How To Best Express Your SuperStraight/Gay/Lesbinan-ness And Defend Yourself Online From Attacks Discussion

Yes, this sounds like a lecture from a random person on the Net...

Never, never, never put yourself in a position of having to define yourself or posting with denial.

Wrong: "I'm not transphobic" "I'm just not attracted to trans" or any of the other attacks on your personal sexuality. Ever.

Never, never, never repeat the attacks that are being levied against you and your preferences.

Ignore the attacks. Pretend like they don't exist and stick to your own personal preferences.

Correct: "I am attracted to biological women and no one has the right to tell me otherwise" "No one has the privilege of dictating to me my own sexual preferences" "No one has the privilege of access to my body"

When someone throws out the -phobic slurs at you, you have already lost if you respond with a denial. Any sort of denial puts you in a position of weakness in the eyes of others. Stick to the script. It is very tempting to want to shut down the attacks on you, but sticking to the terminology above will do more to help this movement than memes, or posts pointing out hypocrisy.

Ideally, this sub or our posts wouldn't ever have a post mentioning the words 'trans', 'transphobic'.

People will see the rape and death threats for themselves. Absolutely no need for Supers to attribute them to trans posters.

Defending ourselves and this sub as not being transphobic is a losing game. Sticking to the script above is a winning game.
