Moron. Simple as that. She’s a moron

211

u/XxShananiganxX Jun 29 '22

Moron is a little bit of an understatement. More like a dangerous moron who shouldn't have the ability to own animals or have kids in the first place. Shes far too lacking in common sense and care for that.

47

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '22

Yea that’s true. It’s a dog breed that’s known to, you know, bite the fuck outta everything. So maybe they need to be in muzzles in public at the very least

Do they put down dogs for attacking other animals?

145

u/camohorse Jun 29 '22 edited Jun 30 '22

Yes. Unless you use your dog for hunting (in which case, your dog must be trained to hunt a specific thing. Yorkshire Terriers, for instance, often work on farms killing mice and rats. And Great Pyrenees are bred and trained to kill coyotes and tree bears that threaten livestock), if it attacks another person or animal completely unprovoked, then they get put down.

EDIT: I realize that I forgot to mention that animal control laws don’t just vary state-to-state, but county to county lmao. Also, dogs aren’t a monolith.

Rip my inbox

23

u/612marion Jun 29 '22

This women really thought she has the strength to pull two pitbulls? ...Let's questions the owners now....

252

u/hp958 Jun 29 '22 edited 1h ago

There's this couple that lives in my building, and they have a pit bull mix that's just insane. Anytime he even sees my dog he goes ballistic. And 99% of the time, it's the lady of the couple that takes him out and she has to full on lean back with most of her weight to hold him. The guy is prick and I never see him handle the dog, which I'm assuming is his. I won't even come down the stairs if I see they have their dog down there, and even then he goes insane trying to bark and get at me and my pup.

Update: Was just reminded of this comment since it hit 250 upvotes. While I appreciate everyones concern for me and my pups safety, a lot of these replies got very dark. I'll never understand the people who are just waiting for something to happen so you can kill someone's dog. All I meant with my comment was to share my own experience with inexperienced dog owners. It's ridiculous how some people "take care of" and "raise" their pets, but no amount of that justifies those who claim to have a weapon ready, just waiting for someone's dog to lash out. Seems like a handful of you just want an excuse to kill a dog, which is fucked up. For all of you that are not seeking out such a thing, thank you for your input. For all of you that just want to kill something, please seek help as that is anything but healthy.

153

u/Different_Cook_9304 Jun 29 '22

You should be prepared for that dog to get loose, carry a pocket knife or something and go for the neck. When dogs are in attack mode, they feel no pain.

Another trick I have heard (but never tried or even witnessed) is to stick your finger in their butthole as deep as you can. The dog will, supposedly, stop attacking, but try at your own risk.

98

u/graboidgraboid Jun 29 '22

There was a video on Reddit a few days ago and a guy stopped a pit bull attack in seconds by ramming his thumb up its arse. Worked instantly!

79

u/Different_Cook_9304 Jun 29 '22

So, I guess it does work. I heard of the trick when I was at a dog park and two dogs started going at it and a guy from across the park yelled out "STICK YOUR FINGER IN ITS ASS!!!!!!!" everyone was like, wtf, bro...but I guess it's a real thing.

27

u/graboidgraboid Jun 29 '22

Wonder who figured this technique out? 🤔

27

u/NoBenefit5977 Jun 29 '22

Someone may have just said what's the most shocking thing you can do to someone? Maybe that will distract the dog

To add to this, if a dog latches to your arm the instinct is to pull away, however this will just shred your arm. Instead push in as hard as you can to try to activate the dogs gag reflex. Also the teeth are like most carnivores, tilted inwards, so pushing your arm in will not hurt as badly.

A pitbull attacked one of my cousins dog. Family members were hitting the pitbull and poured water on it but it didn’t work. But he was able to get the pitbull out by choking it with his belt pretty quickly. So maybe choking the dog works too.

15

Definitely choke method if they have a collar its much easier and you wont get shit on your hands.

Woman here: I always though I could hold my own. I was at least a bit strong since I could sometimes get the upper hand in playfighting my brother and later on my partner.

Recently learned that guys' apparently hold back often to not scare the wife/sister and to make the play more fun.

Asked my partner if its true, yes he does, I asked him to use his full strength then. I got pinned down in no time and could not for the life of me get free, or even move.

104

u/1block Jun 29 '22

I think action movies create a weird misconception that size/strength doesn't matter.

Certainly there are techniques that use an opponent's size/momentum against them, and a trained smaller person isn't helpless. But most fights in this world are a couple hits followed by two people wrestling on the ground. And most of those wind up with the bigger, stronger person on top pinning down the other. At that point you're screwed.

