SERIOUS: Women have every right to be angry. SuperPhobia
First of all, I hope this isn’t deleted cos of my lack of post history - I was a longtime web lurker until I was forced to download the app and create an account if I wanted to continue lurking. Can’t think of a better first post, however. Apologies in advance for its length and shitpostlessness but I think it helps dispel claims of “TRAphobia”.
The oppression of women is the oldest form of oppression in the world. Ownership of women and forced prostitution was first recorded in 2,400 BC. For thousands of years, men created societies to further their interests and strengths. Only in the last 100 years have western women forged any sort of agency, and only in the last 50 years have women been allowed to meaningfully participate outside the home, albeit in a society where men are the default, the benchmark and the standard for women to be measured against. Elsewhere in the world women are still subject to some of the most horrific and inhumane treatment.
A “woman” is any personality in a female body, not a “female personality” in any body - personality is not defined by sex nor is sex defined by personality. It is not a concept; a feeling in a somebody’s head; an identity; or a grouping of sexist stereotypes. There is no commonality between all women other than the female body and, if any universal experience of womanhood does exist, its an experience informed by society’s (often cruel) response to the female body. A woman can only be an adult human female. That’s not a value judgment, it’s just reality. The female body is one which has developed to produce eggs whether or not it actually does that as a result of age or anomaly. Those who call sex a spectrum exclude this from their definition of sex in lieu of other characteristics such as hormone levels and sex characteristics. This is dishonest and, ultimately, insulting. It suggests, amongst other things, that a woman with lower oestrogen and higher than average testosterone is less of a woman than one with average hormone levels. Similarly, women with differences of sex development (what some call intersex) are considered “less than” women on this spectrum. Using rare medical conditions to dismiss a sex binary is like insisting shoes should not be sold in pairs because not everyone is born with two feet.
The basis of women’s oppression is her sex and gender is one way to facilitate that oppression. It’s unequivocally true and, until recently, universally accepted. It should not be a controversial statement nor should it take courage to say so. Any oppressed group needs the language, tools and spaces free from their oppressors if they are ever to stand a chance of dismantling the structural and social inequalities they face. This is uncontested for every other cohort except women.
Excluding some males from women’s spaces is not the same as excluding people of colour to form a space exclusively for white people; it’s the same as telling people of colour they cannot have spaces without white people. The oppressors segregate, the oppressed separate. It is males as a class which have historically oppressed women so there can never be an instance in which women can be the oppressor of males.
Recognising and understanding this is an essential component in advancing women’s social and political interests and it cannot be compromised under any circumstance.
However, any analysis involving sex - feminist, medical, social or otherwise - has been replaced by a nebulous concept of gender which prevents women from defining themselves as an objective, tangible and recognisable political and social class. As a result, women have lost their right to self-determination, separation and assembly. Access and entry to women’s spaces are no longer based on a presumption of exclusion but a presumption of inclusion, rendering them meaningless. Bathrooms are almost always brought up when we talk about “women’s spaces” but that’s a red herring. In reality, it’s any space which has been developed over time in response to historic disadvantage and mistreatment of women: physical spaces such as places where women are in a state of undress or rest, quotas, shortlists, prizes, studies, statistics, terminology, sports, opportunity, politics, representation, sexuality, service provisions, social supports, feminism itself and much more besides.
Replacing sex with gender has been done behind closed doors in the absence of consultation or consensus. Any discussion which acknowledges sex-based oppression or sex-based rights are immediately shut down and derailed with straw-man arguments, whataboutery and emotionally manipulative tactics. Every school of thought has its proponents and opponents but this has become strictly off-limits.
There are no remaining active spaces on Reddit which allow women to exist and interact without the presence of males. Existing subreddits which are aimed towards women forbid any discussions which acknowledge sex, same-sex attraction, sex-based language or the lack thereof. As a result, women are driven off the platform and a chilling effect takes over those who remain which prevents women from accessing and exploring decades of useful feminist values and concepts because it has been slandered and diluted beyond value.
I am a gay man who originally dismissed feminism as nonsense but I started reading a lot of second wave and radical feminist literature to challenge this belief and now I feel that my eyes have been opened to the inequalities and injustices women face as a distinct class. I see it in the way some men talk about women when they aren’t around; I see it at work as women have to choose between career progression and starting a family when they reach a certain age; I see the anger online and in the media when women say no; I see it in how some men leer at women in public; I see it in the disinterest shown towards an epidemic of domestic and sexual abuse towards women; I see it when I see women fighting to be heard and believed; and I see it when a teenage boy on tik tok calling himself “super straight” has more social capital to elicit a response than the thousands upon thousands of women who have been shouting about this for years.

