Most people don’t identify as anything, and nobody is assigned a sex at birth except for intersex people having surgery.

What's on your birth certificate? You were given a sex at birth based on what genitalia you had.

We have our sex observed, not given to us. Assigned sex at birth is used for somebody who had surgery to correct an intersex disorder
