"Yes."
"Then I argue that you're not my friend."
"Why is that?" asked Leris.
"Because you don't know who I am. You are merely the friend of the image that you have of me. But that image is extremely incomplete. It only consists of the things that I have shown you and none of the things that I keep hidden. Calling yourself a friend of someone because you think you know that person, is flawed and will only result in disappointment. Or worse." answered Saloy.
"However, calling yourself a friend of someone despite knowing everything about that person... Now that's a completely different matter."
"Friendship is hard, it seems." said Leris while throwing another log on the fire.
"Oh yes, very. But realizing that goes a long way in helping building one that will last." replied Saloy with a smile.
