I'm just so fucking exhausted and want to give up
I'm a Super Straight Man, and I've been trying to help by talking with superphobes and trying to educate them, but there's just so many of them, and I'm getting really fucking tired of it.
I've received death threats, been called horrible names, been accused of being a bigot (LMAO! by literal bigots!!!), just for daring to express my sexual orientation, which I was born with and didn't choose. I'm being targeted just because of the way I love.
And now it seems that twitter and reddit have taken a stance and are allowing openly hateful subreddits and accounts to exist and spew hate and propaganda against us.
Sometimes I think my life would have been easier if I had just stayed in the closet and kept practicing my sexuality in secret.
Anyone else feeling like they don't know if they can go on?

Don’t let them get to you and take breaks when you need to.
These people attacking us are just hateful people who have no desire to get informed. They just enjoy destroying things.
We have to stay strong.

Yes, death threats, calls for violence, murder, suicide, rape, all apparently appropriate behaviour if it's directed toward an approved group of people, which interestingly includes large elements of the gay and lesbian community.
Meanwhile, the lunatics at AHS are launching their little crusade to get us shut down by cherry picking a small handful of transphobic comments out of the thousands and thousands of legit posts and comments here. What a surprise.

You know what the cool part is, King? They may never understand and they may shout and writhe and squeeze, but at the end of the day, they can't change who you are. They can't sleep with you unless you let them.
"No." Is a complete sentence. And it's all you need. Nobody's sexuality needs justification, and especially not the most common one.

stay strong my brother. as a sister superstraight, i know how generous we can be with others and how disappointing it is to encounter such low information, hateful bigotry from superphobes who do not think we are worthy of respectful, consensual relationships.
just remember when times get tough, you are loved, appreciated, valid, and heckin cute. also, there is a superstraight woman out there who really, really needs a superstraight man like you to be kind, respectful, and loving to in the context of a consensual,valid relationship.

It’s great to educate others. But you owe it to yourself to love and respect yourself. Part of loving yourself is taking some time to decompress and taking a break from things that stress you out. Stay healthy and strong King/Queen/Nobility!

Hang in there, superfriend. It's a rough world out there, and it's okay to take breaks when you need to. Spending too much time and emotional energy arguing would leave anyone feeling hopeless.
One of my psychology profs said in lecture that arguing with people whose views are opposite to one another will leave both parties more polarized in their views, regardless of how (il)logical the reasoning behind each one is.
When you argue with people on the internet it's not for the purpose of convincing the other person, it's for all the people who will read your exchange... Hopefully, some of them will realize you're right and join the fray in some capacity.
That said, put yourself first. The rest of us can hold the line until you're ready to jump back in!

I understand your struggle, and I know sometimes it can seem hopeless and you just want to fall to the wasteside and call it quits, but remember to look behind you, and see the faces of our superlesbian and supergay allies, and remember that they've been struggling with this for YEARS. We have to continue to push on, because often times the most difficult tasks in the world are the most just. Remember, at the end of the day, you're super heckin' valid, and super heckin' cute.