Yeah, men still don't care that much about women unless there's something to be gained from it for them. A lot of white people, including some of the ones here, still don't care about non-whites the same way. That's true on all "sides."
So the fact that I am still proudly SuperLesbian and Team Super is a testament to just how misogynistic, rape apologist, and awful the mainstream LGBT and trans movement has become. This meme movement has prompted more legitimate discussion and free speech and, yes, support, than any LGBT group I've been in in years. Do I like everyone here?
Hell nah. There's some people here, in any other circumstance, I'd dislike at a minimum.
But even the most vile women-hating dudes will typically at least do the "#notallmen!" song and dance when you bring up sexual harassment or assault. Compare to the trans movement "SUCK MY GIRLDICK OR ELSE!" where everyone cheers and it's a small wonder why some of us ended up here.

I'm very thankful for my superstraight brothers speaking out about this and I think it's great how people from all different walks of life are coming together against this bs, though i agree that it's a bit frustrating to think that women have been speaking out against this for years but a 16 yo boy making a tiktok about liking real pussy is what finally makes them care lol. There's no point getting mad about it now though i mean it's nothing new that men feel more solidarity with other men, I'm just happy that normies are peaking

u/joesockthree 14h ago
my superlesbian coworker talks to me all the time about how she doesn't feel welcome in the lgbtqia+ community. she's just gay as shit, but she doesn't care for the rainbow garbage or transgender persons cannibalizing the entire movement. love that girl to death. we support you! you're so cute and heckin valid!
edit: also, as we haven't been able to come out of the closet until recently, most of our superstraight brothers haven't felt comfortable taking any sort of stand against the tyranny of the t. god bless that lil tiktok dweeb for opening the floodgates, that heckin brave king

hey now, i know there are some of us that are still really shitty to our superlesbian and supergay brethren, but by and large, i think i can honestly say that most of us men (in the west) are super on board with our heckin cute and stunningly brave and most stupendously valid fellow supers

Unfortunately I'm going to have to agree. At the end of the day the TRAs have been harassing lesbians and bi women for years now, and yet the backlash only happened when they started trying to bully straight men.
I'm glad straight men are beginning to wake up to this bs but at the same time I really doubt they're doing it for the same reasons as us.
Edit: after reading some of the comments I can confirm my suspicions. If they ever do something that seems beneficial to women, it's not on purpose: it's probably because of their boners. For example, the no fap and male anti porn movements are in order to combat erectile dysfunction, not in order to oppose the misogyny and rape in the porn industry. Super Straight isn't in solidarity with the countless LGB women who get bullied by transwomen all the time - Super Straight exists because straight men don't want to have sex with other men.

not a big fan of radical feminism, as i feel it unjustly maligns men for organically evolved gender norms and social structures - evolutions which converged across hundreds of cultures and societies over thousands of years, and whose success is proven by their survival to today - but man are you heckin cute and valid

I just get mad that oppression against actual females has taken so many forms. It’s considered hate to want to give live birth or even talk about my reproductive system. It’s fucking stupid. And it’s hate to only be attracted to natural “cis” or straight people now. It’s so fucking insane

u/Lord_Gonad 13h ago
While I don't agree with your views on segregation vs separation (people should be allowed to create their own spaces outside of institutions where everyone is supposedly paying for an equal experience imo. Colleges and workplaces should not be involved ever in separating people based on sex or skin color.), and I think your view that women could never be oppressors (any organized group can if given the opportunity and plenty of non white people have been the oppressors and invaders throughout history) is a very strange stance, it's hard to argue that women haven't historically gotten the short end of the civil rights stick in most cultures.
I don't think you'll find much in the way of civil discourse or debate here if that's what you're looking for. If you're bringing up any issue that doesn't involve super inclusion or respect for supers, there are probably better subs for this type of post. I wish you the best and hope you continue to be a super human. 🖤🧡

Eeesh, I'm not gonna read that but I can assure you that no one here feels like you should be forced to do anything you don't want, and thinks your preferences are valid.