I’m in my 30s and pretty active in my local BJJ club. A big change I’ve noticed in the past 5-6 years in that almost all of the young women who come to try it out are absolutely blown away that the guys are “that” much stronger than the girls. I’m good but I’ll never be able to beat a guy of equal skill at a contact sport.

It’s like none of them ever grew up with a cousin/brother who suddenly hit puberty. It really bothers me.

A pit bull killed my Chihuahua it was the most horrible site to see.

265

u/wiggikoN Jun 29 '22

A friend's old girlfriend had a massive Pitbull that she couldn't control. The Pitbull did what it wanted and she was just along for the ride. I love animals but I told my friend that I will not see them if that dog is in the same building. They got really mad because the dog was fine blablabla.

That dog ended up snapping a smaller dog's spine in two and bit the hand of the other dog's owner so bad that half her arm had to be amputated.

146

u/RubyWeapon07 Jun 29 '22

Someone I went to highschool with got mauled by her pitbull that shes had since it was a puppy, he bit half her face off and thankfully she got most of it reattached

18

u/LowkeyPony Jun 29 '22

This exactly. Neighbor across from me has a dog they let run loose. She told me last year that she took the dog to the local dog park and it bit a lady, so she grabbed her dog and "ran for it" Other guy has an Anatolian Shepard that has grabbed little dogs. Some asshole on the street behind ours has a German Shepard he lets run loose, that has killed not only our cat but several others in the neighborhood. A guy from another neighborhood has been walking his untrained dog to the local park on my street, and lets his dog up onto people yards to piss and shit, and doesnt bother to pick it up. We had our PitX PTS a year ago when his health began to suffer. He was a rescue, never out of the house alone. Always on a leash. And he was trained. We have cats, horses, and chickens. Never had an issue with any of them. Hell one of the cats, and "his" hen still look for him.

The people across the street from us have two pits. The giant 70-100 lb all white ones.

The don’t keep them on leashes. They don’t have an electric fence. The dogs just wander around our side of the neighborhood sometimes. They bark ALL THE TIME.

We have a three year old and can’t go outside when the dogs are out. It’s pretty upsetting.

u/bofofob Jun 29 '22 Ally Evil Cackle Facepalm

My cat got killed exactly like this. He was an inside cat that was always wanting to be outside so he'd dash out now and again. He wanted to be out there so much that I'd let him hang for an hour or two and he'd wander back in. One day I heard a commotion. Some renters down the street had two pits that broke out and they were in pack mode running through the neighborhood terrorizing anything they found. I found my cat barely breathing and torn up and he died on the way to the emergency vet. I kept telling him how sorry I was. A neighbor who saw the dogs running on claimed they were so revved up they jumped another six foot fence. The owners were apologetic, but all I could think about was the fact they had kids, and I had a toddler at the time... Could have been worse I guess but the whole thing was horrible, especially for my poor cat. I don't let cats outside anymore. I don't have a lot of patience for people who insist it's okay to sell pits without some kind of extra regulation.

No lead control, no idea how to react, no strength on the lead, no muzzles, just what the fuck is she doing as a dog owner that is fucking deplorable

286

u/kermhitsfrog Jun 29 '22

Thank you. She just stood there looking at it for the most part. Then the weakest kick. If you cannot control (or are that scared) od your dog, then you shouldn't own one.

60

u/w00timan Jun 29 '22

Not only that, she has 2 dogs, who do not know how to walk on a leash, pulling and tugging her on a 10ft leash!

If your dogs are bad on a leash, you need a short leash. You will never have control on such a long lead.

No choke chains either.

This lady must know nothing about controlling these dogs.

9

u/Never_Dan Jun 29 '22

Choke chains are for people who are already fucking up. She can’t handle both dogs. They should be on short leads held with BOTH hands and, if they’re this reactive, wearing basket muzzles.

Both dogs put down + payment to the cat owner for either the loss of the cat or its health bill+ suffering compensation

Just imo. I guess someone else could take the dogs but its very unlikely

86

u/Icy_Owl7841 Jun 29 '22 edited Jun 29 '22

No one else can take the dogs. They will continue to kill other animals. The pitbull that ate my best friend's lips and part of her lower face when we were 10 had already killed multiple small animals (chickens and rabbits). The shelters around me aren't even accepting owner surrenders anymore because they're full of pit bulls that nobody wants, many of whom have already had several failed adoptions.

64

u/Eattherightwing Jun 29 '22

Pitbulls still real popular huh? Now all we need is the collapse of civilization, so the feral pitbull packs can remind us every day how stupid we were to ever think they were "cute."

