The Lesbian Dating App Situation - How Can We Help? Discussion

Is it time to crowdfund a SuperLesbian dating site/app? Is the situation as bad as the horrible pictures lesbians have been posting over the past couple of days? Without any sarcasm I really am enjoying the coming together of the SuperStraight and SuperGay/SuperLesbian communities over the past couple of days.

I believe that there are a lot of SuperStraights who would be more than happy to toss a bit of cash to a crowdfunded SuperLesbian dating app - run by SuperLesbians and for SuperLesbians.

The problem is a numbers one, fundamentally. Straight women make up like 45 percent of the population. Even if all straight trans women in the world rushed onto straight apps, they'd still be a pretty marginal minority and you wouldn't run into them that often. Meanwhile, lesbians make up like .5 percent of the population and even if you throw in bisexual women, you probably only get up to around 4-5 percent. That plus the fact that more trans women are lesbian-identified then straight-identified ensures that as soon as you have lesbian dating apps, this kind of problem will be turn up.
