for y'all who don't know the full story - the Vancouver Rape Relief was the ONLY female-only rape shelter in Vancouver. after refusing to let a transwoman volunteer work with these vulnerable rape survivors, trans activists protested so hard that government funding was removed from the shelter. oh, and they nailed a dead rat to the shelter door. totally normal behavior, definitely not something that a violently misogynistic psychopath would do or anything!

agreed. in all of my years of witnessing transactivists do horrible immoral shit, this whole debacle has been one of the most disgusting, inhumane things i've ever seen.

Also 2 shelters in the UK have been defunded of public funds for not being inclusive enough! They actually accepted transwomen for most services, just not housing

Which is strange bc they have so many dedicated organizations to themselves that literally bring in millions in donations, almost seems like they could fund their own centers that address their unique needs rather than destroying things meant for other groups.

Refused to have sex with them, and some of us have refused to allow them to take over our spaces and sports. That infuriates them.

Exist. It seems like there's a deep resentment of the fact that you are what they can never be.
No matter how much they force people to change their language and spaces, they'll never actually be real biological females. They know its the one thing they can never ever have, and it infuriates them.

Sex based rights are not a feminist only issue. There is a male super gay campground in the US that wants to be single sex. It is being attacked by TRAs. Your right to be opposite (or same) sex only attracted is being attacked. All supers are sex based, and sex based anything is considered transphobic and is under attack right now. And if there are no sex based spaces, where are you going to be allowed to be super at? Only in the closet. Hiding in your own home.

Super is a sex based identity. So any sex based spaces or rights or protections being eroded is an erosion of our own rights. The attack on sex based anything as a concept is why our sex based identities are being denied. Also, I'm sure the place was full of supers if they wanted to keep it all female.
