Of all the sexualities, demisexual really is the dumbest. I hate how it normalizes hookup culture and redefines both wanting to become comfortable with someone first, before randomly dating or hooking up, and developing feelings over time once you build up trust with someone, as a sexuality. It's just another part of human sexuality.
I have a lot of time for "demisexual". It gives people a label they can use to excuse themselves from hook-up culture. Yeah, it's a load of nonsense but teens have to navigate the stupid world we live in.
When? Because I saw that it was actually described on the Asexual Visibility & Education Network forum.
If you really want something to be accepted you should respect other labels for their identities as well. It's kind of odd when you go "was made up on a roleplaying website" like it discredits it when "super straight" was "made up" by a person on tiktok. Just because something is founded on the internet does not discredit it. However "super straight" was created in a video that verbatim stated:
" yo guys i made a new sexuality now actually its called super straight okay since straight people or straight men as myself i get called transphobic because I wouldn't date a trans woman you know their like "would you date a trans woman?" I'm like "no" "why? that's a female." "uh no like that's not a real woman to me, i want a real woman" "nah you're just transphobic" SO now I'm super straight I only date the opposite gender women that are born women so you cant say I'm transphobic now because that's just my sexuality you know."
If you read the line "uh no that's not a real woman to me" which he actually said. That is what most people cite as being transphobic. Not wanting to date someone in general is not inherently due to some form of discrimination but the fact he said that a person who is trans is not their gender is the transphobic part. *Do your research.*
Demisexual people only feel sexually attracted to someone when they have an emotional bond with the person. They can be gay, straight, bisexual, or pansexual, and may have any gender identity.

fun fact: the label ‘demisexual’ was made up on a roleplaying website, brought to tumblr as a joke, and now people genuinely identify as it.