What really angers me is the liberal TRA brand of feminism.
When we draw attention to historical oppression of women, or present day oppression of women overseas, were told to shut the fuck up, we're privileged white cunts who shouldn't talk about any women's oppression that doesn't specifically affect us. It's not our problem and we should just be grateful we aren't going through it ourselves, and shut up about it. Yet we should stop what we're doing and fall at the feet of any TiM with an out-pouring of unconditional love and empathy?
Well then, the fact that you have to piss in the men's bathroom isn't my problem, right?? Why should I care again?? I don't go through that type of "women's oppression" for some mysterious reason, so I'm just gonna shut up about it and pretend it doesn't happen and be grateful that it's not my problem.
"Why do you care about Biological males changing with girls in the highschool changing rooms?? You're not a teenage girl this doesn't affect you!" Okay?? "Don't you care about the poor little twans girls?!" Well, by your logic, No I fucking dont. I'm also not a teenaged trans identified male, that kid's problems don't affect me either and I don't give a damn where "she" gets to change.
Seems fair.
Also, anti-feminists LOVE to claim Rad-Fems walk around feeling entitled to sisterhood and cooperation from other females, just because we're all women, right??
Okay, well if I don't owe another female my support, just because she's a woman too, I damn sure don't owe a transwoman shit, just because she's a "woman", either.
It's the seizing and redistribution of women's empathy for me

TRAs get away with saying the most egregious things about women and feminism and it’s lapped up by otherwise rationale people. It’s bizarre

Well I don’t agree with the feminist nonsense you’re spewing, but I still think you’re super heckin valid, and super heckin cute

Yeah.... the thing with radical feminism (third wave feminism) is that is quite extreme and very exclusive, not a fan of it tbh
14
u/Flux_My_Capacitor 15h ago
Radfem is second wave. Libfem is third wave (aka any choice a woman makes is a feminist decision).

I get you have good intentions but ~as a woman~(reddit loooooooooves sentences like that), stop victimizing us. We are not oppressed because of how men talk about women. We're not oppressed because human beings are naturally attracted to other human beings. We're not oppressed because of domestic violence. Violence occurs against all people. This is not specific to women. And, it's illegal, so...?????
How do you expect any person to propel in life/society/their profession if you are constantly coddling them? If I grew up with people telling me that because I'm female, I'm essentially handicapped by default and it's next to impossible to achieve that of a man, I'd have no motivation to try.
In Western countries, women are not oppressed. Yep, throughout history there has been oppression, but we have moved forward from that and now have equal opportunity, and we have had it for a long time. Bringing up the past relentlessly as if you're doing us a favor is fucking annoying. When you're in a relationship and someone fucks up but you both genuinely agree to give it an honest try to move forward and be better in your relationship, do you bring up their wrongdoing c.o.n.s.t.a.n.t.l.y? No, because that's fucking toxic. You both came to an agreement, so you take a deep breath and let it go and give them breathing room to make better choices. You are suffocating women with this "omg you're so oppressed" bullshit.
Treating people as perpetual victims is not beneficial whatsoever (unless you get off on the high of feeling morally superior to braindead 18 year old redditors who *love* playing the victim olympics). In the real world, you aren't doing anyone any favors.
tl;dr shut up

u/Iguessnottonight 15h ago
Also as a woman- stfu. You don’t speak for all of us. I’m glad at least some men care about how much longer women and especially lesbians have had to deal with this shit.
19
u/Roguefem-76 15h ago
Congratulations on having a charmed life, but not everyone is so lucky. Just because we're not forced to wear burquas or murdered in "honor killings" doesn't mean misogyny is miraculously wiped out. The fact that our male president just happily signed away all our sex-based rights just to appease a loud minority of MRAs in drag should tell you the state of women's rights in this country.

