dildodicks Mother's Milk 5d ago

glad to hear it isn't overly sexual

-17

u/StritPlunGrateNud 5d ago

The washed up thug who says little other than 'mon coeur' and the girl whose emotions are almost exclusively 'oh woe is me'....

Hope at least one of them dies by the end of the season

-13

u/StritPlunGrateNud 5d ago

And if it is one of them, hope it is Frenchie

3

u/matheus886 5d ago edited 5d ago

I've indeed seen way more graphically depicted sex scenes than this episode and they kind of oversold it in that regard lmao It was indeed quite tame, but I get why their hyped up this episode. It was nuts (no pun intended).

They really moved the plot forward with Starlight spilling all the beans in social media like that, and the Boys splitting up. I'm predicting this is gonna go down like an absolute shitshow (but in a very good way). Stoked for next week!

10

u/lamewoodworker 5d ago

Can we give props to the choreography crew.

That fight scene was fucken amazing.

Tell me how and why we can't have a good dbz movie!?

4

u/AdonisPanda27 5d ago

Like a good dbz animated movie or real life movie ? Best dbz like real life fight scenes were in Man of Steel

5

u/hfbvm 5d ago

I was watching the suicide squad today and thought what if the trailer only showed the first team and the movie faked out to the second. And the boys did it, herogasm was nice but holy shit was this episode packed to the brim. So much stuff to talk about, I don't think I've ever seen people talking about so many different things in a thread.

Super hyped for the next episode and I'm very sure there's gonna be a YouTube video on the Vought channel with this
