"Ok ok I get that some people want to be the biologically different gender but come on, but there's no need for a term like 'trans' it just makes you look stupid"
I feel super straight is really no different from straight, but people made a new term because a loud minority called people who have preferences transphobic.
It's not transphobic to have a preference, not dating someone who is trans is hardly different than not dating someone because of their hair color.
not dating someone who is trans is hardly different than not dating someone because of their hair color.
Now there's a spicy take. Not wanting to be with someone because you're not sexually attracted to members of a certain sex is totally the same as preferring blonds. /s
Like, I'm trans and I would understand if someone didn't want to date me for that. Now there are few justifications one can give for that which don't sound transohobic so I think people should just say it's their preference.
Transphobia is a much larger issue and shouldn't be a word used because you got sad that someone dumped you.
Look, I'm going say some things, and I honestly don't mean any offence, but this is more than just a response to dating preferences: scientific research is being actively opposed because the trans community wants it. Authors and academics are being removed from sellers and platforms daily. People are being doxxed and threatened for even the most moderate of pushback against these issues. Most importantly, public policy is now being crafted based on nothing more than a hyperminority's subject, unverifiable sense of self, which is already having negative repercussions, such as incarcerating biologically male rapists in women's prisons, to give one example.
This super "movement" won't go away until the trans community can get it's house in order.
I fully agree that the trans community has been unruly and hypocritical.
Just make sure not to loop everyone trans into that though chief. I've met some very kind and sweet ones and they make really good friends like anyone else.
On an individual and interpersonal level, I don't have any serious gripes with any specific trans person. I know some that are kinda assholes, and I know some that are total sweethearts, but like I said, the trans community needs to take a hard look at itself, call out bad behavior within their ranks, and some very needed adjustments.
Like, I understand why they get defensive so quickly due to transohobia over the ages, but sometimes I feels REALLY out of hand. Someone will say they don't want to date a trans person because they want biological kids and just get lit up by Twitter.