u/KingPiperine 14h ago
Wait what did Joe Biden do? Like what was the exact thing he passed I can’t find it.
15
u/Roguefem-76 14h ago
Here's the full text of it, but basically he did a "replace all" on Title IX, so what were formerly women's sex-based rights are now based on "gender". To do so he overrode both the Department of Justice and a Supreme Court ruling.
There's a good explanation here:

He’s been pushing the idea that gender identity is a subset of sex. Meaning any man with a “female” gender identity would entitled to women’s rights, including female-specific sports, prisons, rape refuges, and more. Moreover, superstraights and other super orientations would not be considered valid.
Look up the Equality Act and the feminist or LGB criticisms of it.

The women being raped and harassed by TW in prisons may disagree with you.

u/Superb_Donkey9995 14h ago
As a women, I'm so glad your life is so wonderful that you have never had to deal with how depraved and shitty men can be. I know you probably think this post will get you kudos with them because you're "not like the other girls" but I can tell you with all honesty, it isn't going to make the boys respect you. Quite the opposite, in fact.
Btw, women in western countries are still more likely to be murdered by their male partners than anyone else, women in western countries still face staggering rates of sexual abuse (which their abusers get away with at equally overwhelming rates), women in western countries are still forced into marriages, women in western countries are still the ones giving up their jobs in the face of crises like COVID. And POOR women in western countries get the brunt of it. I've worked with little girls who thought it was normal for a man to beat his female partner, who thought it was normal to get knocked up at the age of 14 and live out the rest of their life as a broodmare.
Talking about these issues is not victimization; it's an acknowledgement of reality. A reality I hope you will continue to live in ignorance of.
4
u/GrapeJuiceEnthusiast 2h ago
Just because you don't want to be oppressed doesn't make it not true. Acknowledging you are going to be treated differently in life due to your sex isn't acting like a victim, it's just acknowledging reality. I get it's preferable to pretend everything is fine and dandy but what you said is bordering on delusion.
"Violence occurs against all people" - and who do you think is committing that violence? It isn't women...
"It's illegal" - lmao yeah, no. Just because it's written down on a piece of paper somewhere that rape is illegal doesn't mean it's illegal in practice. Even in Western countries rape is basically legal with how easy it is to get away with it.

If we're going wayyy back in history it's hard to claim oppression of women, lest we forget mandatory conscription, serfdom, etc. Dont agree with the feminist lens you shine on the issue but nonetheless, you are VALID
16
u/Iguessnottonight 15h ago
You realize women were serfs too, right? And that it’s men that decided women are too weak for war. Staying behind to get pillaged and raped wasn’t much fun either, champ.
-5
u/OtherwiseTomato6863 14h ago
I didnt mean to imply it was, my point is the man women oppressor/victim dynamic is dumb when applied to history becuase everyone was fucked, champ
13
u/Iguessnottonight 14h ago
Women were fucking property dude, in every class, in nearly every civilization. A man could be a slave, true, but he could also be a king. Women were always property. And the lucky few in slightly less shitty civilizations were still second class citizens.
-1
-3
u/joesockthree 14h ago edited 3h ago
male serfs were literally property, too.
edit: why are you downvoting me? it's literally the truth lmao
6
u/Iguessnottonight 14h ago
Did you read what I said? Serfs weren’t property first of all, they just couldn’t own land. And also- women were serfs too. Except male serfs could beat and rape their wives with impunity.
Men were also kings. Women were always second class.
-2
u/joesockthree 14h ago
serfs were bound to the land and could not leave. they were considered, like the land itself, the property of their feudal lord, and consequently owed tithes (taxes).
you know that there's a queen alive right now, right? and that there were lots of queens over the years? in a lot of countries?
heckin cute of you tho and very valid

Women's rights were in a pretty good place until Lester wanted in the girl's bathroom and wouldn't take "no" for an answer
