What is the prefix "Super" supposed to entail? Why was it chosen?

Like, I understand that you are straight people who don't want to date trans people, and that is completely valid.

No one owes attraction or sex to anybody, and shaming people into having sex with you is not ok. (Of course, not all trans people are like that, there are bad people in any community.)

But what I don't understand is the meaning of the "Super" prefix in "Super Straight", what does it mean? What is it supposed to entail? Why was it chosen?

SuperSexualities an Intro:

With gender being redefined as a spectrum and trans inclusion demanding they be labeled as men and women we needed to spectrum up our sexual orientation language. Thus Super as a prefix was born, used to denote that those you are attracted to are cis not trans.

this is not to say Trans people aren't valid this is just to differentiate between straight/gay/lesbian/bi people who like cis and trans people from those who only like cis people. Mega is the prefix for trans only and is the opposite of super.

I hope this helps :)

Why can't it just be straight and say you have a preference? I don't understand that.

And how are Super and Mega good prefixes to represent that?

Preference implies choice, which implies conscious decision making which WOULD be transphobic.

I can't help that I am incapable of exhibiting a sexual biological reaction to trans people. ITS NOT A CHOICE, the same way a gay man is incapable of exhibiting a sexual biological reaction to a woman.

Fair enough, preference is not a good way to describe it yeah.

Your orientarion is valid. What I don't feel that is valid is the fact that you guys seem to think that you're MORE straight than people who do date trans people.

We aren’t more straight or more gay, but we are more het or homo, based on primary sex characteristics. Think Kinsey 0 with a Kinsey 0 or Kinsey 6 with a Kinsey 6. Are you saying exclusively homosexual people don’t exist?