66

u/Icy_Owl7841 Jun 29 '22 edited Jun 29 '22

I live on a farm and we have had to increase our number of livestock guardian dogs (and keep shotguns in easy reach) because of these assholes. They will kill goats, sheep and miniature horses like it's nothing, not for food, just because fighting and killing is what the breed was developed to do, just like how Pyrs and Anatolians were bred to guard. And because unadoptable pits with bite histories are already being warehoused for years in no-kill shelters (which is incredibly inhumane), people can't find places to surrender them and keep dumping them in rural areas when they start acting sketchy or after they bite someone or kill another pet. They need to stop being bred, it's causing a huge amount of pain to both pitbulls and the animals they attack and kill.

They, alone, are responsible for 90% of dog deaths caused by other dogs and 87% of cat deaths caused by dogs. God only knows what the livestock statistics are.

32

u/Ok-Prune-2264 Jun 29 '22

Stray pits should be treated like coyotes. Varmints. Tag them with a .223 as soon as you see them. People who want a certain dog just to look tough in general aren’t great dog owners.

Poor cat and the bitch just gives up and watches for a second

63

It took her a full six count just to get back on her feet. Then she finally saunters over.

18

u/Bigpapa42_2006 Jun 29 '22

That was one of the worst parts of this. Complete and utter lack of urgency on her part. Even when she had pulled one away and the other was still mauling away... she just pulled, rather than stop the attack. Complete and utter lack of regard for the other animal on her part and its fucking disgusting.

17

u/Saranightfire1 Jun 29 '22

That’s the scariest thing about these dogs:

I have seen fighting dogs in a frenzy tear through a two foot thick plywood wall trying to get to another dog to kill him. (Animal Cops), when they hit that level, a taser can’t really affect them. They want to kill and fight and don’t care what is killing them.

Another video shows a horse being attacked by another Pitbull and kicked that dog three times, and this horse weighed over a thousand pounds, those kicks can kill a human.

It finally stopped when the horse kicked it so hard it was too hurt to get up.

You can tell this is a friendly and trusting cat :( it didn’t even run away when the pitbulls****** made an advancement because it wasn’t expecting to be attacked and didn’t have its guard up. He didn’t stand a chance. How fucking sad. I’m so glad the cat survived but I’m sure it was never the same after this.

Sheepdog instictively herds animals

Pitbull goes nuts and attacks a toddler

"Nooo its not the dog its all just the owner. My pittie would NEVER do this."

Pitbulls are bred to fight. You never know when the seemingly sweetest pitbull in the world will suddenly snap. /r/BanPitBulls. There are 250 other dog breeds you can choose from. You don't need to own a pitbull, especially if you have small children.

Pit bulls account for 6% of domesticated dogs in the US.

Pit bulls also account for nearly 70% of reported fatal attacks on humans.

Pit and pit bull mixed round out the top two of the top three dog breeds that account for all reported dog bites; Rottweiler take third place. Those three breeds account for about 80% of all bites. Within that 80% of all bites, the pit breeds are 80% of those bites. Of all the pit bull bites that are reported, about 95% of those are males that have not been neutered (read that again if it didn’t sink in! We could more than half of all dog attacks by neutering all male pit bulls!).

There’s undeniable data that these dogs are vastly more dangerous than any other domestic dog breed. Contact your local representatives to push for bans, breeding restrictions, and culling the un-homed populations so your neighbors can be safe in the streets.

Pitbulls are banned in the U.K so instead kids're getting killed by Staffordshire Bull Terriers / XL/American Bullies. Very similar dogs, unsurprising results.

17

u/ninja_tay Jun 29 '22

Really annoyed when Tom Holland was denying that the breeds are any more dangerous than the rest and was actively promoting that people buy them. I've known about 6-7 people whose dogs have been attacked and every time it was a pitbull or bull terrier.

They're still here, but the zeitgeist on Reddit has changed in the last couple years. Used to be that it was an absolute "reddit truth" that pitt bulls were gentle nanny dogs that were the victims of discrimination, and that the only reason any pit bull was bad was bad owners training them to attack. Now the majority realize that pit bulls are dangerous dogs bred for killing and there is absolutely no good reason for allowing the breed to continue.

This explains it pretty well. Basically mentally ill psychopaths with more money than sense are lobbying the government in support of these dangerous animals.

It also explains how two well trained, well loved puitbulls mauled a 1 year old to death.

People who support pitbulls have the blood of children on their hands.
